<blockquote>Meeting with Skylah had been bittersweet; while it had placed something like a smile upon his face, the encounter made his chest ache with a terrible streak of longing. They had nowhere to go, nowhere to rightfully belong. He trekked through Southern Eden along the river opposite of the way he had been going when he and Vlarindara had parted ways some time ago. With a heavy heart seemingly wallowing in the depths of his chest, he wondered what to do now, what he ought to be searching for with his aimless traveling.

The rain poured down in this part of Relic Lore, but it did not stop him from his listless and haphazard path through the Drooping Willows. Finding an ideal spot underneath a tree's sagging branches he whined to himself in worry. He was certain regret was going to swallow him up in the coming hours as he stretched out behind a dripping, green veil of leaves. Setting his chin down between his large paws, he watched the rain cascade from the dark gray skies. <b>"I should have stayed home,"</b> he mumbled to himself, his ears laid back hopelessly. <b>"Living under Nolan would have been better than this... this emptiness... this failed life."</b> The corners of his mouth turned downward even more as he thought of his life before Midnight Plateau... before Relic Lore... and how much he rued his rather pitiful existence.</blockquote>

It was a beautiful scene, this place, though as a new wolf it was not with wonder that she had not been here before. Coming with an arc south of her home lands, the cedar forest spread into willows, yet the smell of her home forestry was not far. Once more she had been traveling for herb whilst the season allowed for it, her stock in her infirmary growing swiftly without need of use for the herbs as of yet savor one badly wounded woman and the birthing of her leader's children. This place was not the home in which she had gotten used to, but it was something she could easily find herself getting used to none the less. A delicate smirk played on her creamy white lips, forgetting for the moment her hunt for herbs in order to enjoy the view. Lost in thought, she'd forgotten the time, unknowing on how long she had been standing there until thunder struck, rain falling from the skies. Not pouring, but a shower to signify what seemed new life. Still she stood, head lifted, the underline of silver and gold to her coating a gleam to the sparkling rain, her attention was only stirred by the whines of another. Quickly did her head snap into the direction, cautiously and curiously did she approach. His mumbling to himself went noticed but did not allow for understanding. Her pale gaze, eerie and soulless to some, matched to seemingly perfect to his own sight- a pale gold. Silver and gold, they were. As natural, she would take a moment to assess him- older, but not by much. Intimidating in size, though not horribly larger then herself. Health, handsome, and a complete stranger. The woman kept her distance, though in increasing rain she could easily be seen as a silhouette upon the dreary landscape.

<blockquote>The warm rain continued to come down in sheets, soaking him through and through. He sighed, unsure of what to do or think now. The appearance of someone - or something, rather - in the distance caught his eye and he stared at it quietly before sitting up. He lifted himself up on his haunches slightly, just enough to tuck his bottlebrush tail between his legs. Whoever or whatever this stranger was, he hoped it was clear by his posture that he was in no mood to chit chat.

He knew talking would help him get out of the rut he was in, but after what he had been through, he was certain that sharing a conversation would only make his chest tighten and ache. Perhaps these things were supposed to hurt though at first before they healed... He turned his head away, pressing his ears to the sides of his head and along his nape. Fighting the urge to dash away and guessing that he would allow her to approach, he remained where he sat shakily, bracing himself for the interaction he dreaded.</blockquote>

Though the conversation did not come, only a mild interaction by looking upon one another as she clearly noticed his body lift, only to easy his tail between his limbs. Her would turn from her, head lowered, ears back. It was obvious he did not wish for company, and as he shivered in his placement under one of the willow trees, the distress upon his features was clearly evident. Perhaps Elettra was well with reading others, being a healer and all, where one might need to take in the signs of pain or illness, but even a fool would notice he wished to be left alone. Her tail, once level with her spine, dropped in order to lay limb at her backside, a single silky black ear turning back. Still for a moment her cold gaze lingered upon him, though as the warm rain began falling harder, Elettra knew she would need to take some shelter for the time being. She would come closer to him, but only enough to where she could see him clearly and where a large, hunched over willow tree rested. Taking settlement there and circling once or twice, she relaxed properly on her hunches before sliding her front limbs out for a lay. There, she finally turned her attention from the dusty timbered man. Her attention moved to the sky- dark, imposing as it's black clouds rolled in, at the lightening lit the sky and thunder struck in a low rumble in the distance. She had never been the best conversational wolf and thus did not mind settling in the company of another without the need of mindless chatter.

<blockquote>Angier heard her approach, coming to rest nearby. He exhaled quietly, not bothering to look at her for sometime. Swallowing, he waited... listening for her voice. When she didn't speak, he dared to tear his eyes away from the roots he had been idly staring at while anticipating the stranger's arrival. At first he had thought the rain had basically rendered her to be a silhouette, but upon closer inspection, her coat was actually a stark black with hints of silver. His timing had been perfect; while she turned her attention to the sky, he gazed at her.

