Jessie Tainn

Her mind, in such a daze, did not think to ask questions as she simply listened to the exchange, her presence now known. The comforting presence of her mate was the only thing that kept her rooted. After all of these years, it was a surprise to hear that he was still alive, with no word from him since he left the Bend. Her heart hurt in her chest. She should have been relieved that Corinna's child was still alive but all Jessie remembered was hot jealousy flooding through her at the reminder that her loved one could not arise from the dead. She swallowed such emotions, emerald gaze still watching Lena, her gaze questioning. There were so many things that she wanted to ask but her mouth would not respond to her and she simply watched as the other woman said her farewells. The Tainn felt her anxiety spike, desperate for the other woman to remain, just for a little while longer. It had been the hope that at least one of them would have been able to escort her over the mountains, her paws once again itching for travel. But it became quite obvious that the girl was in no mood to wait to meet her family.

Nauseous, Jessie watched as the other woman ran away, a large sigh escaping her lips. Secretly, she hoped that the younger woman would tell Triell where they were, so that he would know and be able to come to them should he so choose. The gray woman looked down at her paws, a silent reflection on what just occurred. Surely, this would provide Serach some relief? Though Jessie was not so sure how pleased he would be to find out that his brother had not returned to him. With her mind on the Bend, she turned her gaze back to Drestig, a reminder of the present. Pressing her nose against her shoulder, in a rare display of public affection, she inhaled is scent now cleansed of its Oak Tree Bend markers. Her curiosity had gotten the best of her and she knew now that she should not have dropped in on this particular meeting.

Drestig Avalon
Sorry for the hang up on this one guys, I'm gonna g ahead and archive now <3 - @Lena @Askan

Suddenly everything moved very fast. It seemed his words had spurred something in the girl, determination radiating off her as she rattled off words in that manner that appeared to be common for her. Drestig frowned, mixed feelings stirring within him as he tried to follow along. She was leaving. Despite his offer she wouldn't be staying, as he'd said he could understand, she'd come here for family, they weren't that. But apparently she was leaving right now, right this instant. Silvered brows shot upwards, tongue uncharacteristically tied as Lena offered her goodbyes. She'd practically stumbled onto their borders with all this world-altering news, and now she was already on her way again. There were so many questions buzzing around his head, heart pounding anxiously. Even if he had been able to speak, he didn't know what to say. It wasn't right to hold her back, everyone in the Bend needed to learn the news as well; And they were why she came…

A quiver by his shoulder shifted the dark man's attention, ember eyes drifting to his salt-and-pepper companion. Like himself, she had been shaken by the news, actually she looked even more rattled, and the fact it showed at all was a tell tale sign of how deep her shock had been. Serach and Sceral had been young back when he joined Oak Tree Bend, but she had known them from birth, had known and cared for their father and mother even before then. The news of Sceral alive and out there, with a family of his own, might seem happy, but with it came memories of the ghost they had left behind, of countless things they had come here to get away from. With a tightness in his chest, Drestig reached out for his mate, curling his head over hers as she lightly brushed his shoulder.

Oblivious to their grief, Lena had already turned her nose east, dainty form quickly growing smaller against the horizon; Maybe that's better… He mused to himself, raising his head briefly to call a belated goodbye: "Be careful!" His hoarse voice broke off before he could add any more, but as her silhouette faded, he wished silently: And come back! Then he turned back to Jessie, caressing her cheek in comfort. It would take them a while to get over this.
