Miccah Athesila

Miccah turned his attention away from Inali as he heard paw steps heading towards the little group. His attentive gaze fell on his mate and a smile briefly flickered across his maw as she silently joined them. Her gaze was sheepish as she gazed up at him, and the man wondered why she had been late answering to their pack mate’s call. The guardian got his answer as he looked down at her paws, seeing a bundle of herbs at her feet. Inali’s voice turned his attention away from his mate and he silently took in the information she offered. He hoped this went as smoothly as she wished. Inali’s group went their own way and Bane was the first to break off. Glancing at his Leader, he too followed the young guardian in training. They stopped and Miccah could see that the boy had chosen a spot where the injured cow was already heading. He was glad to know that this seemed to not be his first hunt.

The guardian’s blue gaze watched as the cow, terrified, tried to swerve from her predators. But she was weak, and this game would soon end. Inali and Unitas seemed to have successfully cornered her on their part, but now it was up to his mate to keep the cow between them all and on course so the men could swiftly bring the cow’s fear to an end. It seemed this hunt would be successful, and the stoic man felt an unusual thrill of excitement course through his veins.

So sorry for holding this up guys

With surprising confidence, the reddish scout started explaining her strategy, and Aideen found herself smiling encouragingly to her recently accepted pack mate. They still hadn't had time to get to know each other, but after each meeting, the medic felt more and more certain that they would get along very well. As Inali positioned her as one of the chasers, the petite shewolf nodded firmly, having expected nothing else; Though she was no bad hunter, she lacked the physical force needed to take down larger prey. With a quick nib at the base of Miccah's ear, she got up and trotted over to the scout's side, waiting for her to lead the way; This was her hunt and Aideen had no problem letting her lead it.

They started off, the group of males in one direction, and the two rusty female's with their dark companion in another. With a swift glance over her shoulder, Aideen took note of the place they had met, implanting the location in her mind so that she could find it again; I'm not gonna just abandon those herbs! Once she was sure she could find her way back though, her attention turned fully to the hunt. It had been a very long time since she last hunted with others, and she could feel herself growing giddy as the three moved to a secluded spot in the tall grass. Lowering her belly to the ground, Aideen stopped next to Inali, gazing out at the caribou grassing before them. Copper eyes turned to powder-blues, and the medic waited for her companion to point out the target. Once she did, the choice was obvious, not only was the cow positioned at the edge of the group, but she showed a notable limp every time she took a step. Aideen nodded to her partners, tongue lolling out as she felt the excitement rush through her. Then Inali gave the signal, and ff they were.

Despite her slight size, speed had never been Aideen's strongest side, and as they ran, she slowly fell behind the two others. It wasn't a big deal, they needed to corner the animal on three sides anyway, and she was fine taking the rear. Unitas and Inali reached the herd and quickly separated the cow, starting to drive her towards the cluster of bushes where the rest of the Woodland wolves had taken cover. The vixen medic followed behind, feeling overtaken by the thrill of the hunt, she couldn't remember the last time she'd hunted anything larger than a rabbit, and there was something truly special about hunting as a pack. Up ahead, the cow suddenly swerved, escaping the two chasers and turning, attempting to escape in a direction away from the waiting ambushers. Aideen snarled, pushing herself to sprint faster, throwing herself towards the panicked beast, to turn it back on track. Jumping high, the petite wolf snapped her jaws loudly in the air next to the caribou's hindquarters, making it spring sideways in terror. Now keeping pace next to the animal, Aideen continued to snap her teeth, driving the doomed creature back towards the rest of her pack. She wouldn't be able to keep up for long, but on the opposite side of the cow, she could hear Unita's and Inali, and she trusted that they would be able to take over, and drive their prey the last short distance to the awaiting butchers.

Sorry for the delay everybody. This is the last round, so lets wrap this up! :D This round ends November 9th. @Aideen @Unitas @Bane @Mirren Slight pp to move things along <3

The cow suddenly swerved; its intent clear on escaping but there was no need for Inali to worry because from the sounds of the other side of the beast, Aideen had joined into the fray. Quickly, the medic had the beast right back on course and the chasers were quick in their work in leading the cow to the males waiting amongst the bushes. Inali jumped and snapped at the injured cow, careful to avoid its flailing legs. The last thing she needed was a blow to the head when they were so close. The cow continued to try and escape, her fear seeming to seep from her but there was a certain look in her panicked gaze that, to Inali, she knew this was the end.

The three wolves ran, pushing in closer towards the cow, effectively trapping her. There was no escape now. Inali made quick contact with the men waiting on the sidelines and then her gaze latched immediately back onto the cow. Slowly beginning to back away, she hoped Unitas and Aideen would join in. "Aim for her leg!,” she yelled over the commotion, hoping one of the men would hear her. If they aimed first for her injured leg, then the cow would immediately crumple.  But the men had to move in, and they had to move in now. Soon, if all went according to plan, they would not return home empty-handed.

@Aideen @Unitas
Extending this last round to November 20th. Whoever posts first (@Bane or @Mirren) will lay the killing blow and then if you all want to get one more post in as an exit, do so. Otherwise, I will fade.

His blue gaze watched the wolves as they worked together to circle the beast until there was no possibility of escape. The fearful cow was being led right to them and the man's form tensed as he waited for Inali's signal. Closer and closer they came until Miccah knew that the runners part of the plan was over. His ears pricked attentively as he heard Inali's call over the commotion and the man gave a swift glance to the men beside him before, muscles tense, he leaped into the fray. The guardian's maw parted as he bit deeply into the injured leg, tearing through the tendon to effectively cripple the creature. There was no way she could run now with that type of injury.

