Lavender Stark
@Laike | morning, fog

The world beyond the redwoods did not interest the little Stark as much as it captivated both her sister and Risaela. She preferred to stay beneath the canopy of leaves, studying the looming giants and sniffing around the river’s edge. There was plenty to explore behind the safety of Hearthwood’s borders—she just had to do a little bit of walking. Safe walking. Because whatever was beyond the trees was not safe and she wanted nothing to do with it. No matter how much her parents praised the dreadful Lowlands and the forests south of their territory Lavender had no interest in exploring them. She was told it would change, but she doubted it. Risaela had disappeared from the river and now she had been missing for weeks!!! Which, obviously, meant that the tundra had gobbled her up. And that was bad, bad, bad.

Shuffling toward the river Lavender left the safety of her den behind, her little legs carrying her as quickly as possible. The water frightened her, for she did not know if she would trust the moving water or not, but she was still captivated by it. Her father had told her that water couldn’t always be trusted, so she had to be careful. And she was very careful.

Maintaining her distance the girl walked parallel to the water, her little emeralds watching the slow moving water with heightened curiosity. She kept her paws to herself. Not only did she not want to get wet but she also did not want to be whisked away by the fluid. Her parents would be so disappointed in her.
