Karina Baranski
I got Brian's permission to skip Sylva. This thread is getting pretty old, want to wrap it up with your @Gent  post?

It had been nearly a year since the incident Gent spoke of. It almost felt like a different life to the girl who was now a woman... and a packless mother no less. After a long moment she nodded, accepting the man’s gratitude.  Even though Round Stone Crest—as the pack had gone by at the time—was not a friend to her family, she had alerted them to their intruder without a moment’s hesitation. It would have been unacceptable to leave a dangerous boar wandering their territory, likely to hurt whatever hapless wolf it came across. That’s what serving the Mother was about: protecting your fellow wolf from harm always, no matter who they were or what they had done in the past.

 Gent’s gratitude was a valuable thing to have. Their trip would be much shorter if they could take the eastward route alongside the pass, but she knew they would need Gent’s blessing to travel so close to his borderlands.  “You’re more than welcome. I understand. I—we—have a place like that, too."  Karina looked down to her daughter when she said the word “we.”  Dragonveil was as much Bennet’s as it was her own. “It’s where we’re headed now, if we might be dismissed.” Karina dipped her muzzle respectfully. Her encounter with Gent had been surprisingly pleasant, but she was eager to be on her way. With the man’s permission, mother and daughter would be quickly on their way, so they might fulfill Karina's esperance to be far from Notch lands by nightfall.

Gent Lieris
we'll need one more post bc of the two month rule, @Bennet or @Sylva ?

It still seemed odd to him that she was seemingly so anxious to move on. Gent had thought that the appreciation he had extended would've calmed the woman, but while with it she didn't seem so apprehensive, there was still a tension between them that the man could not place. She did not want to talk, to ask questions, to share anything at all. Merely she imparted that they were headed somewhere important, and asked to be released from his presence.

A beat of silence passed as Gent glanced to his comrade, before his pale eyes settled on Karina's expectant features once more.

"Yes. Of course."

What was he to do, hold her here against her will, a conversational prisoner? It was over, and so with a dip of his mammoth skull as his good bye, he turned to take his leave, ushering Sylva with him.

Bennet Kjorsdottir
@Gent @Karina @Sylva archived :)

What happened next didn't make a lot of sense, but Bennet knew better than to question it outright; she'd make sure to probe her mother for answers once they were well out of earshot. The 'King Gent', rather than continue in an intimidating manner, started to thank Karina for something that Bennet didn't understand, which seemed rather out of sorts which what she'd been expecting. Why would her mother need to fear someone that was grateful towards her, didn't that imply they were not on bad terms? Unless it was one of those situations where a wolf said one thing but meant another, and yet no matter how hard she looked at the huge wolf's face, Bennet saw no aggression or deception...

... but then, this was why it was Karina leading the way and not the girl. What did Bennet know of the wider world, after all? Mouth firmly shut and staying that way, an ear twitched towards her mother's voice as she spoke of their purpose in the broadest of ways, the way that she said 'we' have a place warming a fire deep in the little dragon's breast. Yes. Yes they did.

And that was that. Following closely by her mother's heels, Bennet cast a final curious glance at the two dark-pelted wolves, keeping herself neutral and respectful, and kept quiet until they were long gone from this place.
