Kerberos Rigel
Pack Meeting! There will be plenty to discuss - the future of the Draw, changing of seasons, and possible future hunt. First round ends, October 10th. @Triell @Maera @Treyah @Lacey @Lana @Cannon || Early Morning, Overcast Clouds, 55.4 ° F, 13 ° C

Truth be told, he did not have experience with leading a meeting. The Rigel had been apart of plenty back in his home Clan and part of him figured it couldn't be that hard. It was just a larger conversation, right?

Despite his worries he had peeled himself away from his daughter and wife. A careful kiss was planted on each of their foreheads as he moved out into the early morning light. His yellow eyes scanned the area for a proper gathering area. Sure he could have held it right here near the dens but something felt a bit off about that. Weren't meetings supposed to be special occasions? He wanted the perfect set up for that. The father slowly moved up the draw coming upon a few young dogwoods naturally spaced. It wasn't bad, would have been prettier if they were in bloom but this would have to do.

The male promptly swallowed his nerves. They could not eat him alive now. For he was here with family and they all loved and trusted him. His head tipped back as he let out a low song, summoning the wolves of the Draw to come together - an act that was long overdue for the ragtag group. When his call ended and his head lowered, Kerberos patiently waited for his family to come together.

PP of the pups arriving, let me know if you'd like it changed Pinn and Maeby!
What if it's you and not the world?
Treyah Tainn

She should have had some inkling by now that a meeting would be held, but it was purely coincidental that she happened to still be close enough to hear Kerberos's call. She had thought to head out and try to track something down for her rapidly growing siblings to try and take down, or perhaps even try to find something larger for the grown wolves to tackle together. Instead, she turned on a dime and made her way to where she had left @Lana, @Cannon and Suka to amuse themselves, rousing the youngsters with affectionate nips to their rumps and ears, her tail waving freely as she tried to entice them into a game of chase.

Together they caused quite the cacophony as they made their way through the draw, playful growls and snarls and the colliding of shoving bodies. If she wasn't so large and mindful of where she was putting her feet the trio could easily bowl her clean over, all lanky legs and ears as they were, and whether they knew it or not, even this short jaunt was a training session of sorts - one she hoped to repeat soon with something that reaped greater rewards than their big sister diving to the ground in front of Kerberos, all open jaws and flailing limbs as she signalled her defeat and that the children should now settle themselves and wait for the rest of the pack to arrive.

She rose with a shake and a smile, her nose finding it's way under Kerb's jaw to nudge her greeting before she moved to settle her youngest brother with a flash of her teeth. This wasn't the time for any of their tricks.

Triell Tainn

The call for a meeting made its way to him, and for a moment he remained seated. He could not deny it was strange. Kerb had never done something so formal. Here in the Draw Triell hadn't either. The old wolf couldn't help but begin to wonder what he may just hear. How it would be. How already things were different. Changed. Even worse, the messes, chaos, and pain that never seemed to remain behind.

Leaning carefully, he steadied himself to a full stand, and ever slowly started getting the blood pumping through his wary legs. He had just been observing a trio of deer, thinking one may have been tainted with illness. Whatever it was he was not familiar with it, and had taken a seat to watch for more clues. They could be found again, he needed to be there for whatever this was.

Closer to the heart he trotted, finding them by dogwood. Immediately his lowered tail swayed at his hocks. But, walking over to them was tremendously difficult. It was both joyous, and miserable to look upon Treyah. He felt a familiar knot in his throat, and his feet felt heavy. She was no longer his little Trey, but the care taker in her mother's place. It was hard not to see Naira. It was hard to believe she was all right. He had to force himself to breath, and step. Count each one out, and to focus on Kerb.

It was easier to look upon his friend, and see his familiar mask, and smile. Feel assured by his great, warm aura. He brushed his nose along the man's cheek, and then made his way to his children. Faintly nipping, and nestling ears before settling to his own seat. Reminding himself to breathe, and be here with Lana, Cannon, Suka, Treyah, and Kerberos.

The things we left unsaid are only taking space up in our heads
Suka Tainn

He hadn't thought much of Kerberos's howl until Treyah arrived with a shower of affection that made his lip curl and hair stand on end. It was gross. Just as gross as when Lana tried to cuddle up to him for extra wamth at night or the smells that came out of Cannon in the middle of the night. He didn't like it. But he did like the games of rough and tumble that the bigger sister initiated, despite his demure size so when she started to run, he followed, making a show of growling and snarling and landing light nips where he could. He was so caught up in the game that it was too late he realised where she was taking them, stopping just short of his sister falling in a pile at the leaders feet.

His jaws came closed with a sharp click, glancing distrustingly around the clearing just in time to see his father arrive. Well, at least dad was here. As Treyah rounded them all up to sit quietly (something he had no trouble with but doubted his siblings could achieve), he made sure to place himself on the end where he could be closest to Triell and to greet the dark shadow with a gently lean and his muzzle under the silvering chin. They were still here, even if mum wasn't.

