OOC: @Vespertio wait for Solas to post then youre good to go!

It broke her heart to see the boy’s reaction to finding out about his father. She had never been one to enjoy being the bearer of bad news, but then again she was sure no one particularly enjoyed such a task. She held herself back from going forward to press her shoulder against him in comfort. The man hardly knew her, and even though in her mind he was already family because of his blood he might not think the same way. Especially with the news and the way he shook, with fury at the loss or with completely sadness she knew not.

He spoke and she was slightly taken back by the thanks she was given. But, a soft nod was given in response to the first part. Of course it was understandable that she might not want to do this right now. He'd just been dealt a heavy blow and right now what was best was to allow him to process. However, as much as she wanted to allow him immediate admittance that, for the time being, was not her place.

Her eyes were soft and lacking of pity as she spoke, her voice gentle. “Of course, take as much time as you need. And any questions you have I would think it an honor to answer, you deserve nothing more to know all that you can of your father. But, currently I am not the matriarch of the Cove due to some personal issues. I will need to call my husband to verify, but I promise you it will not be a problem. Anthem was his best friend, he will also be happy to meet you.” she said. Then, she lifted her head and called for the patriarch.

With his emotions pushed to the back Solas tried to keep himself calm. He even managed to do it except for the slight shivering in his limbs. He wanted to be alone but he also wanted to make sure that he could come back. Because he would be coming back. It was just that he couldn't talk. Couldn't talk to a father that was buried beneath the ground that he stood on. He couldn't do that at the moment. He might never be able to but he would try to simple so that he wouldn't have to carry it. Solas didn't want this to change him but he knew that it already had.

Solas listened as she told him that he could take all the time that he needed and that she would tell him what he wanted to know. It made him feel relief to some extent that even though his father was long gone he could still learn about him. It was a small thing but it did help with the ache that he felt in his chest. Namid also told him that she wasn't currently reigning like Solas had thought that she was due to something personal happening.

Thank you again and I'll find you again when I'm ready to learn about my father. Solas responded dipping his head slightly in gratitude. He would definitely find her again since she seemed to have the knowledge that he wanted to know. Namid lifted her head then and let out a call for the lead male. The stormy man didn't know if he should feel nervous or not. He was past the borders but he if Namid was right then it wouldn't be problem. Solas hoped it wouldn't be because he was in no mood to have fangs bared against him.

The lakeside patriarch had just finished securing the boarders furthest from where Namid and Solas stood when the call of his mate breached the air to summon him, creamy limbs halting and russet ears twitching this way and that as they listened to the song that seemed to be coming from the general direction of the birthing den. There didn't seem to be any sense of urgency behind the soft notes, but that did little to ward off the icuriosity that gradually began to bubble beneath his agouti coat. A call was a call, though, and as swift as his legs would allow they sprinted across the expanse of his territory toward her location.

Whatever the man had expected to find when he arrived, though, was definitely not what he received the moment his golden irises settled upon the silver silhouette of his wife and.. "Anthem?" The moniker of the beloved Coldheart that had served the pack literally til the day he died falling off inky lips just a hair above a whisper, body halting immediately as golden eyes widened enough to reveal where the whites began. No, no. This was impossible and surely the winter was just playing tricks on him. Anthem couldn't be here, this surely was just a mirage manifested by the cruel snow. Yet, under close examination the figure before him looked too real to be a mirage. Stormy hued fur, large build suited perfectly for a role as Guardian, icy blu-- Wait a minute. Creamy lids narrowed as the lakeside king's golden gaze locked on to a pair of eyes that reflected the same hue as his own, the one flaw that ruined this wolf's chances at passing as Anthem's doppelganger.

Curiosity soon transformed into confusion vibrantly across the man's facial features, attention shifting from this unknown wolf within his territory to settle it upon his mate, clearly an expression that begged for answers. "Who is he and why is he here?" He asked Namid, a twinge of pain evident beneath the tones of his voice as if he had seen a ghost and for the most part he had.

