@Pickerel - Set a couple of hours after this thread

The freezing fog still stung at her eyes and nose, the effect seeming to become even worse as she left the sweeping confines of the willows and headed out to the open space which was the lagoon. The widespread branches dipped themselves into the crystal clear surface, glimmering in the pale light of the sun. Her creamy paws lead her body along the edge of the lagoon, close enough to feel the damp dirt and sand on her pads, but not close enough to touch the water itself. She wasn't intending to go for a dip during this weather, especially as it didn't seem like it would be warming up any time soon. Shame.

Eventually she left the tree line hovering on the edge of the lagoon behind, and stepped out into the open space that surrounded the body of water. Long grasses and weeds tickled uncomfortably at her underside as she padded along. Lips curling back, she resisted the urge to stop and scratch, and instead decided to pick up the pace to a casual lope in the hopes she would reach a suitable area that wasn't covered with undesirable plant life. After a couple of minutes she came upon a inlet of sorts that was plant free and gave her easy access to the dazzling mirror-like surface of the lagoon.

Slowly down to a stop, the tawny female looked around, dark amber eyes scrutinizing the immediate area for danger before slinking up to the edge of the water and dipping her muzzle in, allowing the excruciatingly cold water to cleanse away the parched feeling in her mouth and throat that the water droplets in the air couldn't subside. Lifting up her muzzle once she was satisfied, Yvly stared down at her reflection, caught in the way the water was rippling in small waves across her face, creating an effect of elongation and contraction in her reflection, somewhat distorting the image.

So sorry for the wait! <3
Pickerel was returning to his favorite location yet again.
He probably visited the lagoon every few days; it was the place where he could
gather his thoughts and relax. The russet wolf paces along, his tail low as the cold
wind of winter freezes his wet nose. Scrunching his nose uncomfortably, he gives a
slight shake of his head, releasing a sneeze after he does so. After twitching his muzzle,
he ups his pace, silently coming into the clearing. The current weather did not permit
fishing. Such was a disappointment to him, but it was bound to happen. It seemed
his hunting would have to make a temporary switch to mammalian critters rather than
the scaled ones he enjoyed hunting so much.

Pike huffs as he descends down a small slope onto the flats of the lagoon's area. His
yellow-orange gaze focus upon a figure by the edge of the water. Though she was
concealed partially by the dead grasses, he could still make her form out. His eyes
were sharp when it came to anything near a body of water. The movement of a fish,
the presence of a heron on the edge of the water... he was in his zone when it came to
such things. His tail flicks in mild curiosity. The wolf didn't seem recognizable to him.

Succumbing to his interest, he continues forth. As he nears the woman, he can see her
gazing down at her reflection. A small smile pulls at the corner of Pickerel's lips as he
slips through the reeds that had browned at the continuing of the bitter cold. "Good
day, ma'am"
he says, his western drawl apparent in his words.

No worries @Pickerel <3 c:

A mere flicker of an ear was the only indication that she had heard the one who had intruded in on her personal space. Resisting the urge to let out an exasperated sigh, the tawny female turned her shoulders and head to face the other, ears twitching backwards and mouth curling up in a slight sneer. She had come to the lagoon to get away from strangers, but apparently that just wasn't going to happen here in this unfamiliar place she had come upon in her travels. Dark amber eyes scrutinized the wolf before her with a cold and somewhat disinterested gaze. He sported a russet hued coat, black fur adorning his body here and there, but mostly on the crown of his face. They also seemed to be roughly the same size, but it was likely he weighed a bit more than her. She had become a little thinner than normal with the upcoming of the winter months...

Even though she was very much against interactions, his words interested her, or rather, the way he spoke his greeting. It was usually the normal 'hello' or 'my name is blah blah blah', but never before had she been called ma'am. There was an internal struggle of whether she liked it or not. Deciding to try and not be the asshole she would like to be, Yvly turned her whole body around to face the stranger. But that wouldn't mean she'd be the nicest she could be. "It's not really a good day," she uttered dryly in response, corner of her mouth quirking up in a small smirk. She was interested to know how he'd react to her antics, but she'd try and dial down the sass for now, more for his sake than hers.

imagine we are higher than the arrows,
casually we're breathing with the pharaohs,
tragically we fall just like the arrows.