She seemed to be alright, in good health and supposedly just irked by the weather. His muscles tensed and he shuffled his feet a bit so his back was not towards her. He wanted to make sure he didn't make himself even more vulnerable than he already was. Whenever the rain began to lift he decided he would move out of this forest. For now, though, he had no choice but to remain here until the storm passed.</blockquote>

Irked by the weather? Perhaps. She felt herself torn. The rain had always been favorable to her. It brought water, food, and the plants in which she put all her skills within. Today however, she had not expected it. During her travels from her pack she had hopes to go out in search for new supplies, yet with the weather growing more and more harsh, she had been forced to stop, leaving her here under a crooked willow tree not far from the timber colored stranger. As he dared to look at her, she could feel his eyes upon her like a breath hot on the back of her throat. Black silken ears turned back, her white lips quivering. He shifted to face her in order to keep an eye on her, much as she was keeping an eye on him. Though they had yet to speak a word to one another, it would seem they were more alike then they could have realized; they were stubborn to fault, competitive, striving and bold in their ways of being brutally honest. And it would seem, too, that they were both the wandering heart, as they were alone now from their packs (should he have one) savor the company of themselves. Proper and royal as she, should they have spoken, their tongues would offer the same elegant demeanor. But yet still they were silent. Elettra Archer, lowering her crown from the skies, offering a small glance once more to the man with her pale gray gaze before shifting her weight and lowering her skull and tail to wrap around herself. As moments would pass and the winds grew wild, she would fight the urge to shiver.

<blockquote>Gusts of wind seemed to pick up here and there, the squalls effortlessly making the forest sway their leaves and branches. For a mid-afternoon forecast, the storm seemed to have caught everyone by surprise. After some time, Angier's ears lifted only to lay back against his skull again. He averted his eyes as he thought of what to say, even if he did not want to talk to her, this also unfortunate stranger. His fur bristled slightly as he went back to eyeing her; his hackles barely rose. Truthfully, he was more fearful than anything else.

<b>"Couldn't find yer own place t' wait out th' storm?"</b> he questioned, failing at an attempt to sneer in her direction. His voice didn't even sound like he was accusing her of invading his space; in fact, it was more like he was just asking her a curious question. His mind flip-flopped as he tried to decide whether he was for or against having company while weathering the storm. As he would rather have it, however, he had hoped today would have been filled with nothing but his self-pity so he could fully welcome tomorrow as yet another fresh start... another chapter in his life.</blockquote>

She had not been watching as his head lifted, moving his eyes over her once more. She had made some attempt to rest, only listening to the rains and should he stir. When his voice lifted, accented yet proper enough, her head lifted slowly, turning around towards him. Her pale gray gaze would meet his pale golden one, a single black ear turning back from his question. It was not marred with spite, yet by obvious the storm had come as a surprise and being questioned by a senseless question, she offered a senseless answer. "I was not aware you owned this part of land." The statement was by far sarcastic. After all, the lands were not bordered by his scent and thus, open lands, she could easily tell. Taking a moment to huff, she would then speak once more. "I was here when the rains began and stumbled by you. I was in search of herbs." A girl, learning much on survival and how easy plant life could be used to strengthen or heal oneself, she knew where to look and what products were ether safe of dangerous. Being reminded of having to stop her task because of the rain, only to be questioned by the man, left her with a hidden irritation. Perhaps however, despite his lonesome need for self-pity, he was trying to make an effort to converse. She offered no pity to him, though still looked towards him in wait, should he have anything else to say.

<blockquote>The Lyall looked at her quietly as she snapped back. She was sharp, and he was quick to note the fact. He averted his gaze again, instead of looking back at one of the willow's leafy veils, he stared at his forepaws. <i>"I was here when the rains began and stumbled by you. I was in search of herbs,"</i> she declared. A side of his tawny muzzle wrinkled then smoothed out; he didn't have anything to counter that. If he had, however, he would have morphed this exchange of words between them into a scene of <span class='word'>bedlam</span>. The Angier that had left Bertram Valley a few months ago would have done something to that degree, he was sure. However, he didn't own this part of Relic Lore nor did he have any right to chase her off; the tree they were sharing didn't particularly belong to anyone either.

He blinked a few times before swallowing back a whine that was building in his throat. The corners of his mouth turned downward but he didn't dare to look at her again. <b>"Y-you live 'round 'ere?"</b> he tossed haphazardly into the air. Honestly, he just wanted to make sure he didn't come in contact with her or her pack for the time being.</blockquote>

She would view the wrinkle of his lip, though speak nothing on the manner. She did not think he would strike but should she, the woman had always proven to not let her guard down, granted so very few could be trusted in this world, a trust in which she did not hand out lightly. Watching him still as he turned his gaze, she offered her attention as he once more questioned her. "A pack just north-west of here, within Cedarwood Forest." The area was vast and she did not bother to give out full details on this. Should he prod, the woman would be questionable of his actions. After all, with quite the 'pawful' of knew kin and her having grown a bit protective of her leadess, the woman did not think it best to be tossing out information on her home so freely.
