Bane
This thread is read only for the viewers out there. Bane contracts the rabies virus. If you'd like to take part in this little "personal plot" please check out my post in the Grab a Plot forums.

The past number of weeks had been rather blissful. Being with @Inali made Bane a much better, happier man. He had really only returned to these humid, muggy lands for one purpose and one purpose only.... To retrieve the wolf's skull which he had found when he had first walked into the Verdant Mosses and had met that pale wolf, @Ice, which had offered him the stories of his insane father and how he came to meet his end. Bane had no self pity for himself in not having met his father, nor did he feel vengeful of his father's murder. If anything, Bane was happy for the event, for how many more would have suffered if Slyscar and his group had prevailed? The story of the Aniwaya wolves was all but a tall tale now, though the history is something Bane wished to remember and this skull would be the key to just that. Even if the wolf's skull he had found turned out was truly not that of his father's, it would remind Bane to forever and always be a better wolf.

Though the lightning in the land was dim and the smell of decay overwhelming and making it hard to navigate, Bane did not enjoy the fact that he had already somehow was starting to become accustomed to it. He moved with bouncy, quick steps, untrusting of the mushy earth and the crawling creatures within it to dare rest his feet here in one spot for too long. Given the fact that he was moving quickly, he happened upon the little graveyard in no time at all, eager to take his 'prize' and make his way back to his dear friend. Leaning his head down to pluck Slyscar's skull from the mossy earth, it is now he hears the growls of another, far too close for comfort.

Bane freezes in his placement, keeping his head low as his ears fold down onto his head. His orange eyes lift to see the pale, small and thin wolf before him. The scene was very much similar to the first time he had stepped foot here... Playing with bones yet again only to get caught off guard by a pale stranger who was seemingly furious at the very sight of him. This stranger was very different then Ice, however. Though they were both that pale off-white hue, this wolf was much smaller, much thinner, much more ragged looking and very much female. Her fur was clumpy and matted and a wild fire burned in her eyes that matched very closely to the shade of Bane's own. "Ello, wot dewy 'ave 'ere?" Her voice was rough and thickly accented with a foreign tone Bane had never before heard and his ears perked then, straining to catch her words for a better understanding. She took a step forward and hesitantly, he took a step back. It was obvious she was ill. Her nose looked dry and cracked, eyes bloodshot and sullen, mouth profusely salivating. How contagious she was went far beyond Bane's knowledge but he had a mind to keep at bay.

"Aye, yew look familiar..." She spoke this before Bane could respond with his name. These words now catching him off guard. Familiar? He was very certain he had never seen her before. Ice had thought the same thing. It seemed like being a familiar face here was becoming tradition, allowing him to decide that after this day, Bane would never come here again. Bane's hard stare at her made it obvious he did not want to interact with her, hoping that perhaps she would go on her way. Though his silence was met with another one of her snarls, her bloodied gums having strained her teeth in red. "I'm not who you think I am." Bane spoke with every hope to remedy the situation. But it did him no good and the small woman shook her head as though it objection and then struck out at him. Much lighter she was, much smaller and her speed had not been expected granted her condition. Bane was a man of length and not bulk just the same and they danced around each other for a time, him dodging the snaps of her teeth aimed for his neck and face. When she dropped low, she would catch him off guard, her teeth slicing through the thin fur and skin as his foreleg and she clamped down. By the time he grabbed her from the back of her neck, he knew this was a game that would end with death. He just did not figure in the long-run it would be the death of both of them.

The match ended with her dead at his feet. There was not any specific scent on her. No smell of another wolf that would hint she had any friends, family, or pack. The only scent was the smell of the muck and forest which surrounded them, her blood and of course, disease. Bane did the only thing he could think of to do. With the skull he had originally come here for long forgotten, Bane began to dig out a shallow grave for the unknown wolf he had just murdered.
