@Eirian <3 These two are such a strange combo and I love it.

Gawd, everything hurt. Perhaps this really wasn't the best of ideas. Cas was pretty sure they weren't even halfway to the new pack's location, and she was ready to collapse. She'd lost weight again, and as the warmer weather blew in and spring approached, her fur was shedding and her ribs were showing. And, though she was no expert on the inner workings of a woman's body, but she should have been approaching sexual maturity, and she wasn't feeling or smelling any different. She still wanted Niles around, but not for any other reason besides the fact that she adored him and wanted his company. There was just... nothing different. She wondered if it was just another thing to do with her sickness; if she was infertile or whatever. It didn't truly matter, though. She wouldn't have been able to have pups without dying, regardless. It was probably better that she couldn't have them at all.

She had wandered away from the others, including Niles, because she desperately needed some time to drop the ruse and let herself rest. She'd found herself drawn to the freedom of Luna Hill, where there were few trees and she could feel like she wasn't stuck. Her mind was doing something strange - she bet she had a fever, because though it was warmer than she'd been used to recently, she was trembling and hot and cold at the same exact time. Plus everything was kinda foggy. Not much made perfect sense at that moment; she wasn't one-hundred-percent sure why she had wandered so far away anymore, and her mouth was dry and sticky from thirst, but her stomach was rolling and she wasn't even sure if she could put water in it at the moment.

A soft whine escaped her throat as she limped up underneath the single tree on the top of the hill and pressed her flank into it as she lay down. Her glassy eyes scanned the blurry fields below her; at the cherry trees in the distance and the blackberry fields where she met Niles. She didn't realized she was whimpering with every shallow, panted breath, and barely registered that there was a very familiar scent in the air - a wolf she knew, but couldn't place a name to in her muddled mind. She didn't even lift her head from her miserable position on the ground, and though she was too dehydrated to produce tears, her breathing was stuttered and hitched in pain and from the exertion of climbing the hill.

She was glad nobody else was around to see it.

Eirian Asurn

"I could have spared you the misery had you accepted my offer the last time we met, Castel." The masculine voiced crooned in a honeyed tone, copper silhouette seemingly manifesting from behind the general direction the sickly woman laid out of thin air from among the shadows that dappled the hillside while rays of sunlight filtered from above. Even the would be noise made by his paws crunching against the snow present still upon the ground underfoot was masked due to the unseasonably warm weather softening the snowpack. Had the setting been nightfall the Asurn could have easily been mistaken for that of an ethereal spirit.

Be it fate or poor luck on her behalf to have crossed paths with the devil again, ultimately it was the fleeting sound of her whimpers and familiarity of her perfume that had piqued Eirian's interest enough to lure him away from the unmarked grave; a place he would return to again shortly, where the first abomination casualty by his handiwork lay. Two graves should have been nestled side by side that day, but sadly one had slipped from his grip albeit there wasn't a doubt in Eirian's mind that that boy's time was coming soon enough. Patience was a virtue.

Rounding the rugged trunk, citrus irises lowered their gaze upon the almost unrecognizable frame they were met with while russet ears tipped forward as more whimpers fell from the woman's lips after each stuttered breath she took. Surveying her frame, Eirian noted the thinned skin that seemed to barely cloth her ribs which protruded underneath. Fur disheveled and patchy from shedding. Clearly, the woman was in pain and down on her luck. "Anyone tell you that you look like shit?" A creamy brow quirked, not an ounce of gentleness lacing his words, but when had he ever been one to speak delicately?

For a few moments, she couldn't be sure that the russet male was even real. But then it hit her - the scent, the rudeness of his tone, and his tactless words. She was no longer alone and therefore it was not permitted that she should be allowed to behave like she was in pain. The silver-dusted girl ignored her hydra of a disease and forced herself to try and rise to her paws and face him properly, but came to find that she would be unable to do that. Her legs gave out and she flopped back down on her stomach with a muffled "Oof" of pain.

She cast her blue eyes upward to attempt to meet his fiery ones, trying to seem defiant and capable even though she just ended up looking miserable and sick. It didn't help that the fever burning through her body made it seem like there were three of him, standing before her.

Her teeth chattered as she spoke. "Anyone t-tell you th-that I don'-don't give a sh-shit?" she breathed in reply, her voice raspy and... well, rather weak, if she were honest with herself. Not that she'd admit to such a thing. She was too prideful for that. "You're a di-dick," she tacked on, tensing her shoulders up and pressing harder against the tree to her flank in order to ride out a wave of fresh pain that lanced through her body.

She pressed her muzzle into the slush underneath her, the body heat radiating from her being melting the snow and creating mud that clung to her fur. Her teeth clicked together harder and she wrapped her tail around her hock. "C-c-co-old," she whimpered, unaware that she'd spoken aloud but too far into her delirium to have cared even if she had.

Eirian Asurn

For a moment an expression of worry replaced the amusement that his handsome features previously held watching the woman come to terms that she was no longer alone, intent on hiding the extent of her sickness by rising onto legs too weak to hold any amount of weight upon them. A couple harsh shakes and down she went back into the snow on her stomach with an audible sound of pain. Defiantly, blue eyes cast themselves skyward to hold the fiery hue of his own and in that moment any signs of caring were whisked away from Eirian's mug. An Asurn did not care for others, especially a sickly creature. But if nobody was around to witness it...

Momentary thoughts were cut short by the sound of her voice chattering with each word spoke, russet ears swiveling forward to listen to her equally tactless response to his former words. Calling him a dick in the end. At this, a snort of amusement left his nostrils in the form of a couple wisp of cloud vapor. There was the Castel he knew from back within the thicket. "Maybe I am, but you can't deny I'm your favorite dick." He then added before movement on her behalf had him silenced again, ears splayed back as he watched.

Castel claimed to be cold, but looking closer Eirian couldn't miss the muddied snow underneath her frame that suggested otherwise. Be it a fever, he was no medic to know, but obviously, this disease she had was worse than he bothered to comprehend. Perhaps he'd have the chance to repay the owed favor now. Regardless, the copper male was finding himself in quite the uncomfortable position as he rounded to wiggle his larger frame into the gap between her frame and that of the tree's trunk, offering the woman what warmth her body bothered to accept from him while laying his head on the top of her shoulder, attempting to keep her in place and ease the chill she was experiencing.
