It was ugly and horribly scabbed, but the wound on Pip's shoulder was finally starting to show good signs of healing. She was finally to the point where she could extend her leg in a full stride without stretching and cracking the brittle healing. Mostly, Pip was relieved not to be cleaning oozing blood from her fur. It smelled and tasted bad and made her feel as sickly as she had been in the initial period following the incident.

The fur would likely never return to the area. While the little mute never thought of herself as vain, the realization saddened her. It left her wondering if Kjell would be bothered by it. Thoughts of Kjell continued to pour in. She'd been unsuccessful in finding him since that time following his attack on that devil of a wolf he threw into the pit. Pip hadn't visited the place since; she didn't want to know if his carcass was still down there rotting or if his ghost has escaped the depths to haunt the lands. But had her dark knight found some other trouble. Was he alright? She could hardly leave the territory and scour all of Relic Lore on her own, especially not in this condition.

Pip was only just starting to put some weight back on as well. Ophelia's brutal attack had forced the mute back many of the lengths she'd made since first arriving in Grizzly Hollow. Even after the pup's apologies and multiple gifts, it had taken weeks more for Pip to begin eating with the pack. And by eating with the pack, that meant grabbing a little something for herself and carrying it a safe distance away to munch on quietly. In the presence of her packmates, but alone, had always been her eating habit anyway. At least now she was back to being in their presence.

In a subtly limping gait that had become the norm for her of late, Pip padded into the heart of Grizzly Hollow with a dead hare. It was plump and fat, a rarity in the heart of winter, and a testament to her growing hunting skills and tenacity in the face of her lingering pain. Rather than keep it for herself, the little mute set it just inside the main den for anyone else to grab before going to rest beneath the base of a tree in plain sight. That, too, was a change. It was the closest Pip had been to the main den since that day. Inwardly, she battled with whether or not she would return tonight to sleep alongside her loves ones once more or subject herself to another night of brutal cold.

Tyne Kersey

It had been about a month since his reacceptance into the hallows and the tawny man still kept to himself for the most part. While he wasn't opposed to interaction but he wasn't necessarily ready to approach others just yet. He also had kept his distance from his age-mate, not much by choice so much as she was harder to find than usual. Knowing how she was back in Bella Coola Tyne allowed her her distance but made sure to keep tabs on her. Having decided to take a rest after a particularly lengthy hunt he headed to the main den. Maybe he could meet a new wolf or two.

As he neared the den the scent of a fresh caught rabbit filled his nostrils. Someone must be eating he thought. He then considered turning around to allow them to eat until Pips scent mixed with that of the hares. He had been meaning to check up on her anyways. So he entered the clearing opposite of the small sea wolf easily seeing her beneath a tree. Golden eyes noticed that the hare was just inside the den instead of at Pips feet. Maybe she hasn't caught it? What ever the reason Tyne gave the woman a small smile as he walked over to her. He brushed his muzzle along hers in greeting before steeping back and placing his large haunces on the frozen ground. He glanced around the clearing for a moment before turning back towards the only family he had. "How's your shoulder doing?" He asked noticing it was healing and had scabbed over. It looked a lot better than it did when she first found him. While he knew she couldn't fully tell him in detail, he also knew that she still could communicate. Having grown up with her the Kersey man knew how to interpret her language pretty well.
