When her mother had left the den that morning Oksana followed her. She wanted to know where the older Baranski went when she wasn't at the den. It had been a question that had been on her mind since she was old enough to notice her mother leaving the den. So she had trailed behind her not too close of course for fear her mother would send her back. Oksana didn't want to go back she wanted to see more of her home instead if just the clearing outside the den. She'd grown bored and was sure there was more to see and do.
Her little legs carried her through the forest of trees that were so much bigger than her, so big she almost fell over trying to see the tops of them. Her mother moved much faster than she did through the forest because she kept stumbling over her own feet or a root, anything that might be in her way and unnoticed. Soon Inna was out of sight leaving Oksana on her own and for a moment the tiny pup was sad until she heard a rustle of leaves. Perhaps it was a new friend or something to chase, whatever it was she wanted to investigate it.
