Kajika Tallis
@Tagg

The cove was not how he had left it, more seemed wrong with it then it ever had in the past. He wondered when it had all gone wrong and worried it couldn't be fixed but most of all he felt an anger inside of him that he'd never felt before. It was an anger that was quickly turning him into the type of wolf his parents had become. He had left to not become like them but recent events had changed him.

First he'd found Des murdered and had vowed that the man who did it would die by him when he finally found him. Then Moonshadow, his heart had broken for her when she delivered two stillborn pups. He worried about her, that she would fall into the same dark place that he and Namid had fallen into. The dark man did not want that for her she didn't deserve the suffering that he and their alpha had put themselves through. Kajika was not worried for the tawny father because like him he was hell bent on revenge for the lost pups. The beta had seen it in his eyes after the birth of Chan and had silently agreed he would help the man find who had hurt Moonshadow so badly she lost two of her children.

For now he remained in the cove tending to Moonshadow and trying to make his home feel like home again. It was hard when he knew he needed to be out there searching down two murderers which only caused the anger to build stronger in him, he felt it necessary to blow off some steam so he made his way to Moonshadow's den and after sticking his head in to check on her he spoke with Tagg who was outside the den preparing the pelts from earlier to go into the den. “Are you able to slip away for a bit?” He asked the new father.

OOC!

Yesterday had been… stressful.  What was meant to be a joyous occasion, a cause for celebration, had turned sour when two of his children had been born lifeless.  He’d spent the rest of the day curled around his only surviving son and mate, comforting her when she awoke and helping look after the little one.

Today he needed fresh air.  He was struggling to keep the anger hidden away.  He knew there would come a day when it would be useful, but today was not that day.  He needed to keep his head straight. He needed to be able to support Moon.

So he was currently working to remove the fur from the fox he’d caught the previous morning.  Its pelt would serve as padding for the den, so his mate and son – using that word was still so strange, yet brought him such joy – would be comfortable. To nobody’s surprise, Kajika arrived to check on them.  After popping his head into the den, the beta turned to the veteran. “Are you able to slip away for a bit?”

Tagg looked down at the fox between his feet and nodded, stretching as he stood.  He let Moon know he was going for a walk with Kajika, but would be nearby if she needed him.  That taken care of, he turned back to his friend. “Where are we going?”

Kajika Tallis

The previous day did not turn out how he would have imagined it if it has Moonshadow would have three healthy pups in a pile at her side. She had been left with one, a strong healthy male with two loving parents and a godfather who would love him too. He was elated to have been asked to be the godfather to little Chan, he wouldn't let Moonshadow down where her son was concerned. It was a sad deed that he and Vespertio had taken part in so that Moonshadow and Tagg would not have to. Burying the stillborns had only fueled the anger that someone could hurt his friend when she was pregnant.

He needed an outlet and he knew Tagg needed it to and he aimed to help them both. He couldn't imagine what the tawny man was going through having to deal with the loss of his son and daughter. Knowing Tagg as he did Kajika knew then needed an outlet as well.

He couldn't steal the new father way without checking on his ebony friend and godson so while Tagg worked on the fox pelt he stuck his head into the den. He worried about Moonshadow and what she might be thinking and if at all possible he wanted to prevent her from falling into the dark place. Part of him felt he might not be able to, that like Namid she would have to get through it on her own.

Once he was sure all was well in the den he turned his attention to Tagg to see if he had a little time. After speaking with Moonshadow the question of where they were going was raised, “I thought a little distance from here where there is a small clearing and we won’t disturb Moonshadow and Chan. We both need to do something with what we are feeling and I thought a friendly spar would help the both of us. What do you say?”

Tagg didn’t want to stray too far from Moonshadow, but Kajika’s offer of a spar caught his interest. It had been far too long since his last scuffle – if he recalled correctly, it had been with Moon on a spinning disk of ice.  He glanced back at the den briefly before nodding and following his friend. “A spar sounds really good.” He tried to smile, but couldn’t bring his face to make the expression.  He was sure all he succeeded in creating was a painful grimace.

As they reached the clearing, the veteran turned to his beta. “I’m sure you remember that when we went looking for Moon, we agreed if she was hurt there would be blood.” He said as he crouched into a ready stance. “I want you to know that the same applied for Des. When you find him, I’m there.” There was no doubt in his mind that they would figure out who had killed their packmate, and that Kajika would go after him.  Tagg would do the same – was planning on doing the same. He just didn’t want his friend to do it alone.

That could be dangerous, after all. Besides, it wasn’t like this was the russet man’s first time in this sort of situation.  His experience would likely turn out to be useful to the wolf standing opposite him.

Ooc: Setting the rolls up after I post this.

For their arena Kajika had chosen a small clearing amongst the trees that was within hearing range if the den so they could hear if they were needed but far enough away they wouldn't disturb Moonshadow and Chan. A smile crossed his inky lips when Tagg agreed to a spar with him, they both needed this. “Great! I think it will help us both,” Kajika agreed with a nod of his head. He led Tagg off to the clearing that they would be using.

