Sorry for the crappy post >.<
Wisdom must have run deeply in this dude's family because when Sphinx expected to hear an argument about her greatness there was none. He simply accepted it with no questions asked and it left the speckled girl blinking a couple times in mild shock before a small grin tugged at the corner of her lips when instead he began to answer her question on who he was. Apparently, his name was Cyril and not only was he great; puffed out chest no doubt to try and make himself look the part, but he could have possibly been greater than her! Boy, was this dude funny and because Sphinx found it so funny there was no stopping the series of giggles that fell from her inky lips. "No way!"

The idea was totally unfathomable. How could this guy who didn't even go here be greater than Sphinx? Unlike himself, Sphinx wouldn't accept this so willingly and needed hard, concrete proof to back up his words. "Prove it." And much like himself, the speckled child puffed out her chest and tilted her head to squint her eyes at him, a tiny brow quirking in anticipation for some magical display of awesomeness that would seal the deal on just how great this Cyril guy claimed to be.

“Yes way!” He chirped back in response as he flashed her a wide, toothy grin. His plume wagged softly behind him, accentuating his words. Perhaps he wasn’t greater than her—or maybe he was. It did not matter to the smudge. He just enjoyed riling up his opponents. Not out of spite, but out of amusement. Being the only cub atop the monadnock had left the boy with the dreaded only child syndrome. He was trying to be better—mostly for Everly—but sometimes it was hard. Especially when girls seemed keen on tackling him for some abusrd reason.

Prove it. He shook his head as he took a side step away from her, his features softening as he studied the speckled girl. “No can do,” he retorted quickly with a frown, his shoulders rolling. “Don’ wanna make y’look bad!” He added with a sharp wink. Mentally he braced himself for another tackle, for he did not want to be felled by the girl a second time.

His eyes trailed along the tall rye grass, his brows pinched softly together as his frown deepened. Returning his yellowed gaze back to the girl Cyril’s head flopped to the side as he motioned to the sea of gold with his nose. “Y’live in there?” He asked, his curiosity getting the better of him as he abandoned their previous topic in hopes that the girl would, too.

There was no way he was going to provide the proof Sphinx needed to accept this absurd face that he was somehow greater than she and upon hearing this her soft amber eyes narrowed suspiciously, head tilting off to the side when he added on a quick statement of not wanting to make her look bad. HA! This guy had jokes. Scoffing in her best Askan impersonation a wide grin soon plastered itself upon her maw, tail mirroring the sway of his own before shrugging her speckled shoulders. "S'kay. I knew you couldn't be better." But that was where this portion of their conversation was laid to rest.

Sphinx watched the curious boy closely as his attention wandered away and onto the sea of gold behind her, looking back at her after nudging his nose toward the rye stalks and asking if she lived there. "Mhm. Rye field is my home. Makes for good hiding spot when playing with my brothers." There was an uncountable number of spots to hide during games such as tag and hide and go seek whenever she was bonding with her brothers even though they always managed to cheat somehow.

Would this guy cheat? The thought was quickly thrust into the forefront of her young mind, eyes widening at the prospect of a new playmate even if just for the day. "Wanna see?" She asked and any recollection that bringing strangers into their home was bad became momentarily forgotten.

The boy hummed in response as the ebony girl answered his question, his head tipping from side to side as he studied the endless sea of gold behind her. The field was certainly different than the chunk of rock Cyril was accustom to. He had found his own hiding places on the monadnock but it had certainly been difficult. Living here, among the tall stalks… the smudge could only imagine how good the hiding places were. “Looks preeeetty neat,” he chirped as he allowed his yellow gaze to return to the girl, a single brow arched.

He was surprised to hear the question fall from her tongue—was allowing strangers across the Rye borders a normal occurrence? Would he get in trouble for trespassing? Was she trying to lure him into the rye so that the rest of her packmates would capture him and torture him and gobble him up?! His stomach lurched at the thought but he remained quiet; skeptical. “Uh, ya,” he answered slowly, his lips falling into a soft frown, “y’won’t get in trouble or anythin’?” He didn’t really care if she did. He was just trying to make sure there weren’t any plans to pup-nap him. His parents certainly wouldn’t like that. Oh, the scolding he would get!!
