RE- Askan, you have stumbled upon a salmon spawning site. All welcome!!

Askan squinted as he watched the salmon thrash around in the river. There were so many of them that the water was thick and churning with flailing fins and tails. It was certainly a sight, one he had no seen in the lowlands -or even in his homeland- so he couldn't help but wonder what the hell they were doing. Fish did not tend to gather in such numbers, so it had to be for a reason, something so important it was worth risking all their lives for.

Whilst he did not intend to make a habit of leaving the pack lands, for once curiosity had gotten the better of him. For all the time Askan had been in Relic Lore, he had seen so little of it. He had limited himself to sticking to what he knew. The lowlands were his home now, yes, but that didn't mean a little exploration wouldn't hurt him. As long as let the boss know, and didn't venture too far. And it seemed as though he was right,  these writhing fish would be the perfect remedy for his rumbling stomach. Travelling was such hungry work after all.

Stepping into the water, Askan frowned a little at how cold it was. Fall's grip was tightening on the land, and soon winter would be here. He'd experienced some awful winters back home, so he could only hope they weren't so harsh here. He could only hope. Shrugging that thought to the side, the Yukon wolf took a moment to quickly assemble  a plan. He'd never actually gone fishing before, he'd never had the chance to, but how hard could it be? The river was swarming with salmon, so much so that it had to be impossible for him to screw this up, even with his lack of experience.

Emboldened by that thought, Askan licked his lips in anticipation and snapped his jaws down into the water

Askan reared his head up and coughed and gasped as water filled his mouth and flushed down his throat. That was- He shook his head and glowered at himself. How could he have missed? The fish were swimming right on by, as if they didn't even realise he was there. Maybe they didn't even care if he was, maybe they were too busy to care. After a few moments, Askan decided that it was just chance that he'd missed, that his timing had been a few seconds off. He'd try again, surely he'd succeed this time.

Zahira had been keeping to herself sins reentering the lore, staying away from other wolves and mapping out the area she had stumbled upon. The russet woman moved carefully as she neared the water, the trail she had found where clearly an animal trail and one which seemed to be rarely used. Largo scrubby bushes covered the sides sometimes even reaching out over the path like hands trying to pull her off her feet. More than once she had debated turning around and choosing another way around but every time her own stubbornness had gotten the better of her and she had continued her path down towards the water. However, as she finally got free from the Paths tangled trail she stared at the shimmering water in amazement.

The water looked alive, moving bodies of Salmon fought their way up the river. Zahira stood there a moment watching them her head carefully following the fishes every movement. with so many around they would have to make an easy catch, and she would not mind filling her belly. Honestly, it had been a while sins she had managed to eat her full fill, the glorified life of a lone wolf. She looked out into the water gambling her options of the depth at the spot she were at. In the end, she decided to walk on perhaps if she could find a swallower part the task at hand would be easier. With that in mind, she moved on her eyes searching for a shallow part of water.

Oh well Zahira had found her shallow water, unfortunately, someone was already at her shallow spot.  The dark shape of the stranger had her lips pull back for a second before she managed to calm herself. Perhaps he could be of use to her, the stranger could be a fisher from a nearby pack. and he seemed young, perhaps young and dumb enough to share his price with a starving loner. However, her hopes were crushed as the stranger hopelessly tried to catch the fish. She could nothing but growl lightly in frustration, off course he was useless what had she been thinking. A mud of impure blood could never be of any use to her, she shook her head in disgust. That she had even though he could be of use to her was a disgrace to her own name and blood.

She walked closer her eyes fast set of the stranger, maybe he couldn’t provide her with a meal but perhaps he could still be of some use to her. she let out a bark to warn him of her presence “seems like you will be going to bed hungry tonight boy.” she called out for him in a tone of kind amusement in her voice as walk to the edge of the water her body held high, not in a threatening way but still showing the dominance that she held to her name.

Sorry for the slight delay!

