Kajika Tallis

Only moments had passed after he had taken his usual place in the meeting area before the pack members arrived, Neha followed by the pups. When Draven arrived Kajika almost didn't notice him but he caught the motion of him taking his place out of the corner of his eye. It was Namid arrival that surprised him most, she didn't take her usual place next to Vespertio but most shocking to him was her appearance. Kajika hadn't ever seen her in such a condition in the time that he had been in Fallen Tree Cove. He didn't want to make assumptions as to what he thought this meeting was about but the pieces were starting to come together for him.

There wasn't much time for him to dwell on as Vespertio got right to the announcement he had to make which wasn't a happy one. Namid was stepping down as alpha and Moonshadow would be stepping up in her place. Kajika wasn't sure what he should be feeling in this situation, he was conflicted and needed more time to think through what he'd just been told. As Vespertio had said he should have known that something like this might happen but in all his time living in a pack whether it was Fallen Tree Cove or his birth pack he hadn't seen anything like this happen. He suddenly had a very strong urge to leave the meeting and go hunting or patrolling, anything but be there. Leaving wasn't an option for him because he knew he had to stay until the meeting was over, it wasn't in him to disrespect his leaders that way.

What seemed like forever was at most a minute or two. After the arrival of her teacher the rest of the pack came into the clearing. First Neha, then the  twins, followed by Draven and finally Namid. Seeing the pale woman for the first time in a while Moon was shocked to see her in such a bad condition. However due to what Vespertio had explained it made sense. Havinf felt very uncomfortable the ebony woman shifted in her spot. An almost inaudible whine escaped her as she tried her best to remain calm but all she wanted to do at that moment was tuck tail and run. This was not where the young woman belonged. She was supposed to be down by Kajika looking up at the regal pair but instead she's up top the den. It was a extremely unpleasant foreign feeling. Even though Vesper tried his best to comfort her it little to actually soothe her.

As the lake king spoke and informed everyone of why they were summonsed silver dusted ears fell back on the new leader before moving back forward. She mustn't show weakness and whether she like it or not she had to step up. And stepping up meant showing domimance which was something she really did not want to do. As he finished his words scared silver orbs looked over to see those golden ones looking almost expectantly at her. As if she was supposed to say something. Quickly realizing that she should say something the urge to run only grew. Her mouth went dry as a lump tried to make its way down her throat. She'd barely had time to digest sitting in front of the pack let alone speak to them. "I - um" she started hesitantly quickly scanning the faces before her. "I understand this is a difficult time and I want everyone to know that I'm here for each and everyone of you. If you ever need to talk just call." Feeling that that was good enough silver eyes glanced back towards the dark agouti male who sat next to her before looking at the edge of the clearing. She needed to be strong for them despite her falling apart on the inside.

Draven Leigh

The announcement at least was enough to catch Draven's attention. The words rang through the deep fog that had enveloped him and the green eyes flashed upwards in surprise. Instead of looking to Vespertio or Moonshadow though they looked towards Namid to see what she would say or do. It was then that the teen noticed her dishevelled appearance, the way that her pelt looked untamed and how her frame had shrank. He wasn't the only one who had been hurting.

Standing from his position at the outskirts of the group the dark Lagina moved with purpose until he stood beside the Stardancer. Sitting down beside her without a word Draven pressed his shoulder against hers in what he hoped was a comforting gesture. He hardly knew Moonshadow and would respect and follow her lead as she was helping out Namid but his loyalty would always lay with the latter. The new leader's words were meant to be comforting for them all her supposed but the way she looked to Vespertio seemed unsure. It was odd for the yearling to see, his mother had been such a proud confident leader and that's how Namid had led when he had joined.

Whatever ended up happening all he knew was that the woman sitting beside him would always have his support.

Sorry for the wait, had an icky muse time in December. Also I'm not sure.. is this dated in like, June?

Lunette Vuesain

I’ve got my love stuck in my head

Everything was strange. Well, okay, not everything, but a lot of things. What wasn't strange was the comforting pillar of papa next to her, as she was resting against his front leg, drawing upon strength and security from the firm, thick bones. Ismena sitting next to Neha wasn't all that strange either, nor was Kajika being strange. But the rest.. Draven looked like he had been recently drowned, and dear mama looked as she always did; worn, burdened, bent. Not broken, to her young eye, but Lunette wasn't sure she knew any other Namid than this one, either.

The strange thing was Namid sitting on the outskirts, and Moonshadow standing on the other side of her papa. Youthful brown eyes stared unhappily at everyone. Maybe there wasn't any monsters here, maybe no one was dead, but something was wrong. She could feel it in the atmosphere, in the weight of the air against her body, and in the hushed breaths of those gathered.