Its cries of pain echoed around him as it flailed its other workable limbs, in a fibal attempt to harm the wolves that surrounded it. Miccah tried to swerve from one sharp hoof, but speed had never been the man's forte, so he recieved a sharp hit to the shoulder as he failed to evade the cow's hoofs in time. Ignoring the fire that now spread through him, the man leaped onto the now falling cow as it  slowly succumbed to its fate. His aim was to pin the weakening female down with his strength as Bane or Mirren delivered the killing blow. He just hoped they also didn't get hurt in the proccess.

Unitas Hervok

Unitas felt his breaths arrive in gasps as he bounded along after the deer and his superiors. The black youth wasn't used to running a long distance for his meals, and maybe he just might be able to admit that he was out of shape after this hunt. Despite being the second best at creeping along hidden in the shadows (beaten only by Nina) Unitas had only ever chased and killed smaller prey items. A deer had far more stamina than a rabbit or pheasant, and Tas was quickly finding this out.

Despite his inexperience messing up the young Hervok's confidence he pushes onward just keeping up with the deer and his pack mates. Those heavy breaths split open the black wolf's maw as he ran along and snapped at the deer to keep it from swerving into him. Then Everything seemed to slow down all at once. Miccah was there, as well as the rest of the pack, and the deer was suddenly easing up on the pace. Unitas missed a bit of what happened next, only concentrating on keeping his position and making sure the deer didn't get out of their net of wolves. However he did see Miccah jump in, the one male Unitas actually looked up to in Secret Woodlands, then suddenly the deer was falling. It's legs thrashed around as the deer tried to simultaneously kick at the wolves and keep itself upright. Unitas kept to the outside of the circle of wolves to catch his breath and keep an eye out in case the deer did get up and try to bolt.

However it seemed that the win would go to the wolves today. Or at least that's what the dark wolf thought as he peered inside the circle of wolves keen on seeing who finished the poor pathetic creature off.

Making the assumption that someone actually finished it off here - wasn't sure how much longer we were gonna leave this up and I wanted to get in a last post ^^

The fiery shewolf quickly fell behind, despite her best efforts, short legs simply unable to keep up with the caribou running for its life. She had never been fast, especially for a wolf of her size. But it seemed her effort had been enough, as Inali and Unitas managed to rein in the cow, driving her into the teeth and claws of the waiting reinforcements. Slowing to a swift trot, tongue slipping out the side of her mouth, the medic's coppery eyes watched as the final drama unfurled up ahead. She saw Miccah jump out as the first, and then the cow fell, roaring its fear out as its fate was sealed. The end of the drama escaped her, as the rest of the pack caught up, crowding their dying prey.

When Aideen reached them, the fight was over, blood spreading under the lifeless carcass. She wasted no time in walking over to her mate, smiling at their triumph, but she instantly noticed the scrape on his shoulder. "You're hurt," She murmured, bowing down to inspect the injury closer. After a moment, she slid her tongue over the wound, cleaning away the blood, then straightened back up; Only a small bruise, luckily! She frowned at the dark man for another second, but then cleared up, danger was part of the hunt, and no one else seemed to have been injured, all in all a success. Still slightly breathless, the lass tore her eyes from her Dark Knight, smiling at the rest of her comrades, relishing this moment of success. Finally her eyes landed on Mirren and waited for him to take the first bite, settling in next to her husband and fellow second, afterwards it would be their turn.

Mirren Tainn

Inali had spelled out a plan for the lot of them, delegating Miccah, Bane, and himself to be at the receiving end of the chase. No objections were given and when each of them understood their role and a target had been chosen, the hunt began. Bane was first to branch away, forging his own path in the direction of his choosing. Mirren's eyes met Miccah's and, going with the flow, the tawny Leader followed the boy's suit with his second in command at his side.

In short order Inali and the others had found success in separating the lame cow from her herd. From a distance he looked on, each of his senses whetted by adrenaline and heightened by the panicked sounds of distress that echoed through the expanse of autumn sky. The Woodlands wolves took their turns commanding their prey, weakening her with every taunt and snap and tearing of her flesh. When at last the caribou had been driven close, the Tainn lept into action. Tail flagged high over his back, teeth bared, and eyes alight with a predatory glare, he headed the cow off as Miccah joined Unitas, Aideen, and the others in taking her down. Mirren wasted no time in eyeing the pulsing vessels in the beast's neck and, narrowly avoiding one of the last flailing kicks and the possibility of injury, made quick work of latching on to the neck and finishing the animal off.

He tore into their prey's rounded belly and retrieved his chosen share before signaling for the others to dig in. Tonight they would return home with full bellies and with meat for the caches in tow, thanks to Inali's efforts and to the work and collaborative skill of the pack.

Don't forget to claim life points :) @Mirren @Aideen @Bane @Unitas

It was all like a sort of organized chaos, as Inali stepped back with Aideen and Unitas to let the men handle the final take down. Miccah jumped in first, going first for the cow's injured leg while the cow continued to fight in a final attempt to survive. But Miccah was quick to seal her fate it seemed and the man wasted no time in using his strength to pin down the cow.

The end came swiftly for the beast after that, and the petite she wolf breathed a sigh of relief as the hunt she had led finally came to a close. Her tail wagging lightly in delight for the pack's success, the woman waited a little out of the circle of wolves and watched as Mirren took his rightful first share. Patiently waiting her turn, the woman moved to Bane's side. Brushing against the quiet man's form affectionately, the scarred woman moved to take her own share when her time came. Choosing to stay at Bane's side as the rest of the pack feasted, the woman allowed herself to relax. She had been nervous earlier, for she had never led a hunt and Inali's expertise did not lay in hunting, but she was glad everything had gone as smoothly as she had wished. They would return to pack lands with a hard-earned reward.