Askan was in no mood to be mocked. That wasn't to say he was ever in the mood for such a thing, but on this day in particular he wanted to be left alone. A more pressingly than that, he didn't want a single soul to see how much of a screw up he was. No one could know that he couldn't even catch a damn fish on his own.  And so, when he heard her cutting words, his mood took a steep nose dive from bitter and grumpy, to scathing annoyance. The fur along his back stood on point and without thought, Askan adjusted his posture. There was nothing inviting or amiable about his stance, nor the expression on his face. If anything, it sent a clear and unmistakable message that he did not want to be bothered. That he did not appreciate her words in the slightest.  Just to run the obvious message home, Askan curled his lips back into a snarl and spoke.

"I'm not a boy." Askan hissed, shooting her an ice cold look. "There's plenty of room. Go find somewhere else to fish"

He was in no mood to share. He might have, if she hadn't been so rude- God's he couldn't stand her attitude, or that smug gleam in her eyes- but she'd screwed up her chance. There was no way in hell that he was going to tolerate her presence, she was going to have to leave of her own accord or he'd make her. That's the only way Askan could see this confrontation being resolved. He was blameless either way, he'd done nothing wrong, he'd done nothing to warrant this mockery. Just thinking about it, was enough to make a shiver run down his spine to the tip of his tail. He pulled in a deep, steadying breath. Getting worked up like this wasn't helping at all. He'd left the pack lands to calm down and find himself, but right now he was just falling back into old habits. He was letting her get to him. Damn this tawny stranger, damn her to hell.

As riled up as he was, he wasn't going to lunge at her just there and then. His temper was short, no doubt about that, but it wasn't so short that he'd start something without reasonable provocation. For now, he stayed put, bristled up with teeth bared.

OOC: its fine sorry if this is a bit confusing i am a bit rust in RPing as a wolf.

As the mud straighten up in became rather obvious that what she had first thought to be a young lad was a full grown wolf. Whoops, Oh well nothing to do about it now. As the mud stood tall lips curled back and his words spoken in a hiss. “my bad, sorry thought you were a yearling practicing to make mommy and daddy proud.” Something in her voice had changed from her previous tone to a poisonous joking tone with a clear touch of disgust. ”Oh but I think not this place is shallow a perfect spot for a dinner to be served, And not to be rude but it docent’s look like you are making any progress as it is. So why don’t you just go back to hunting rabbits or whatever a useless mud like yourself does” The last words she spoke was in a growl her lips curled back and a wicked grin on her face.

She would wait. Take her time, after all, she was in no hurry to leave and perhaps this useless mud could be of some fun with just the right touch. Oh yes this would be great, she hadn't had any fun for weeks or perhaps months, honestly, she lost track of time, and this lowlife puppet was a perfect tool for her game.

”So what it going to be?” she asked her tone ice-cold as she shoots him a glare as she made to final steps down to the water edge. She glared at him juggling with the thought of going for the first hit but his current position in the water had her stand back. A grin on her lips, a growl rumbling in her throat and a body that fell into a defensive stance on its own. This would be fun.

It's perfect. She's perfect. Warning, Askan has a potty mouth, so swearing ahead.

Askan snarled at he mention of his parents. He knew for certain that she didn't even know who they were-what were the chances of that - so her scathing words had to be nothing more than a lucky jab. How could she have been aware of his feelings towards them? She couldn't have. It was a lucky guess. And what made it all the more infuriating was the fact that, deep down he was they weren't proud of him. If anything, they were disappointed, so much so that they couldn't put it into words. Just thinking of that was enough to make Askan wince at the sudden assault of hurt and self loathing. She'd found an exposed nerve and she'd latched right onto it, she was making it bleed. Profusely.

She didn't know when to shut up did she? She kept digging her hole deeper and deeper. Rude. Useless mutt. Each word was like a blow to his head and to his ego. He could recover from physical wounds, it was only a matter of time, but they same could not be said for his wounded pride. Once it was damaged, it'd never be the same way again. He'd never be the same again.

