Ryker Lieris
Ryker danced around Merys’ paws, still seemingly entranced by the other’s paws as he would dart it and nip at them before prancing away again, making little growling noises as he went. As Merys tried to draw his attention to the other fuzzy in the area, Ryker simply flopped between his front legs again and tilted his head back far enough so he could stare up at Merys’ chin.

“So it food?” Ryker asked, his head flopping back down to look at the rabbit that still lay at the entrance to the den. He had seen his father bring his mother many things while in the den and some looked an awful lot like the fuzzy, he remembered now. “So...eat it?” Keeping his body low to the ground, the pup ‘stalked’ up the fuzzy before proceeding to poke at it with his nose. Pulling his head back abruptly at some of the fur sticking up his nose, he wrinkled his muzzle at the strange sensation before bopping the fuzzy with his paw. It didn’t really move, only moving slightly with Ryker having poked it but with the way it had already been perilously placed, so close to the den’s entrance, it tumbled into the den. Which surprised him enough for the pup to jump back into Merys’ legs. He didn’t understand what had happened so he was confused. Fuzzies had never moved before when his father brought them to the den so what just happened?

Stalking back towards the den, Ryker poked his head into it and stared, confused, at the fuzzy body with a tilted head, his ears flopping over to one side. “Fuzzy okay?” He called to it, frowning when there was no noise. Slipping into the den, he bopped it again but this time, it didn’t move. He tried pulling at one of its ear and soon found a new game to play. Tug-o-ear.

So Ryker growled lightly and proceed to temporarily forget about Merys in favor of his new ‘toy’.

Merys Adroren
Merys watched silently as the pup moved between his legs, raising his paws as best he could to avoid stepping on him as well as avoid his advances. He did not respond to the cub as he inquired as the rabbit's purpose, seemingly not having to as the Lieris continued on anyway. Merys tried not to let himself indulge into the hope he was starting to feel as the cub got more and more distracted. He stayed himself like a statue as the rabbit tumbled over itself and further into the den, and the pup darted back between his legs. He did his best to ignore the fact that it almost felt nice to know he already felt protected by the five year old. If he indulged that fact too honestly, he might even start to like the little rat.

Ryker stepped forward again -- oh, so brave -- and instinctively, Merys took a step back. Tentative.. calculated.. he didn't want to draw attention to himself too suddenly. He almost felt guilty for using the child's learned empathy to steal away, but certainly not enough to still his paws. He heard the distant concern turn into light growling and Merys took that as his cue to turn and go. Quickly, as though suddenly in a state of arrears, he turned tail and did his best to turn a corner as fast as possible so that he would not be seen. Freedom. Sweet freedom, here I come, at last!
