OOC! @Draven Back dated to a week ago or so. Set at early morning.
It was beginning to get dark out. That time of day where the sky is changing colors and ones visibility begins to diminish. The day had been uneventful for the ebony leader. As she walked along the boarders during her last patrol for the day she was surprisingly clam and actually happy. The feelings caught her off gaurd and there was a part of her that was suspicious. She didn't remember becoming happy she just was. Her internal conflict was soon squashed as an external one presented itself. Unfamiliar scents along the boarders with no one insight. Going to investigate her coal nose inhaled deeply. Her eyes went wide with the realization that not only one but numerous wolves had crossed into her home. Her horror only intensified as her ears picked up the snarls and screams of her family. Taking off without a single thought she sprinted as fast as she could to her pack. Reaching them in moments silver eyes widened to see ghostly black forms ripping them apart. Lunging towards one of the intruders her jaws snapped on what she thought was a wolf but turned out to be thin air. Confused and horrified when she turned her attention back to the wolves of Fallen Tree Cove all she saw were their bodies bloodied and battered. The shadow wolves turned their attentions to the temporary alpha their glowing red eyes locked on her. They laughed and mocked her. See what happens when you try to lead? You cant protect them. Youre nothing. You cant do this. You should have stayed gone. She collasped her eyes filling with tears as they played on every insecurity she had. The shadow forms moved closer before all lunging at her.
Jolting awake she was met with a ceiling to the head. Wincing at the blow she slowly went outside her small den. Her breathing slowing from its rapid pace as silver orbs did their best to assess the situation. It was morning, there were no screams, no ghostly wolves, nothing. It all had been just a nightmare, a vivid one at that. Moonshadow hadnt expericed a nightmare since losing her birth family. A whine left her maw as she desperately didn't want to go back to sleep. Luckily for the dark woman the sky had begun to brighten thus marking the beginning of the day so she had a couple of options. She could start her patrol, or she could go and get a drink and/or snack from the lake. Deciding on the first of the two options the midnight woman made her way to the border. She walked slowly as her mind went over the dream multiple times. It had felt so real and everything those - wolves demons - said. Was it true? The temporary lake queens fear had all been reborn. Any progress on squashing them was obliterated. Silver dusted ears laid flat against her head that hung low. Mercury eyes set upon the path in front of her but did little to actually register what was there. Her mind ran rampid causing her to not pay attention to where she was walking. Some rocks had been moved by some hibernating animal and there was a sharp jagged one sticking just enough out of the snow that it could have been avoided. This however would not be the case for the large female. Yelpping with pain Moonshadow was pulled back to reality as a sharp pain invaded her paw. The jagged rock had made its way between her toes, slicing her paw pad as well as the skin between her toes. The crimson red blood stained the snow around the rock as dark haunches sat upon the frozen ground. Silently cursing at her self for not watching where she was going, Moon did her best to assess the damage.