Askan couldn't let this slide , he couldn't just forget what she'd said. He didn't realise that she was baiting him, he was blinded by his rage, unable to take a step back and just think things through. It was one of his greatest flaws, and right now this stranger was playing him like a fiddle. He was her puppet. And if she baited him again there was no doubt that he'd bite.

Stomping out of the shallows, Askan regarded her with such utter contempt it would make a lesser wolf shrink back. By no means was he tall, but he was hulking and well built. His time with Drestig's pack had been more than enough to replenish his body fat stores. By this point he was looking more like himself and less like a starving little brat that had once wandered the lonely Lowlands. He could defend himself with ease and he was more than willing to put this bitch in her place. She'd shut her trap once she realised who she was dealing with.

His yellow eyes smouldered with fury as he came to a stop a few feet in front of her, the water barely lapping at his paws.

"I don't know, you sure you want to push your luck? Just you're a girl doesn't mean I won't fucking kick your ass." He took another, deliberate step towards her, his lips once again curled back into a malicious smile. "Cause you're fucking asking for it right now."

Jesus I did not expect it to be so hard to make an opening fight post :L sorry for the delay, I dunno why the text is so painfully small sorry I can't seem to find the mixup and fix it either....

A grin appeared on her inky lips as the stranger snarled, his reacting had her laugh quietly. Whatever she had said had been spot on, and she ensured to place the fact that the dark male had a soft or perhaps even weak spot when it came to his parents. She never understood it though, why somewhere so desperate to make their parents prude. Perhaps this was due to the fact that she had never had much of a connection to her own and her dam and sire were but faces in a larger puzzle.

Her lips curled into a smile her eyes shone with amusement as the dark stranger got more and more angered by her words. Laughter rumbled in her throat as he left his safe spot in the water her eyes searched his body, and she had to admit that it was almost, almost, a shame that he wasn’t a timber. She hissed of herself. Never, she would never see a mutt like him as something more the just that a mutt that needed to learn why scum like him wher better off dead. Oh yes this would be the most fun she had in months and his blood would color the water behind him a lovely crimson red.

And the smile only grew wider as he spoke his words carrying a pitiful warning and she laughed. She laughed to her heart's content feeling how the outburst of sound ripped her at her sides making light pain run over her ribs like a river. And as she quieted down her eyes returning to the dark male as cold and uncaring as ice a wicked grin appeared on her lips. ”Prove it”

As the words left her lips she leaped forward her tail held high curved over her back, hackles raised and fur puffed out. She would show this worthless mutt his place, down on the ground with all the other filth. With rage in her mind and a lust for blood on her teeth she aimed for the first and the best her eyes could land on. And with a Flash of ivory she aimed for his lower neck.

Coolio, thanks for the clarification :)  Hope this does well for yah.

To reiterate, Askan hadn't come here with the intention of fighting- he'd come to try his hand at fishing- but now that the stranger had made it painfully obvious that fighting was indeed what she had in mind... Well, lady or no he'd give it all he had. Unlike Lorcan (who really, wasn't to blame for that scuffle), this wolf deserved every single bit of Askan's ire. So when her lips curled back into a malicious grin, and those provoking words slithered out like a hiss, well he was ready.

Or at least he thought he was.

To say he was surprised when she launched herself straight for his neck- well it'd be an accurate statement. She was fast. She ducked her body low and went right for his jugular- if she clamped down he'd be screwed. Royally fucked. Askan didn't even wince as he felt her canines pierce the loose skin around his neck, if anything the pain felt good. He felt alive. It was sharp enough to leap to the front of his mind, but by no means was it enough to break his focus, to send him into a pain addled panic. The skin around his neck was loose, and his fur was thick enough to offer decent protection. Her aim had been true, but Askan wasn't going to go down so easily. It'd take a whole lot more than a nip to his neck to bring this Yukon wolf to his knees.

