@Kyna is ok!!! <333 just means we will need more updated one soon ;)

Guilt consumed him immediately after he spoke of Isolde’s death. He did not mean to shift the attention to him — it was the exact opposite of what he wanted. Like Kyna, Greer was a wallflower; he lurked in the shadows, constantly observing, and never wanting to spotlight to fall onto him. He almost recoiled away from the redhead as she shuffled toward him, her russet fur entwining with his obsidian pelt. Genuine sympathy came off the girl in waves, coating her words as they fell from her tongue. He swallowed the lump in his throat, unsure of how to handle the situation he had found himself in. He was supposed to be comforting her, not the other way around.

A frown had found it's way onto his maw as she spoke once more, pulling away from him as she watched him with her fiery gaze. There was a part of him that wanted her to return to her previous position, her small body wrapped up on his lanky limbs, but the other part was thankful for her absence.

He nodded, quietly agreeing with her words as she explained that perhaps the ridge was no longer his home. The shadow had felt so guilty for possessing thoughts about leaving the willows behind; he was thankful that his friend did not think it was a bad idea he wanted to go after something new. While he did not want to leave his family Greer knew he needed to be selfish. With all the family drama and uncertainty going on, Greer was growing more and more unsure of his place in Willow Ridge.

Her voice came once more, words hesitating on the tip of her tongue before they spilled into the quiet air between them. His brows narrowed softly as he considered her words, his interest peeking as she spoke of Oak Tree Bend. When he first thought of leaving his birth pack he had considered Silent Moon because of the redhead’s presence, and now the Bend was all he could think of. “Willows not Greer home for awhile…” he commented, his muzzle pointed at the ground as he spoke. “Greer would like Bend, Greer think…” he paused, mercury gaze dropping from his friend and focusing on his dark toes “But worried. Worried about family. Greer not trust some. Greer worry things go bad.” What held the shadow back from leaving was abandoning his family while the drama was still at an all time high. Otherwise he would have joined Kyna’s former pack months ago, well before its demise. “Greer stuck.” He sighed, exasperated at the realization, his nose wrinkling.

@Greer - Maybe fade out with your post and we can start something new?  :3

For several minutes the girl simply sat, relating well to the older wolf’s obvious discomfort.  She had felt much the same shortly after Phineas died, and when anyone had tried to ask her about it.  Such mixed emotions – even now, she wasn’t sure it was all sorted.  It wasn’t something she was ready to delve into, quite frankly.

The lanky female pressed back into her friend’s bushy coat, content to simply be a comfort.  She had no idea how long they sat and she thought.  Eventually, she pressed her pointed muzzle back into Greer’s thick ruff.  She inhaled the thick sent of willows and sighed.  “Sometimes things go bad,” she whispered softly.  As if they both hadn’t lost enough this winter already.  “But we can’t always control that.”

Kyna sighed again, closing her eyes as she told herself for perhaps the ninety-eighth time she wasn’t at fault for her father’s death.  That she couldn’t have done anything, even if she had convinced Aponi and Erebos to stop arguing. “It’s okay to want to help them.  It’s okay to want to leave, too.  But – I think you should probably choose because it is good for you.  Not…because you think you are supposed to.  Okay?”  She lifted her head, pink tongue flashing out to give the shadow a gentle kiss.

“I…probably need to get going back home.  But you can come anytime you like, okay?”

<3 ! Archived and I can start a new one in a few days @Kyna
Kyreer threads give me so much muse :3

He truly did not know what he would do without the redhead’s friendship. It was an unlikely friendship, formed out of awkward conversation (and silences) and shared appreciation for the quiet. But the golden eyed girl was the only friend that Greer had — and the only one he was interested in keeping.

The shadow nodded slowly in agreement to her words, a frown curling his lips downward as he glanced down at her, brows pinned together in thought. “Things bad too much,” he muttered with a loud humpf sound rolling off his tongue as he laid his chin on the top of her head and exhaled loudly through his nose. The boy wished that the Ridge would return to normal, but he knew as long as Hecate was a member of the pack and Skoll was running amuck, breaking rules and doing things the Skoll way, the proud Archer-fuelled pack would be in turmoil. Which was precisely why he was considering leaving the willows behind and pursuing a new home; somewhere far away from the unwelcome drama.

Pulling away from Kyna he blinked slowly at her words, almost dumbfounded by the unexpected wisdom from the former moon princess, before he nodded once more. “Okay,” he agreed with a soft smile, accepting the kiss with a quick wag of his tail and cheeks flushing crimson beneath his inky pelt. His expression grew stoic — almost indifferent — as she spoke once more, announcing that it as time she needed to return home. He was reluctant to part ways with his friend, but he knew that she couldn’t be gone for too long. Not if they wanted to keep seeing each other. “Greer come soon. Greer promise.” And he meant it. He would like to see the place that Kyna called home now (and the place he was considered calling home as well).

Hesitantly the shadow pushed himself into a stand, pressing his nose to the girl’s forehead once more before stepping back. “Ky be safe. Try be happy. Greer visit soon.” With a flick of his tail he turned away, his paws like heavy stones as he ventured back home to where all the family drama was waiting for him.
