Namid Vuesain
This is the official Vamid mating thread! The beginning is just a bit of preface, but the actual mating process will take place in the Underground Sea.

17 Fahrenheit

-8 Celsius

Clear, set on March 1st, roughly midnight

In what was practically the dead of the night Namid had felt it, had woken from her sleep in a gasping pant. Flames seemed to lick her body, scorch her pale fur and make her gaze droop. She’d lurched to her paws, exiting the communal den and entering the cool air. She inhaled sharply,  breathing in deep through her nose and tilting her head back to gaze up at the stars that dotted the sky. The queen had partially been able to come to terms with her Aleister situation thanks to the help of Nathaniel just a few days prior. As well as she could, she wanted to continue their lineage. She wanted to experience that youthfulness that she felt with the children when they had been young, to watch them grow and know that they were theirs. To bring life into the world was a beautiful thing, and very few loved life as much at the Queen of the Lake.

She’d crept back into the den, gently nudging Vespertio. “Darling, I would like to take a walk,” she murmured against his cheek, pecking the back of his ear with a kiss. Her voice was thick, and the heat that seemed to pour from her body spoke volumes. Namid wanted him, all of him, and she would have him very soon.

Vespertio Vuesain

Vespertio Vuesain had been in a content state of slumber when the gentle touch to both his cheek and ear began to arouse the man form his dreamworld, intoxicating perfume of his wife slowly seeping in deeper within his lungs with each steady inhale. “Darling, I would like to take a walk.” Her voice caressed his tousled fur in a thick tone. Gradually the man began to awake with small stretches of his limbs and a tongue curling yawn, the excessively high levels of testosterone flooding his veins the past couple weeks since Namid had began her heat cycle rekindled now that his senses could properly indulge in her aroma. Oh how maddening she smelt to him and tested his patience, but soon he would have her. She was his.

Creamy lids flashed open to reveal molten gold irises beneath, unfocused from sleep until a couple blinks returned their crisp line of sight. Heaving from his side onto his stomach, then lifted onto all fours the regal patriarch gave a swift shake to his dirt riddled pelt before settling his gaze upon the love of his life. A gentle bump of his snout against the scruff of her neck his greeting before the tip of his salmon tongue groomed the fur between affectionate nips with his teeth, gradually worming their way to the base of her pale hued ear where a kiss of his own was returned to the exact same spot. "Lead the way, my love." His satin smooth voice whispered faintly in the dark, gaze drifted away from Namid to focus on the looming entrance of the communal den cloaked by the foliage of fallen timbers years prior.

I'm sorry! But I'm on spring break after tomorrow so hopefully I can get posts out more quickly and we can get this done c: So excited!

Slowly her mate roused himself from his sleep with gentle nudges and nips from her. His jaws widened in a yawn and a small smile spread across her maw. Slowly his intense golden gaze flickered open with some grogginess, a few more pokes and prods following him as he rose to his paws giving his dark agouti pelt a swift shake. She made no attempt to look away from the muscles that rippled beneath his fur, her mouth going dry and her own muscles tensing. Then, they relaxed as he placed his own nips and kisses up her neck to the base of her ear. Namid cared very little who might have awoken and was watching at that point, her jaws parting partially in a breathy woosh of air as he murmured for her to lead the way.

The pale Queen needed no other prompting as she turned and moved out of the den, pausing for a moment to allow Vespertio to fall alongside her. She continued along, brushing her side against his occasionally simply for the pleasure of touching him. It had been a long few months with winter, Anthem's death, and the disappearance of a shocking amount of their members. They'd both been so busy, and her husband so consumed in his grief that there hadn't much room for much else. She'd understood, let him grieve and process at his own pace but even when living in the same walls she still missed him terribly. Even when she thought of Rook she never felt the way she did with him as she did with her king. It had been puppy love back then, something that had been blooming but had been killed by the cold of winter before it could finish. With her husband it was...easy, like breathing. There was no question of feelings, no question of where she stood or if there was anything at all. He had made a home for her, had given her the family she had longed for since she had lost her own and finally given her stability. It was more than she could have hoped for.

"I hope the spring brings more members, I do not like the den being so empty," she commented as they trekked, nearing what used to be the borders of their neighboring pack Silent Moon Plateau. It had been apparent for months now that they had disbanded, or moved, or something of the sort and to be quite honest Namid was just find with that. There was less competition for space now, and less tension.

No worries! This thread is at the top of my priorities so i'll reply whenever I can first.

Vesper hadn't the need to utter another word to set Namid into motion, the pale coated queen taking the lead toward wherever it was in mind she wished them to enjoy this frigid, starry night. A pair of warm gold irises stole a moments glance toward the heavens above as creamy limbs followed suit in the wake of his loping wife, gaze dropping to admire that special sway to her hips with each easy stride only he got to properly enjoy. A subtle smirk settled over his facial features at the thought, internally thankful for the twist of fate that had brought this woman into his life as their path wove between sturdy pine trees and across the protective barrier of their home, gradually approaching the fading scent of their former neighbor's borders.

It had not gone unnoticed by the lake wolves that Silent Moon Plateau ceased to reign over the heights, whether the band of wolves relocated or disbanded it mattered not to the agouti patriarch. Vespertio was simply glad to be rid of the tension that lingered between the two, one too many incidents preventing them from living harmoniously as he would have preferred, but his paws were washed clean of them and their ivory leader now. What became of them was not his problem to deal with.