Ignoring the throbbing pain at his throat, Askan reeled his head back and with every bit of force he could muster he slammed his head right into hers. His Father often told him to use his head, but he doubted the old man had ever meant it quite like this. Askan shook his head a little, it stung, but the blow had been more than enough to shake her lose and leave the bitch seeing stars. Rather than give her a chance to regain her footing, Askan took the incentive and charged at her, teeth bared and eyes burning with both anticipation and fury.

hope this is okay

As the taste of iron spread around in her mouth as her teeth priced his skin, her aim had been to rip and tear at his flesh to force him down where he belonged. But she never got quit that fare. The pain came before she realized what happened. Flicks of white and black danced in front of her eyes and for a moment she felt as if the world was spinning threatening to have her plummet to the ground. She huffed blinking and snarling she seemed to regain a more steady footing only to realize that the male was charging for her. shit she knew she had no chance of fully evading him at this point.

As his fangs priced her skin pain exploded in her shoulder and she snarled eyes darting to the river, a grin forming on her lips as an idea formed in her head. let’s see if mutt's float.

She ripped herself back feeling how the pain burned even more powerful in her shoulder as the wounds created by the darker males fangs was ripped longer and deeper. She however despite the pain where having a blast and a mocking grin had formed on her lips as her own fangs aiming for his forehead with an intension of pulling them both into the river.

Okay fight stuff---
Zahira is pulling herself back while trying to grab Askan by the head to pull them into the river.

At first he thought he should return her attack in kind, that he should also aim for her throat. But that'd be too obvious. There was a lot more to fighting then just aimlessly biting back and forth. Brute strength and speed were important, but you'd be a fool to think that smarts and cunning didn't play a part in obtaining victory. Going for the easy kill was a sure way of buggering it all up. Even he knew that, despite the fact that he had very little training. If anything, he wasn't exactly sure why he was good at taking and giving out hits. Perhaps it was natural talent? Or maybe it was down to the fact that he found ignoring physical wounds an easy task? He didn't know, honestly it didn't matter right then.

He had murder on his mind- or at the very least he wanted to put this fiery bitch in her rightful place.

Askan clamped down onto the meat of her shoulder, and grinned as he felt a shudder of pain run through her. Ouch, that must of hurt. It wasn't just a nip, he'd managed to get hold of a considerable amount of flesh. He thrashed his head with the intention of doing as much damage as possible- then she lurched backwards out of his hold, doing even more damage in the process.

He licked his lips, savouring the feel of blood dripping off his canines. Blood was also oozing out of the wound from his neck, but it was nothing to worry about. It'd clot soon enough. Now the wound on her shoulder, that was another matter.... Not that he cared. She could bleed out and die for all he cared. Shit, she'd deserve it.

If there was one thing commendable about this bitch, then it was her sheer unpredictability. She was wounded- more so than Askan anyway- and yet she kept pushing, as though she was enjoying this. Askan was too, he enjoyed the thrill, the thundering of his heart in his chest- but she was enjoying this a little too much. It was almost sickening. Almost.

She lunged for him again and Askan defensively adjusted his stance. He would not let her try and grab his throat again. The same trick wouldn't work again, he was a quick learner. But she wasn't going for his throat- instead he felt teeth penetrate the skin of his forehead and the bottom of his jaw. Then she pulled, hard, like she wanted to yank him down.

Oh, if she wanted to drown him...Well, he wished her good luck with that. If he was going to die anywhere, it wasn't going to be in shallow water with wiggling salmon as company. Askan shrugged off the pain and his eyes burned with annoyance- as though this was such a farce. Using his hefty shoulders, he shoved her away- deliberately barging into her wounded shoulder (damn that must hurt!)- and took a couple of steps back. Little streams of blood wove they way through his fur, and Askan had to blink the blood out of his eyes. Belatedly, he realised his feet were wet. The water was up to his knees.

Well, she'd gotten what she wanted,he was in the water. The ball was in her court.

"Come on you bitch. Try and drown me if you can!"
