Elettra Archer
A few more arrived- a child of the alpha pair, and her second partner and within moments, the hunt had begun. With a motion of Borden's muzzle, did Elettra's eyes falter to Vlarindara and Jaysyek in wait. Canonical to Jays motion to take left, Elettra did not waste any time before she went off just opposite, taking to the right hand side of the herd. Keeping silent in the lush reeds of the marsh, the woman made sure to keep low to the ground, only hoping her more earthy colors would keep her from being seen, unlike the stark light coats of her fellow female pack-mates. Crouching low, her back legs more so in order to prepare for a spring action, her attention would be altered to her Alphena at the opposite side of the herd, waiting for her motion in which they may go for.

Eek, sorry, didn't really have much to post since Rai is just waiting with Borden. Oh, since Frankie quit, we should probably just assume that she's watching the pups here. Can deal with her absence later.

The tension was rising as more wolves arrived at the small gathering. With somewhat anxious eyes, Raigo noted with interested that missing from the group was Kiche. The two males had not interacted since Kiche had challenged Raigo for his rank, and it was with relief that he noted the others absence. The others, though, he was happy to see. But this was not time for cheerful greetings and catching up, this was time for business. Shaking his head, the second refocused his gaze on his leader, nodding with mute understanding of what his job was to be. This was his chance to redeem himself after his previous hunting fiasco, and he was not going to blow it.

Crouching down, he lost track of his fellow pack members as they sped off into their respective spots. He followed Borden, keeping close to his leader's flank. His own coat helped him blend in better, but he stayed low anyway, not wanting the entire pack to suffer because of a trivial mistake on his part. Slowing his breathing, he tried to calm himself, but the anticipation was causing his heart to race. Patience, Raigo, all would turn out well.

Borden Lyall
O O C | Sorry for the wait (and short post for the sake of moving this along), but here's the beginning of the 3rd round. Please post by August 5th and I swear I'll get the 4th, and possibly last, round in so we could wrap this up, y/y? <3

With Raigo following close by, Borden found a decent spot amidst a patch of tall grass. He crouched down into position, peering out once before ducking his head back between the spindly blades. Within the next few moments, he would solely listen... operate on instincts... Patience and timing were the key here in this sort of waiting game. If all went well, then perhaps the wolves of the Hollow would have a feast they truly deserved.

sorry for the hold up

Eyes measured each deer, trying to decide what one was really the best for the wolves of the hollow. There were many mouths to feed, and she wanted each belly to be full. Fall, and winter were not quite coming but a good meal worked wonders. Deciding on a rather stocky doe a little older perhaps without a fawn at her side she peered through the marsh trying to catch glimpse of her loyal companions. When she was positive everyone was ready, she knew it was time to set the hunt in action. Tension in her limbs, she chose the best coarse to her target, and rushed quick as could be to the hind end of the doe.

Like she once had she let out a fierce bark which imediately sent the doe forward where she needed to go. A grin split her lips momentarily, before another bark echoed from her open jaws, and she took off after the doe. Jaws opened loud growls vibrated against her teeth. She kept mindful distance of hooves, her eyes staring on the hide of the deer never once wandering to where the rest of the hunting party was. She had to concentrate, even if the distance to Raigo, and Borden was short.

[ sry. i had really no idea it was my turn. :/ ]

And they were off. Just as Jays picked her target, did El's eyes follow her gaze and, like a bullet, shot after her leadess as she made way. The woman was smaller, slighter then she and by this, was faster, but it bought Elettra enough time to confirm which doe they were going for in the herd. As Jays barked to get the prey going, Elettra would do the same, jaws snapping at others as they passed in hopes they would not get in the way of their plans for victory.

Reviving this so there can be a conclusion. =)

Laying in wait, Raigo felt his muscles tense. Ahead of him was Borden, and in front of them were the deer. Unsuspecting, they paid the wolves no attention as they were slowly surrounded. Stilling his breath, the youth tried to seek out Jaysyek and Elettra, to see if they were in their positions. But he didn't have time to before all of a sudden they flung themselves from their respective hiding places. He heard the metallic clicks of their teeth as they frightened the chosen quarry. He heard the bleats of the other deer as they scampered off, leaving the intended one as a sacrifice so that they might get away safely.

Jumping into action behind his leader, the hunt gave way to a blur of physical movements. The deer was bleating and screaming as it was assaulted on all sides by the hungry Grizzly wolves. Teeth made contact and blood flew. Panting with exhaustion and the flurry of adrenaline, Raigo had no idea who made the killing blow, but was only smiling with satisfaction as the deer was brought down. Grinning as he let go of his corner, he watched as the life escaped from the kill. As the pack descended on it, he felt the spirit of the pack, and couldn't help but woofing his satisfaction as the first bit of meat disappeared down his throat.