A russet ear twitched toward his wife as her soft voice broke the silence that hung comfortable between them, gaze averting from the sway of her hips to rest upon the nearing ghost town border of the Plateau wolves while increasing the pace of his limbs just enough to stride shoulder for shoulder along side her. "They will come, my love. Once the snow is gone for good traveling will be easier and they will come." His satin voice reassured her, skull angling to nudge the top of his muzzle against her paler cheek to further put her at ease. This wasn't the first time the Cove had been faced with alarmingly low numbers, but just like before the tawny male was confident they would pull through. They always did. They had to.

As they strolled Namid couldn’t help but puff up a bit as they finally pushed past the border of the once active pack land. She’d been through this area a few times since their disbandment, which was how she knew of where she was going, but each time sent a tiny, selfish, dominant thrill through her. To know that the Cove had survived while their enemy had fallen. Before she might have felt bad for having such thoughts, but she had been the matriarch of these lands for almost a year and it had changed her in ways she had never thought she would. She was tougher, more resilient, less of a push-over, but at the same time she was more loyal, more caring, and more appreciative of what she had. They had always joked that Fallen Tree Cove was a rescue center for the broken, both mentally and physically, but truly it wasn’t a joke at all. They took in the ones that no one else seemed to want, gave them a home and a family, and while it wasn’t for everyone she had met many wonderful wolves in that time.

Her auds swiveled to catch her husband’s words of assurance that they would come and it did sooth her to an extent. The pale queen’s lips turned up at the corners and she turned to press her nose to the spot between his jaw bone and his neck. “Of course, I would be stupid to think otherwise.” she murmured. If everything went as planned their hold on the lake would only be more secured, and with that a little more spring was put in her step. Her mismatched gaze narrowed and her smile turned coy, slipping forward to rub herself beneath her mate’s chest taking extra care to exploit the perfume that currently permeated her pelt. Turning quickly she placed a nip against his throat, then in a flash of pale fur she was bounding forward ensuing the game of chase that nearly mirrored their dance the year before. The pair slipped past the bit of remaining trees that scoured the landscape, escaping further into the once forbidden land, taking gleeful care as they skipped over the rocky terrain. Then, suddenly, it was as if she had vanished. A quick incline into the earth was their new trail, practically hidden to any from above until they were right on it. It led them down, down, down, the stone smoothing out until it was almost vaguely slippery but the Cove wolves were no stranger to such conditions. Finally, it leveled out to a ring that surrounded a glittering pool, illuminated by the light that filtered in like sunbeams by the moon above them. Truly it was enchanting, and it seemed that they had found a trend in starting new life at the water’s edge. It seemed fitting, however, as their lives themselves revolved around the substance anyhow.

She stopped, turning and bowing playfully with her tail waving happily in the air behind her. The ‘underground sea’ churned, the light bouncing off the walls and off her pelt gathering a glow from the fibers. A low chuff escaped her maw to her king, asking him to join her in a tango.

His comforting words had provided their desired affect as Namid offered a soft bump of her nose to a spot where his neck and jaw bone merged, the smile upon his white furred lips gradually increasing in size. "And we both know you are far from stupid." He informed, returning the affectionate gesture followed by a small bump of his shoulder against hers as they passed the final faded border marking the barrier of Silent Moon Plateau's former territory. It was once this intangible line was crossed that a shift in demeanor occurred within Vespertio's mate.

The tawny brute was stilled to a momentarily halt as mismatched eyes narrowed and the once sweet smile upon her pale countenance was replaced by a more coy one, silvered fur brushing against the cream of his chest. A flick of her tail all but driving him further mad as his sense of smell was pleasantly assaulted by her perfume. Deep within the confines of his chest a growl resonated, a heat of his own beginning to pool within the pit of his stomach and elsewhere in direct response to Namid's actions. Yet, just before he could lift a paw to drape over her body in anticipation of what she was broadcasting his queen was darting away like a silver blur into the night after adorning his chest with a swiftly placed nip.

Another growl rumbled against his sternum, although playful in tone, as molten gold irises watched her fleeing form before following suit. Well toned muscles rippled beneath his sleek winter pelt, creamy limbs giving chase to his quarry with relative ease, a smirk beginning to surface upon his ivory lined lips. Oh how he loved it when she played hard to get. Deeper the duo sprinted into the previously forbidden land, the trees that once proved abundant thinning to reveal land more rocky in texture, eventually dropping down, down, down to an uncharted cave like system for the king of the lake encircling a glistening pool illuminated beautifully by the beams of moonlight that managed to filter in from above.

It was here that Namid finally ceased her running, instead opting to partake in a play bow that further seeped her exotic perfume in the air with each frantic wag of her lifted banner. Vesper reciprocated the action, bending his upper body toward the slate ground into a bow of his own. Lips curling into a wide smirk as a deep growl echoed off the surrounding walls. If she wanted him to dance, he would dance. It always took two to tango.

Namid watched as her husband bowed down, complacent in following her games. This pleased her, pleased a primal instinct within her body that she hadn’t known she’d had. Something that begged for control, that told her that this was something that was rightfully hers and no one else’s. Slowly she rose, moving forward with her mismatched gaze locked onto Vespertio’s as if he were prey she was stalking. She ran her muzzle along his cheek, pressing herself against him as a vague growl rumbled from her throat. Maw ran across his back, tailing lifting to entice him further. “Games are fun,” she murmured, lids hovering just barely above closing. “But…I grow tired of games for children. I would much prefer something more…adult.” the pale queen uttered, nipping at his hip. She turned, tail flagging over her spine blatantly. She batted her lashes, moving forward a bit, “Will you play with me?”
