He had agreed to take one of their newer members out on a little excursion. She seemed rather eager to learn the area and the older male had no problem leaving the borders to stretch his legs. He trusted Iyes to take care of the place without his ever-watchful eye of the Heights. The aging male had faith that their little training sessions were truly taking root in her and she would be a noble guardian in no time.

They had been walking in no particular direction for a good while. Silence had settled between the two of them with ease. Heigen wasn't one to push others into an unnecessary conversation or a boring round small talk. Of course, he knew that this trip would allow him some time to bond with the large female better. He wondered if she too would wish to be a guardian. Especially with such size!

"So," He started off with a kind smile. "what brought you to the mountains?" His head turned around to get a better look at the mostly ebony female. The large Colette knew not everyone was cut out for life on the mountain but by picking a home on the mountains he figured they either were or they would get used to it real quick.

Abaddon

She wanted to go out and scan the area and figured the best way to do so would be with a company that was familiar with the area. He was an older gentleman which left her with the impression that he might be the most knowledgeable. Abba was glad that he didn't seem to hesitate or even put up much of a fight when she asked. They had left that morning and with their relatively close sizes, no one seemed to lag behind or dash ahead. It must have been mid afternoon when they got to the area they were in now.

Abaddon was pleased with the silence that settled between them. She had come out here to learn, not chatter away until she had no more air in her lungs. If she had wanted that she would have gone to harass some wolves in the lands of Aurora Heights and tried to spark up a conversation. Yet she could never get what she wanted. His voice reached her ears and as she turned her head from looking at some dry plants she caught his brown gaze staring at her, waiting. "I grew up in a mountain area. Kind of makes this place already like half a home." She offered one of her well mastered false smiles.

Her eyes caught sight of something promising though and she didn't wait for his approval or words. It took some sure footing but eventually, she found herself near a body of water under the rocky surface. She offered a loud bark to the male if he hadn't already followed. "Get a look at this!"

Her answer was as good as any. Hadn't he felt a particular pull to the mountains due to almost the same reason? The sturdy structure of mountains was more appealing than any forest, field or river. "Seems we have something in common then." The older male rumbled happily. He wanted to bond it seemed they were going to! "I think a lot of us were mountain dwellers brought back to them just to form Aurora Heights." He wasn't a hundred percent if that was true but he knew that Kyna and himself (now this ebony woman too) had all been living on a mountain in their past.

As he heard her call he wasted no time in trotting to her. He wasn't as nimble as he used to be but he managed. The sight was rather nice and Heigen was glad that she had called him to this. "My oh my." He hummed softly as he walked along the water's edge. It was like a hidden treasure! "I don't think I've ever seen this before." The older male's tail swayed behind him with ease. His gaze briefly moved from the water to look over at his scouting company. Maybe she had seen this before or at least had something to say about it.

Without much thought he lowered his head to lap at the water. It was a little bit salty but not too bad. He assumed that it might have just been from being around all these rocks and their minerals.

Dread Flint
After his sister had left in a huff, Dread had spent his time wandering around the eastern side of the mountains before truly going up. Truth be told, he had been drawn to them the moment he stepped into the lands but everything was so new, he’d spent more time roaming than anything.

But upon coming across Abba’s scent as he climbed the mountain, he couldn’t help but be curious and follow it. He lost and found it again over the coming days however, he soon found a strong trail to follow and follow her did. Her’s crisscrossed with a few other wolves, though that may have been because he drew too close to a pack border... (though he wasn’t stupid enough to cross it, like he had last time and only kept close to the edge.) The freshest trail had her and another wolf heading towards a water source. He kept as quiet as he could as he apraoched the two.

A smirk crossed his maw as he spotted the two next to the water and though he knew better than to push his sister into the water, the other male was fair game...

A loud splash and the sound of his low laughter bounced around as he pushed the male into the water. It wasn’t deep looking water and even if it was well, it’s not his fault if the man couldn’t swim.

Abaddon
She decided to examine the surrounding surface while Heigen enjoyed the water. The large female slowly moved around the water's shore and made to sure to listen to anything else the male might say to her. She wasn't fond of his small talk but it certainly wasn't the worse thing for her to listen to.

