Shalour Veneroux
All welcome! but special mention for @Hilara !

The sun rose high past the point of noon as the creamy white wolf kept low to the ground as he prowled through the the tree line, the fresh scent of rabbit caused his mouth to water, it had been weeks now since his own self imposed exile with his younger sister, the security of a pack had brought them plenty of meals within the vast plains that had been called home, but now, all the two had were each other, @Hilara was coming along tremendously in her hunting, but, a soft sigh escaped the large wolf, she was still prone to brashness and it had cost them a meal or two.

As he came to the edge of the trees, Shalour sucked in a  breath at the scene, a vast and vibrant field of scarlet red laid below the slight rise he was perched upon. The scent he had been tracking momentarily lost as he took in the scene, a moment of brief piece from the constant strain of trying to maintain the survival of two. He paused, the somewhat scrawny brute closed his eyes, trying to enjoy the brief lull in the constant demand, but he couldn’t stay for too long, after a few moments, he started to move again, scrambling down the hill, landing with a soft thump upon the flowers and grass below.

A slight grimace escaped the Valley wolf, the thump of his weight against the foliage could have alerted nearby prey, He glanced around, searching for a suitable surface that he could mentally bash his head against for his lapse in vigilance, knowing he could have just cost them both a meal.

BWAH I NEED A TABLE FOR HER

Word Count: 238

Her feet hurt, but Hilly couldn’t keep from bouncing about with her usual vigor. Sitting still caused bitterness to well up within her, and she forced herself to continue moving. She knew it was driving her brother crazy, but she didn’t want to think of what would might happen if she sat still. Her hyperactivity was hard to curb anyway.

Ahead of her, Shalour paused. Hilly flounced up beside him, and stopped. The scenery was beautiful. Her tongue lolled out of the side of her mouth as she grinned at the fiery color. “Think of all the food, Lori!” She yapped happily before jumping forward and scrambling down the hill. She didn’t stop to think about how the noise might scare away prey.

Her tail wagged hard enough to wiggle her body as she turned back to her brother, stupid smile still on her face. She laughed at him for falling. She couldn’t really comprehend an end to their flight, but for some reason the red fields around them made her feel better. She had hope for the future for the first time since Shalour had come to her and told her they needed to run. The first time since they’d slipped from their home in the dark of night and he’d explained that they had to go because their family – their family – was going to kill them.

Things were going to get better; she could feel it.