The look on her husband’s face was nearly the exact one that she wore when she had first seen the man and she worried that their reactions might force him to rethink his choice. There was practically over half of their pack that remembered their old second and he would be getting that look from more than just them. It wouldn't be easy, especially now that he would understand why he was getting the look. She could understand her mate’s feelings to an extent, for she hadn't spent as much time with the Anthem as he had. Her eyes softened and she moved to press her side into her husband’s.

“Vespertio...this is Solas. Solas Coldheart. He is Anthem’s son. He came here looking for him, alone. I could not take him anywhere else to explain everything. But, he would like to stay with us to learn about Anthem.” He had to let him stay, to turn away the son of their best friend and member would be very out of character for the Lake King. Even if it was just for a little while it was the least they could do for the man who had sacrificed literally everything for them.

Solas ColdHeart
OOC: Sorry for the odd post

Solas waited in silence for the King to arrive. His head felt foggy, almost like he was looking at the world through a mist. The wait gave him a chance to try and clear it. Put his thoughts back where they belonged and to try and figure out what he was going to do if Vespertio didn't want him to stay. It didn't take long before he could hear the sounds of paws against the ground. The King Solas guessed as he raised his head to view the other male.

Wide golden eyes stared at him as @Vespertio whispered his father's name. Another shiver went down Solas's spine. Did he look that much like his dead father? @Namid had reacted the same way at first and even whispered Anthem's name as well. It suddenly felt like a burden to wear the same pelt as his father. He hadn't known the man but they had. How many wounds had he reopened by his sudden appearance? How much pain and grief was he bringing them? It was one thing for him to feel that pain and grief but it was probably completely different for them. They were the ones that had to look at him and they were the ones that would likely always see the resemblance. A resemblance Solas had barely been aware about.

He bit his tongue again as he waited for the Vespertio to finish his staring. The other man would soon find something that was off. It didn't take long before he began to ask Namid questions. Which she filled in at the smaller man side, explaining who he was and why he was there. She had said everything that had needed to be said so Solas remained silent waiting for whatever the other man might throw at him.

Unwavering gaze remaining trained on the facial features of his wife while awaiting some sort of explanation for whatever this was. Luckily he didn't have to wait too long and russet ears flicked as he was filled in with the details he sorely needed to make sense of this situation. Golden eyes widened a fraction in response to the news he was fed, shifting his attention away from Namid while she continued to fill him in order to settle his gaze on the near Anthem doppelganger. So this was his son and honestly it all was beginning to make perfect sense. The same stormy pelt, the large build. All traits that belonged to his dearly departed father which left Vespertio to assume the gold eyes had been an inherited gift from his mother. Something the lakeside patriarch was silently grateful for. He couldn't imagine what pain would have arose had he had the same eyes as his father.

Not wanting to gawk nor entertain the pain that was beginning to arise within the tightness of his chest, Vesper once more settled his gaze on that of his mate. "No, you were right to take him here." With that said he once more shifted his attention to Solas, forcing the corner of his lips to curl upward into a faint smile. The air was thick with sorrow as it was and it was beginning to suffocate the tawny male. "Any child of Anthem is welcome to call this place home as long as they would like. It would be a disgrace to his honor as a loyal member to turn you away. Nor could I rob you of the opportunity to learn what a wonderful man your father was from the only wolves that may still be around to share the knowledge." He spoke in an asseverate tone.

I have loved the stars too fondly

Solas remained quiet and she worried that she was doing all of the talking for him. But, Vespertio seemed content with her reply and told her that she had done the right thing which was certainly a weight off of her chest. Her tail began a happy sway her her hocks, attention turning to the male with a smile. ” Well I suppose that settles things, does it not?” she commented, moving to give the man a bump.

She turned around to face her husband again, looking between them. “I think that Solas could use some food. I will also show him around as well so he can learn his way around a bit,” she informed. Moving forward she gave a lick to the underside of the tawny man’s chin, a hum of thanks coming from her chest as she moved past to lead the male further into the territory. There was still much to discuss, but for now she wanted to make sure that the man felt as much at home as he could feel. No matter that he was Anthem’s son, now he was one of theirs for as long as he wished to be. That meant just as much.
