Inactive II. Subordinate
Volkan Aquila
<blockquote>When Ruiko arrived, Volkan had accepted his gesture with a small sigh of reassurance; at least, if anything else, he was here. She didn't feel quite as out of place with the stoic male beside her, and listened quietly as the pups were introduced. Unfortunately, she wasn't sure she had any skills to offer them, unless she was to train them to fight; it was the only skill in which she had actual training. However, she knew there would probably be a more capable, more trusted member of the pack who could take care of that; her eyes flickered to Marsh as the other wolves, including Ruiko spoke up, recalling their recent encounter, before she realized that she was being addressed.

As Corinna approached her, Volkan shrank, though not timidly; she followed her body's natural instinct to lower her posture, head and tail lowering as she kept her pale gaze forward. Apparently the pack's female leader hadn't heard about Volkan yet— that was to be expected, though, and the newcomer to Swift River knew that she had to accept her place before Indru's mate if this was going to go smoothly. Hoping her actions had appeared submissive enough, and knowing that the eyes of the pack were upon her, she answered simply, <b>"Volkan Aquila."</b> It was a matter-of-fact response, though she added on, <b>"It's nice to meet you, Corinna,"</b> letting her eyes wander upwards at last toward the leader's face with a small yet sincere smile, hoping for the right balance of submission and manners. While Volkan wanted to fit in among the subordinates, she didn't want to seem like a mindless drone, after all. Yet she wouldn't move until the pressure was taken off of her, and remained in her submissive position, hoping she had behaved properly.</blockquote>

Thank you all for being so good about getting this meeting done! This officially ends the meeting, but feel free to post if you want to, otherwise it is assumed that they all just sort of dispersed. I will be archiving this thread on the 7th. =)

Gone Tomorrow

The eyes of the pack were upon her as she broke the circle that had formed around herself and Indru. She could feel them as she approached the strange female, their eyes watching her take on her dominant stance. Corinna had once been far too meek to properly handle dominance and submission within her pack, and that had been a sign of weakness to the others. But being a mother and taking control of the pack in Indru's absence had beat the meekness out of her, and the comfort she now found in holding herself confidently was not something she was willing to lose. It was not an aggressive stance with which she approached Volkan while she waited for the other's response to the simple question, it was just a clear statement of authority. Any aggressive displays would have been directed towards the leader's sister-in-law, but the frustration there was so great that the she-wolf couldn't even bring herself to acknowledge the presence of the tan furred youth.

The aversion of the eyes and the dipping of the head were all that Corinna was looking for. She did not demand that the submitting wolf completely prostrate themselves, and, after all, all the gray female had been looking for was the subordinate's name. Nodding her head, she allowed a faint smile to her lips before responding. "Likewise, Volkan. Welcome to Swift River." Pulling back, she cast her green eyed glance around to each wolf in turn. Settling on the other stranger here, the male who had settled near Triell, she narrowed her eyes, but let it be. He had faded in the background, and she figured that he would not last long among their ranks. "Thank you, every one," she announced, tail wagging slowly at her hocks. It was not one of the most fun events, but it was something that had needed to be done. With a dip of her head, she indicated that they were free to go as they desired. Stalking back to her place, she settled back down on her haunches beside her growing pups, her motherly smile directed towards them as they finished their first pack meeting.