As they got into position Tagg spoke once more of the promise they had made to each other when they had set out looking for Moonshadow. Kajika nodded, “I remember as if it were yesterday, I'm not sure blood it the only thing I want from the wolf that hurt her now.” Kajika knew his friend was going to suffer, she was suffering now with the loss of her children. He wanted the wolf that had caused her to suffer so much to suffer just as much if not more. Then Tagg brought up Des and what had happened to her, Kajika's gaze dropped to his paws as he heard his friend promise to help find the man that had murdered her. “Thank you friend,” he said raising his gaze to meet that of Taggs, “I want to be the one to end his life as I am sure you want to be the one to end the life of the wolf that hurt Moonshadow.” He hoped that the new father would understand why and would agree.

Having Tagg along on the hunt for Des's murderer would be helpful and having his help in taking the man down would prove invaluable. When it was all said and done though he wanted to be the one to avenge his love. Kajika now in position to begin the apartment gave a nod to Tagg to signal he was ready.

Tagg’s assumption that his friend was just as angry as him was confirmed when the beta said blood would not be enough. The new father shared that sentiment, but at the same time he was afraid to go down that path. The trail was filled with the ghosts of his past, the things he’d done returning to haunt him. The veteran had barely made it back into the light when he’d returned to Fallen Tree Cove.  He wasn’t sure he would be able to come back from the darkness a second time, even with Moon and Chan there to light the way. He couldn’t go to that place with a son depending on him. Not without assurance that he could do it.

Now was not the time to think of it, as Kajika accepted his offer to help avenge Des.  He nodded; he’d expected as much. He held the same right in regards to whoever attacked Moon. He just smiled grimly. “They had better watch their backs.” He noted calmly before returning to his ready stance. It had been far too long since his last spar; he expected that he would be rusty. He wasn’t sure how Kajika was, but he expected that it would be a pretty even playing field. There was no snow on the ground to mess him up this time.

Kajika Tallis

The day they had gone to find Moonshadow they had agreed that whoever hurt her would pay with their own blood.  He had seen the suffering that Namid had gone through and imagined Moonshadow would do the same.  There was nothing he could do to stop it as he believed it was how she would have to mourn her lost children. All he could do was be there to reassure her and make sure that Chan was okay though he doubted very much that he would have to worry. He was of the firm belief that Moonshadow would be a great mother to her son.  However, he felt it best to make it clear what his intentions were when it came to the one who had hurt his friends.

As for the man who had killed Des, Kajika wanted him to suffer to as he was sure that he'd left her out in the cold to die alone.  It broke the beta’s heart to think of it so instead he focused on finding the murderer.  He would not have to do it alone which made it seem like they might actually have the chance to catch the man but he wanted to make one thing clear.  When the found the man responsible he would be left for the dark man to dispatch.  A nod was given at Taggs words, “Yes they had.” That said it was time to start their spar which led Kajika to fall back into a defensive stance, he would start the spar. The move he chose started as he looked over Taggs right shoulder, a move he’d tried with Moonshadow, once he thought he had the man's attention on the right he dove toward the left in an attempt to grab the man's scruff and overpower him to the ground.

Fight Post 1/3

Word Count: 212

They died the day they decided to mess with our family. Tagg thought, but he didn’t voice this sentiment out loud.  Not yet. He knew he would spend the next few months – at least – dreaming about hunting down and destroying a faceless wolf with blood on its paws and his dead children at its feet.  He knew that though the perpetrator hadn’t actually killed his pups directly, the attack was the cause of their inability to live and in his mind, there was no difference.  The strange aggressor might as well have slipped into their den and tasted their blood for all he was concerned.

He couldn’t dwell on such thoughts, as Kajika quickly attacked.  To the veteran’s surprise, the beta didn’t go for his blind side.  He was able to easily side-step the lunge and counterattack, bringing his jaws down around the darker wolf’s scruff.  He pushed his weight against his opponent to shove him off balance, satisfaction seeping through him when he succeeded.  The russet man released his friend and danced back, giving him a chance to recover his balance and strike again.

This sparring match was designed to distract the both of them from the unpleasant thoughts that had been plaguing them.  Might as well let it go on.

Kajika Tallis

So many times since his return he wondered could he have prevented Des's death or Moonshadow's attack. He knew that it would have been impossible even had he been in the cove. They still moved about freely and it would be impossible to watch both women at the same time which he would have to do. He was only one wolf and could only do so much not to mention he had his own duties to attend to. It was plain and simple Des’s murderer, Moonshadow's attack had happened because they came across the wrong wolves by no fault of their own and bad things had happened to them. There was no reason to beat himself up over it, he would save that for when he found him.

Kajika had made his first move and only realized his mistake after he was already in motion. Instead of going Taggs weakness he had gone for his good side. It ended up with him on the ground with Taggs jaws having a strong grip on his scruff. He had completely missed the target because the tawny man had been able to sidestep him. Thankfully his friend allowed him a moment to regain his feet and recover.

Kajika went again this time his plan of attack did include the tawny man's blind side. Which Kajika felt was wrong considering it was like pointing out that Tagg had a big weakness. However, this too ended up with him on the ground.
