I just couldn't resist the title @Naira

Large ears flipped opposite ways, blue eyes scanning along the gray of the trees. Aponi was still not back. There was not a sign of anyone else. Disappointed, a frown tugged at her lips. She wasn't gone all the time, but when she was it felt like a long time till she came back. She had not found Kyna nor Sahalie to question or play with. Nor the Coho or Tainn pups. They must be out with their parents, probably hunting. She wished someone had invited her. She was a little hungry. It'd be nice to have another teaching experience. It was with a shrug, she padded further away from the den. Left to her own devices she would create her own entertainment, or find it? Whatever came first.

Nose lowered, she slowly scanned along the brush and grass. Trying to find something worth pursuing. She could tell better the trails of scents that were her pack mates, and some prey. There were a lot of squirrels darting to and fro, trying to get their own food. They were quick, and mean little buggers. When they chattered at her for trespassing, she didn't offer them a look. She had been infuriated one too many times when hunting them. She really wanted a mouse, or mar...marmot? Those didn't leap like those stupid squirrels. Momma had said she would need to practice. Maybe, soon she would get to see a real hunt. That seemed like a long time to wait. She hoped her mother would take her to the mountain soon or find a herd of deer they needed.

Lila did not find anything of interest. She would have to wander away from the paths. A moment of hesitation she scoped both ends of the trail. Then her skinny form broke from the trails of the Bend, and into an open patch of grass. Blue eyes scanned over the foliage. The grass was losing its color, and there were quite a bit of leaves over top of it. But, then she could see odd mounds of dirt. No, trails? Lines that zigged and zagged with a scent that was similar to the other vermin.