Finally, papa spoke. His voice was a thunder reverberating from his body and into hers, comforting and frightening all at once; she swallowed, trying to make sense of the words. Namid was stepping down? How did that work? How was that possible? Namid was her mama and Vesper was her papa; could Vesper and Moonshadow lead Fallen Tree Cove? Did that make Moonshadow her mama? (No, she decided stubbornly. That wasn't how it worked.) Would Moonshadow have younger siblings for her? (This thing about pups happening each year was subconsciously registered in her mind; she had older siblings, so why would she not become one one day, too?)

Moonshadow was saying something. Draven moved and set down next to mama, pressing into her. Kajika looked like he wanted to be somewhere far away from this. Lunette tilted back her head and stared up a Vespertio, but she said nothing.

@Neha @Ismena I think we just need posts from you c: @Lunette this is set at roughly 10/6

Namid wanted to go back to the darkness of the den, hide from all the confused and hurt stares from her packmates. She didn’t want to be seen like this, didn’t want to be seen as the weakling that she was. The woman didn’t like being so vulnerable, and a certain part of her was miffed about it. She swallowed thickly as he explained the situation, certainly glad that he’d left out the reason behind her stepping down. Of course, it likely only took a look to see why she had.

Her mismatched gaze vaguely took in the others as they gathered the news, each slumped shoulder or bewildered glance like a knife in her gut. It was like she was being pounded into the ground and she was forced to avert her gaze to the ground, shifting uncomfortably. Her auds swiveled forward as Moonshadow spoke, the hesitance blatant in her voice but she couldn’t be blamed for it. Standing in front of so many others, having them look to you, it was an experience all its own. An experience she deserve anymore.

Suddenly a shoulder was pressed against hers and she looked over and up to find the dark yearling beside her. She held a strong fondness for the boy, her motherly instincts latching onto him with fervor. But, it was perhaps because of this reason that she had to fight herself not to pull away. She didn’t deserve this comfort, not from a boys she almost considered a child to her. Her head lowered in shame. It should have been the other way around. She just wanted to leave.

Sorry for the wait here.

The rest of the pack arrived in a timely manner, but she noticed how Draven seemed to keep to the edges of the gathering. What was also concerning, was that her agemate, Cernan, was not to be seen anywhere. Her brows knitted down in thought as she tried to stop her stomach from doing flips. Maybe he was just patrolling the far border of the territory. He was not one to just run off like their wayward brother, @Aleister had. A soft movement by her side guided her attention there, to find her little sister Ismena whispering a question. Managing a soft hum, she leaned down to press her muzzle atop her siblings crown affectionately, voice low. "It's a pack meeting. The leaders have requested us to come here to discuss...important topics, or recent events. I've attended plenty before." She smiled down at the young child, who seemed to be well on her way to becoming just as curious as she was, when she was a pup. Neha knew her sisters would likely find this 'adult business' very boring, just as she once had. But she had bigger shoes to fill now, and she knew that they too, would fully grasp the meaning behind such gatherings, once they were older.

As the meeting got underway, with her father stating they had been summoned in regards to the change of leadership. Neha of course, was among those who had already been informed of the transition of power, from Namid to Moonshadow. She was just here to show her support. Not just for her mother...not just for Moonshadow. But for the entirety of the pack, while they adjusted to this change, however long it was to last. Her eyes landed on her new alpha, forcing a small smile paired with the slightest dip of her chin. She would keep those words in mind, and make time to seek her out for more conversation. But seeing her mother...her idol, so solemn and almost defeated...it tore at her heart. She yearned to go over to her, to embrace the woman who she thought was so strong, and try to uncover the truth. But she would not. Namid was fighting an inner battle of her own, and it was not Neha's place to intervene. But at least she was not alone, as Draven silently came to her mothers side, expressing his own show of mutual support and respect. With nothing to say and turmoil running rampant deep within her, the cove Princess could only stare down at her paws. This could take some getting used to.

Neha can often be found close to Aleister's side and therefore may appear in any of his threads.

Apologies for the wait, but final round! Post with your exits and i'll archive once the last one is up. Ismena has fallen inactive now so feel free to skip her/PP leaving with Vesper or Namid. @Namid @Moonshadow @Draven @Kajika @Neha @Lunette and @Ismena just for FYI

It took strength Vespertio wasn't aware he still had to hold back the heavy sigh that wanted to fall from his lips watching each of his members react to the sudden news. As he had expected there was a mix of emotions that played across each of their faces, some of them giving off the impression they didn't even want to share the same space anymore; Kajika more predominantly, which worried the lakeside patriarch greatly. Had he made a wrong decision that would have catastrophic consequences in the end? The worry began to ebb away at his inner-self further, molten gold irises continuing to scan over the various reactions before movement at his chest caused his head to lower and his gaze to fall on Lunette, eyes immediately softening once they met those youthful brown eyes of hers. She too seemed unhappy by this news whether she truly understood what it meant or not.

