Zahira Asurn
Rank challenge for @Piety also tagging @Craw as you will be needed later... This was what we talked about going out of hand.. fell free to have your wolf watch but please don't interfere as Craw will be doing that once it gets out too far XD Also take your time Becca no need to rush this just though I get the ball in the air XD

Midday
Sunny
24 ° F, -5 ° C

She already made up her mind, and yet there were a single thing that needs to be dealt with first.

Zahira knew that this pack was a lost cause, the whispers of more wolves were running and as it currently stood the pack could barely support itself as it was. She had lost her interest in the monadnock, even the female lead seemed foolish and stupid to her now. A wolf whom she had actually had a good eye to when she joined the pack.

Standing in the middle of the open space atop the monadnock she closed her eyes for a second gathering her thoughts while feeling the wind pull at her fur and the midday sun shining brightly yet still much to week to scare away winters bony fingers that kept their iron grip on the lowlands. She looked at the colonial den taking in the scent around her, she followed the white woman's scent back to the common area and now she stood there red for relaxed and red eyes staring coldly into the air. It was time, time for the Azurn woman to stop crawling around at the bottom.

"Piety, I know you're here" she spoke voice holding strength and toxin dripping with every word. Her tail stood tall over her back and eyes shone with excitement for the trouble to come.

Piety Santoro
Becu and Wolfsi let me know if anything should be changed <3

Her day had been spent well so far. The pale woman had found spare time to relax with @Morganna. They had done a brief patrol before heading back to the den to escape the cold. Neither were overly talkative in the presence of one another but they shared a few jokes (topics like Pi's missing ear and Morg's luck, or lack thereof with hunting were always present) and the idea of seeing if there was something to hunt. Food had been scarce and the pale woman simply marked it off as winter's job.

Truthfully, Piety was sad when her time was cut off short with Morganna. But the sickly voice that her name came from let her knew she couldn't write this off. With a polite, submissive lick to the Archer's chin, she promised to see her again later and slunk out of the den.

She didn't have to go very far to see the red hued woman. Zahira. Piety noticed everything about the scene. How the red woman's body was claiming dominance and how her tone had been toxic. The Santoro gladly lifted her tail as her hackles raised. She wasn't wasting any time letting Zahira know that this wasn't her place to try and be dominant. Piety ranked higher above and something in the moment made her blood boil.

"Zahira," The pale female's voice held no signs of her usual kindness. "I am indeed here. What is it you need?" Her eyes narrowed to look at her packmate in the face.

@Piety should i tagg you or is that not necessary??

As the white woman appeared from the dark depths pf the pack den Zahiras eyes was fast set on hers. She was done crawling in the dirt for this weak, pathetic and useless piece of meat. However, the red woman could not help but let a wicked smile creep onto her tainted lips as Piety took dominance. Oh, how lovely that the bloody bastard child would even attempt it, after all that was the fun in a rank challenge if the challenged did not put up a fight? She smiled not sweetly but tainted like burned shucker burning hot though flesh.

"Oh my dear isn't it obvious? or are you just that blunt?" She asked her words still toxic as her head dropped down in front of her throat, ears pinned down to her skull and lips pulled back into an evil grin. "I won't yeah spot" and no I'm not asking nicely  she held back the last bit no need to push it any further and with that the red woman lunged forward Aiming to ram her own body against the white woman to hopefully push her off balance or her feet should shoudl she be extra lucky and grab the upper hand in the fight.

Morganna Archer-Lyall
Morg is just observing at this point. Feel free to skip her to keep this moving.

Peach eyes narrowed as the voice called for Piety. She wasn't a fan of that tone and it was with sneaking suspicion that she rose after the dove and silently followed her from the den. She didn't expect the Asurn to notice her, she rarely did the other times Morganna had been watching her and this was one she still hadn't quite managed to figure out. Was she about to show her true colours flew closer to Pierus than Eirian? Well now that just wouldn't do.

Her judgement wouldn't come so fast. She was pleased to see Piety counter the other woman's dominant display, but then she stopped to talk and Morganna sighed with a click of her tongue against the back of her teeth. She would have to teach the woman how to better manage those beneath her.

When Zahira countered with shit talking Morganna was momentarily confused. Not only were words a waste of breath but they were a chance for your opponent to strike, although she supposed, Piety was a soft one, and it would probably take more to prompt her to violence. It wouldn't take long for Zahira to change tactics though. After Mittani's move on @Lorcan, Morganna had every intention of watching this one closely.

You'll find me burning bridges
searching for some sense of distance
tearing out post trauma stitches

"are you just that blunt?"

She was taken back and there was more harshness. Without a thought Piety growled, unaware that Morganna had followed after her. Without any time to offer to talk it out, or even think about making the first move, Zahira's form met Piety's body. She stumbled momentarily but didn't let her eyes fall off of the challenger. Everything was a flurry as the pale Santoro harshly snapped her teeth in the direction of Zaharia's muzzle. It was a miss but the hard click of her teeth was the warning sign she wasn't backing down so easily.

Her stance squared, neck level and good ear pinned visibly pinned back against her head. The pale woman wondered why in the hell this heathen thought she deserved the position. Piety had never even formally met her until now. Hell, this wasn't even formal.