Yet the sound that suddenly met her ears was awful. A splash before the thrashing of water. She turned around as her yellow eyes widened to see an all too familiar with Heigen below his form. A scowl crossed her face. "What's the point in doing that to him? He hasn't done you wrong." Her words were harsh as she simply watched from the sideline. Certainly, the older male could free himself without her help. Abaddon knew that her brother was far more unpredictable than her but she couldn't grasp why he would hurt a stranger when she was right there for the taking. He could have easily pushed her into the water or even full fledged attacked her. Abaddon heavily doubted he didn't strike her out of love or care.

Her eyes watched carefully to see what would unfold. If he brother took things too far she would have no problem using her weight against him.

The attack on him was unexpected. Before he knew it he was in the water and while it wasn't deep he felt panic swell up in him. Who was this creature? He could make out the dark fur but it couldn't be Abaddon, could it? Hadn't the dark female gone her own way to check out the area? Heigen was positive it couldn't be her but with the water filling him and his thrashing he was willing to consider all of his options.

Perhaps had it not been such a surprise he would have been more skilled in his fighting back against the sudden attacker. He did try to throw a paw out in order to hit anything of his attacker. Heigen was completely unsure if it would even work, really. The older male tried to put his most positive thoughts in his mind. Surely it was his pack mate Abaddon and surely she would come help him if she could. She had seemed so nice. Well, at least kind enough to be willing to lend a paw to a pack mate.

He managed to raise his head from the water and the site was confusing, to say the least. The figure about him was close to Abaddon but the white markings were off. His eyes caught her figure off to the side as she stood there seemingly doing nothing. What was this?

note: Dread is standing over Heigen, Heigen kinda tries to kick him (if he succeeds is up to you), head lifts up from the water to see shit goin' down

Dread Flint
At her question of why he would do that, Dread swung his head to look at Abbadon as the other man struggled to gather his bearings. “For fun, why else would I do it?” He shared his sister’s thought, that yes, he was much more unpredictable than her. And why didn’t he push her in? Wel, he knew she’d probably try take him with her or toss her weight around. And he honestly didn’t feel like dealing with her. A stranger on the other paw...

A flailing limb did managed to hit him as the man did manage to surface and Dread looked back at him, glancing down at him with a glint in his eyes. “Well, that and he did just hit me.” with a quick glance at his sister, Dread unexpectedly reared up and his front paws would come crashing down towards the male’s neck. And he wouldn’t raise them back up. He’d keep them pressed hard on the other’s neck, holding him down and under the water. It didn’t bother him that he was getting wet nor were there any thoughts as to what he was doing. He was just doing it.

There was also something in him that was fascinated in seeing what happened when you held someone’s head under the water and how long it would take. Besides, the man had hit him so Dread was only seeking retribution for the strike.

Abaddon
The large female sighed heavily. What was she expecting from him? A logical and reasonable answer? Her head shook softly as she stood in her place still. "Because you're an ass." She sneered with a hard glare. His idea of fun was a little warped. Abaddon loved a good tussle or two but targeting a stranger seemed a bit far. Especially when they hadn't done anything wrong.

Bright yellow eyes caught the swift kick to Dread and she smirked. Heigen would be fine on his own. If he was smart he would escape while her brother was likely thinking of another strike. Yet she let out a loud snarl escaped her as her dark brother came crashing down with rear paws aimed for Heigen's neck. The older male wouldn't make it through that kind of pressured weight crashing down.

"Are you happy? Went ahead and ruined your own play toy." The black female growled and prowled forward towards her brother. He would have to make up for this decision because a dead pack mate wouldn't look good on her end. Especially if he was brought to his demise when they were out together. Without much of warning, she charged towards Dread's form aiming with all of her weight to shove him off of Heigen.

His frenzied mind couldn't comprehend what was happening but it seemed he wouldn't be allowed much time to. While most of his focus was on Abaddon who seemed content to chat with the attacker and not act, he didn't notice the rearing of the male lingering over him. When his head turned back to catch the last moment glance at large dark paws and almost sick yellow eyes, it was too late to try and keep fighting back. His end was swifter than he could have ever imagined. In all the ways the Colette man thought he would come to an end, this wasn't one.
