Chanting Chase One for sorrow

It was always something, wasn't it? First the field had been invaded by squirrels and now it seemed as though the timbers had a magpie problem. How was he supposed to hunt with all those damn birds screeching and cawing at him? They darkened the canopy above him, like a squirming feathery swarm. He felt their gaze, like hundreds of thorns, digging into his back as he weaved through the trees, fruitlessly searching for something to put in the caches.

What had bought them here and why were they making such a fuss? Scowling skywards, Askan willed them to take flight, to bugger off and go back to where they came from. But of course they didn't, they merely stared down at him and chattered amongst themselves like they knew something he didn't. How irritating. They were just birds, annoying things, but the idea of someone, anything nattering about him just made his skin crawl. He'd come out here-unsurprisingly- to seek some solitude and to his dismay there was none to be found.

"Clear off, would you!?"He hissed, his tone just as scathing as the look in his eyes.

They didn't listen, no one ever listened. For all the yelling and shouting he did, he always felt as though his words were left unheard. Such a depressing thought, since when had he been debbie downer? Forever, or at least a few years, he supposed. He just pretended he was, which was a lot easier said then done. But he was feeling better, better than he did before anyway.Or at least he would feel better if it wasn't for these damn noisy buggers!