The Santoro also didn't know why the idea of a challenge on top of the monadnock seemed appropriate. The edges, stones, and slippery ground all made for unneeded disadvantages. And if one of them was to fall (out of pure accident or purpose) then what? It was in that moment she briefly realized her opponent may be much more dangerous than she had first anticipated, but there was no way she was backing out.

Craw
Also just getting him in here, feel free to skip until he's needed :)

@Mittani's over-eager challenge against @Lorcan had been an unfortunate event if only because the culture difference between Whitestone and the white wolf was still too big. It had come as exactly no surprise to Craw himself, and he had made as such clear to his old friend when they had spoken about it afterwards. Mittani had never been a part of his pack, not in any formal sense, and as such having any kind of true authority over the strong-willed man still felt bizarre. Nobody told the great Mittani what to do, after all. Craw wondered just how long it would take for the old warmonger to strike off and continue writing his own grand tale. Craw just had to hope that neither of them burned any bridges along the way. That was one enemy that the spider absolutely did not want to make, for a multitude of reasons; not only did the smaller poet's reputation and capabilities make him anxious (when viewed from the eyes of opposition), but that went entirely against all the strong history they shared.

But two years was a long time, and wolves changed. Craw certainly had.

When he heard the call for Piety's rank, his mind drifted to the Asurn woman, and he did not immediately feel concerned at the prospect. He knew little about the red-pelted Zahira save for that she was cool with the pack but pulled her weight, and if anything Craw thought it a good opportunity to see another, more ambitious side of her. Utterly oblivious to her ulterior motives and hidden opinions of the pack, Craw trotted steadily towards where the call had come from, seeing the dark form of Morganna in front of him heading in the same direction. The white and red wolves were visible in the near distance and he could already see their exchange of dominance displays, and he himself heard nothing untoward yet; one lower-ranked wolf challenging the authority of their direct superior.

By the time he came to stand next to Morganna, the scuffle had begun, noting the subtle hints of tension in his mate's body language. Unlike Mittani, Craw had no idea what to expect from Zahira - or even Piety, to some degree - and wouldn't intervene in a fair contest. Nudging the soft fur behind Morganna's ear with a soft rumble, he took a seat, as yet unconcerned.

Zahira Asurn

The red woman cared little for the spectacle they drew, why would she? She liked it binge in the spot lite, it fueled her need to win, her need to dominate. A teaching that from a young age had been banged into her head. Asurn's did not crawl, they rose to stand at the top.

As the white woman's teeth snapped together a bit too close for comfort to the red woman's muzzle. But oh how she enjoyed this, the display and most of all the roaring sound of blood in her ears. And had it not been for the seriousness of the moment she would have laughed like a true maniac.

With a grin on her lips, Zahira sought to return the favor, grab the other by her own mussel and force her face in the dirt where it rightfully belonged. Unfortunately, she moved a bit too quickly snapping her jaws together around noting but thin air, with a loud crack.  Seemed like she leav a message, of not fooling around, of her own as a low rumbling growl echoed from her throat. Her eyes locked on the other pale woman she smiled, not a calm or soothing smile. But a daring, laughing and taunting smile. she wanted to know what this wretched white mutt was good for and she wanted to know it now.

asdklj i apologize for almost forgetting about this :c I'll try to keep more focus next time @Zahira @Morganna @Craw
You are no exception
there are no reruns
justify your reason
now it's my turn

They both missed which was a true relief to Piety. She much rather they both lose the chance than Zahira has the chance. Not to mention by a quick whiff she could tell both of her superiors were close by watching. She couldn't take her eyes off of the heathen, though.

Her next move was aimed at the female's muzzle again. It was a hasty decision but it came to use this time. Her teeth finally met flesh. Now she just had to maintain a grip on the red woman. Show the damned demon who was the boss here. Well, besides Morganna and Craw (who she had become used to lingering around both of them for some time now).

Her good ear was pinned forward showing her aggression and displeasure with the woman's choice. Even Piety's lush white tail had begun to creep over her back like a banner of warning. As long as Piety could hold onto flesh she would. There was no other option really. It was either fight tooth and nail or fail Morganna by simply handing over her rank. The Santoro had already seen the woman mad, had the missing ear for a reminder, so she wasn't very keen on upsetting her again.

not certain if the "open" aim was okay shoot me a pm or something and i will change it, @Piety will do a post  before we will need you to jump in with @Craw

The white one took the chance of her failed attack to aim yet another attack at the red woman's muzzle. But this time it seemed that the odds were in the pale woman's favor.  Teeth meet the flesh of her muzzle, a hold. Zahira growled deeply from her throat for a second before she pulled herself back no warning given as teeth tore flesh.

Pain exploded from the wound to her muzzle, blood trickled down the sides and eyes blazing with fjury. For though the damage was her doing, it did not stop her from blaming the pale maggot in front of her. Maggots like her should know their place. she snarled tail still held high as she lunged for the pale woman, but she no longer had any interest in rank nor dominance. She wanted her blood coloring whitestone red. She wanted to see her bleed, see her yelp in pain and fear like any good maggot.

Seeing pure red Zahira aimed for the first thing she could see, or rather she been seeing, the head.  Face, ear, eye, neck or shoulder she did not care she just wanted to see the other woman bleed.
