Blackberry Fields Sing me another song

It had hit her in the guts like a sledgehammer wielded by a drunken lumberjack. Her brothers were gone, save the one that had accompanied her north. Angier was missing, and Willow Ridge was but a shadow of what it should have been. At least @Renier had gone back. Things might not have worked out between them but she felt she could trust him to lead her mother and sister north, should the need arise.

Much of her journey since the realisation had been spent with her nose to the wind, hoping to pick up any fragment of a sign that her missing kin may be nearby knowing her chances were significantly reduced by the fact that she never stayed in one place long. She still had her own pack to get back to, and the mate she had left behind. Yet, when the sun began to fade on yet another day and she realised her proximity to the Woodlands kingdom, it dawned on her that perhaps she should be enlisting the help of their far-flung allies. 

Just in case.

Her muzzle tilted to the sky, calling for Nios. Perhaps he would like to meet her children, safely concealed among the blackberry bushes in case it was another who answered. Besides, they were well overdue for a catch up.
