Here you go @Flannery! :) // Patchy light drizzle // 49 F, 10 C// Late morning

An irritated huff escaped the tawny female's maw as she shook out her newly shed summer coat, lips curling back in distaste from the wetness that clung to her. She did not mind the rain as such, it was more when the darned weather could not make up its mind about what it wanted to do. Currently it seemed to be caught between raining and not raining, which was just great because every time she left the dry confines of the den or a particularly leafy bush, it would start raining again! Finally deciding to just deal with it, Yvly padded sullenly out into the drizzling rain, tawny ears curled back back against her skull and tail lashed out angrily behind her. This was not helping her little somaticize problem with all the new recruits, whom she had still not met. But to hell with it all.

Making her way to the East of where the Cedarwood Forest had laid its claim, Yvly came upon a small rock pool filled with small fish that darted to and fro. Figuring she was already wet enough that it would not make much of a difference, the tawny female waded into the rock pool, just enough that her front paws were deep enough into the water, which was too shallow to even come close to reaching her underbelly. Dark amber eyes scrutinized the fish as they scattered under the large rocks blocking the pool from flowing out back into the river. It would take them a little while to get used to her presence in the water, but she was prepared to wait them out. And though they were not worthy enough to catch and be eaten, it would be good practice to go over what Squeak had taught her.

@Yvly I'm terribly out of practice D:
He was free to do as he pleased. Like follow the distinct scent of a wolf, one bathed in unique odors that enticed and intrigued. For they were cedar interlaced with dirt and the all too heavy smell of a pack. Easy to pick out from the soft scent of rain, he let himself follow their trail. Coming to their location at a slow trot, he paused to take the she-wolf in. She was too tense, too still, for him to not resist bothering.

He waded into the shallow pool towards her flank. His movements were delicate as if to not disturb the water. But it was everything else he did that ruined the moment. Because it was then he chose to settle back upon his hindquarters, resting in the water with a splash. Sending ripples across the pond and whatever few remaining fish darting to presumed safety. But he couldn't be sure. His attention was on the she-wolf as he gauged her reaction, amber eyes searching her face. He followed her intent gaze to the water below, and he leaned in towards her. Moving to mimic the position of her head so that he too could stare at whatever she was so focused on. His attention shifted back to her after a brief pause. And for good measure he took to wagging his tail. Sloshing it through the water because it was the only polite and friendly thing to do.

"What are you doing?" His voice was a careful whisper, an almost befitting tone for the situation. It was as if his previous acts weren't deliberate in their cruelty.

Sorry for the wait @Flannery! :c

While the tawny female pretended not to take notice of the wolf that was creeping up behind her, one ear did flick back so if they did something it would not be a complete surprise to her. She was too focused on her task at paw to bother looking around at whoever was invading her space, and any stray movement could startle the fish back into hiding. They were just starting to emerge from the rocks, thinking the coast was clear, when there was a sloshing splash behind her, sending a multitude of ripples travelling across the surface of the rock pool and the fish back under the rocks. Yvly's lips curled back in distaste as a low growl left her clenched teeth, head slowly rotating on her shoulders so she could glare at the wolf who had just ruined everything.

Dark amber eyes rested heavily upon the younger male's own orange eyes, narrowed and scrutinizing. Usually she would try and be friendly with strangers, but right now she was simply holding back the urge to chase him away for disturbing her peace and calm. Tawny ears flicked back at his careful whisper, flattening upon her skull as she held back a particularly snarky remark, instead choosing to speak in a more... nice tone. Well, as nice as she could be right now. "Rather wishing you to take a couple of steps back, pal." Yvly's words were finalised with a slight snap of her jaws, directed at the younger and darker male before her. Her patience could only be tested so much, and it was already pretty tested from the recent events, so he would need to watch himself or possibly face a bite to his currently non-scarred maw.

She was the growl that hissed from between clenched teeth, and the hollow snap of angry jaws on air. The once unending blur of white noise in his head ceased its monotonous hum, replaced by her cacophony of borderline violence. She was angry and he could feel it singing in his veins. His expression of scrutiny turned to one of amusement, mouth hanging ajar in smile. Rows of white teeth jutted out from behind blackened lips, pink tongue lolling forward to push at his incisors. Her spitting words were a cruelty that he welcomed.

"Sorry!" The apology was a chirping sound from his mouth, one that defied the meaning of his words. Yet he continued onward in his show of pseudo-appeasement. He drew himself tall upon wet paws, forcing himself away from her side. "I didn't know." His shoulders rose and fell with defiance as the sentence rolled of his tongue. With it his body language changed, tensing with his ears held forward and gaze unwavering against hers. His expression and being was still as he awaited her reaction. For violence was an ill intent he latched onto. It was something he could feel crawling over him with the she-wolf's every motion.