Adorning her crown with another affectionate lick his attention once more lifted to focus on the pack, deeming it time to call this meeting to an end. There was nothing left to say and clearly everyone was in desperate need of some time alone to process and digest what had just happened. "I can tell this is a lot to take in and with there being nothing else to say this meeting is adjourned."  With that a final glance was given to the swarthy female at his side, a reassuring smile offered one last time before the king rose and gave a nudge to Lunette's shoulder, slowly making his way from the scene and off toward the boarder. He too needed time alone to think.

exit.

Kajika Tallis

While it had only been one announcement at the meeting it was a heavy one that left Kajika feeling with mixed emotions. He was worried for Namid and why she felt the need to step down and if she would ever feel well enough to take her rightful place back. He had not missed her appearance which only increased his worry as he had never seen her in such a state before. It had pained him to see the woman who had accepted him into the pack and who had always been so strong, who he had never seen bow before anyone do just that. His gaze had drifted across the other members of the pack after Vespertio's words and it seemed they too might be having the same feelings as he was. Moonshadow spoke seeming to try and sooth everyone's worries about the shift but she hesitated as she spoke and that worried him some. Part of him did feel bad for his student being thrust into this position but in that moment he had too much too sort out on his own before he could help her.

How could he ever expect to do any good for her if he didn't even have his own thoughts clear in his mind. He needed to go and be on his own for a while with the news still being so fresh in his mind but he waited for the meeting to be adjourned. Vespertio was the first go and Kajika watched him go for a moment before he rose to his feet. As much as he wanted to go there was something he wanted to do first, he felt he needed to do it. Moving over to where Namid was he brushed his muzzle under her chin in. He hoped that she would understand he wasn't angry with her and that he was there for her if she needed him for anything. He might have had mixed emotions about everything else that has happened in that meeting but Namid needed his support and not anger that she had stepped down. Then with a small dip of his head to both Moonshadow and Namid he left the clearing to go and think about what had transpired in the meeting.

Staring straight ahead to the edge of the clearing the ebony woman tried her best to compose herself to keep the storm that swirled within hidden. Part of her want to keep looking to the clearing but the other part knew she had to look to her packmates once more. So she took a deep breath and scanned the faces below her to gage their reactions to her words. Disappointment filled the woman as she saw a mixture of reactions. Draven seemed distant as he moved to comfort Namid. Both her and Kajika seemed to want to be very far away from this meeting. The pups looked confused - but they couldn't be blamed. Neha was the only one to acknowledge her attempt to be there for the cove wolves. Her small nod was noted and returned with a meek smile. At least someone had seemed to appreciate her try. With no one else speaking Vespertio called the meeting to an end. A wave of relief filled the woman as she realized she too wanted to be somewhere else far away. She watched as the lake king departed and then her teacher. With a small smile and a dip of her head for everyone else gathered she turned to head towards the rock overhang near the edge of the territory. She needed sometime to digest what exactly had just happened.

I’ve got my love stuck in my head

Well.

She wasn't the only one unsure what to make of all this, that was painfully obvious, and perhaps the most worrying thing—Lunette was more concerned with trying to figure out what this would mean for her parents and future younger siblings. Would Moonshadow be bad to have as a leader? No, probably not, she was a wolf, and all wolves are capable—but the mixture of emotions she saw each time she took her eyes off of her father.. the sorrow, the confusion, the despair, the concern. Was this a bigger deal than just the bloodlines of wolves not yet made?

Papa bent to kiss her head again, and she mhrrw'd and pressed against his stout cannon bone again. No one said anything. No one commented on what Moonshadow had said, so Papa said it was over and done with. And left, heading towards borders. Lunette was left with Moonshadow at the spotlight, but she left too, as did Kajika, and soon, probably everyone else as well. She frowned. Did she want to leave, too? Did she want to sit by herself and stare at the lake, or the snow-covered plants, or..? Was there something she needed to process, figure out?

The main thing she wanted to know why everyone looked like they had seen ghosts, or been smacked in the gut. Everyone slunk off as if they were guilty of treason, so with a stubborn scowl Lunette flopped down on her belly outside the pack den. Maybe everyone else was going to leave and brood, but she wasn't.
