Rayne Flint
Light freezing rain

32 ° F, 0 ° C

Rayne, your personal cache has been frozen over.

Shaking out his fur as he took shelter beneath a tree, Rayne squinted into the light rain that was falling. A snort escaped him as his stomach rumbled, the large male debating whether or not he should brave the freezing cold rain again to fill it. He had found his own cache frozen over this morning and thus had skipped breakfast so now his stomach was making sure he wouldn’t skip lunch.

Deciding he might as well, Rayne angled himself away from his temporary shelter and began trotting towards where he knew there was a cache with still enough food in it. It only took him a few minutes to get to it so as he scrapped at the ground, he was happy to find out it wasn’t frozen over like his own. Bending down once he had cleared away enough dirt, the half eaten hare that had been spied was picked up and placed to the side. The cache was quickly filled up again and picking the hare up, Rayne began walking away with it, with intentions to take up shelter in the main den while eating the hair. Thankfully, though it was cold, the rain was only light and his coat so far had kept him mostly protected.

That didn’t mean his old bones weren’t aching from the frigid air or his paws weren’t becoming cold from the slush beneath them. Or that his tail felt like it was about to fall off. It was with great care he stepped into the main den, shaking his coat out from the drizzle it had been in just at the entrance before ducking in.

]Slowly lowering himself onto the ground, Rayne dropped the hare at his feet and begun tasking careful bites out of it.