Lana Tainn

Kerberos' call made her ears perk up, swiveling wildly as the searched for the origin of the sound. It was interesting enough for her brows to furrow, and her lanky limbs to push her stomach off of the ground. As interesting as his howl might have been, it was quickly forgotten when Treyah's form drew quickly over the horizon. Lana had certainly taken to idolizing her older sister, but growing up with a mom like theirs, how could she not? (And this, of course, was not to say that she was always Trey's biggest fan.)

When the tawny woman attempted to entice them into a game of chase, Lana threw caution to the wind. Usually well-behaved, the dark girl found herself causing quite a ruckus. Barking, nipping, pouncing. Nothing was off limits. It felt good not to worry. It felt good to act her age, and to not have to yell at her siblinga. Well, that was until they wound up piled at Kerberos' paws, straight in the middle of a pack meeting.

Straightening up, and shaking the soil from her coat, Lana took a seat beside her father, never once looking at the glaringly empty spot where Naira should have been. At least he was here, and she was sure that he'd always be.

Cannon Tainn

Cannon grinned from ear to ear as his sister initiated play. Nothing quite eased the mind like a bit of old fashioned rough housing, and the small Tainn was particularly good at it if he could say so himself. Though perhaps he had a tendency to get.. Too wrapped up in that sort of activity. So wrapped up that he'd no longer notice what was happening around him per say, or so wrapped up that he couldn't tell he was being tricked into attending some sort of strange.. gathering?

The pup hadn't herd Kerberos beckon for their attendance, hell, even if he did he probably wouldn't of understood what it meant. So it was a bit of a shock when he was finally able to recognize the fact that he had made it to the male's location (only after toppling over his sisters, or course.) and he couldn't help but wonder if the whole scenario was a ploy. "This is one of them... Them pack meetin's.. Right?? Oh, Hi dad!!" He smiled, noticing his fathers presence only after assessing the situation a bit. 'Man, Don't wanna be here though.. Probably gonna be boring... Or.. Sad or somethin'..' He sighed to himself, taking a seat near his father and the rest of them.

Kerberos Rigel
Thanks for being so speedy. Big post incoming! And no posting order just get in when you can (: Second rounds ends 17th of October. @Triell @Cannon @Maera @Treyah @Lana

The first to arrive was the tumbling group of Tainn children. This year's trio had grown before his very eyes and it was no surprise that Treyah met the ground in front of him. He didn't get frustrated or scold them, he simply smiled as he watched them interact and settle down with a sign from the Tainn yearling. A smile pulled on his lips as she nudged under his jaw. "Quite the entrance, don't go stealing my spotlight." He chuckled softly at his lighthearted tease. No one else had arrived just yet so they certainly weren't stealing any spotlight.

His features fell stoic for a moment as he saw Triell approaching the group. The poor man...Kerberos could feel his heart practically break looking at the shadowy Tainn. How was he fairing with all of this? The Rigel felt so poor for not pulling him aside to talk sooner. After the meeting when everyone had dispersed perhaps he would. A smile made itself known again as the distance between them was closed. The brush against his cheek was returned with a gentle bump of Kerberos' nose against Triell's cheek. "It's so good to see you." He whispered softly for only the dark man to here before he moved towards his children. Lana and Cannon were all too easy to pair to Triell but Suka seemed to carry hues like Naira and Treyah. A beautiful family really, he just wished they were all together.

Maera hadn't arrived yet but he assumed she was busy wrangling Lacey and with such little more thought, he brushed it away. "It is, Cannon." He addressed the growing boy who freely spoke. Smart one but he was sure Triell or Treyah had told him about these kinds of activities.

For a moment his throat felt tight. He wasn't the one who was supposed to be up here giving directions and seeking opinions on matters. The man who should have been doing that was one of the wolves before him and the woman who should have been doing it along his side was missing (he still held faith she was alive out there). But he took a deep breath to compose himself. This was his family now and they deserved to have him be a strong hand to hold.

"There's plenty to talk about which is why I've asked for your presence." He probably sounded boring and formal but right now he couldn't help it. "Firstly, the seasons are changing and before we know it winter will be upon us. I think we need to try and find something worthy to hunt. The children will be needing their first hunt soon as well. Seems like a win-win." His eyes looked between Triell and Treyah before falling on the young Tainn trio. Hopefully, that would at least excite them.

But there were other things that needed to talk about. He wished he could shield the younger ones forever but they were old enough to pick up on things and shielding them would do no good. "With everything that seems to keep happening I wish to know what everyone wants for the future of Charred Ash Draw." His yellow eyes had a serious look replacing a usual gleam. "I'm happy with the Wildwood but I'm not opposed to...change..if it's wanted." It seemed so dead around here as well and he wanted to be somewhere where life flourished, where visitors came by and where loners might be seeking a home. Maybe he was still just as much a dreamer as he had been back in the Clan.

Maera Slayer

Rearing in their daughter took a little more strength than Maera had anticipated… of course, she was part Slayer, and part Rigel two – both were stubborn in lineage. “Come on, Lacey. We’re going to be late.” She urged as she nudged her towards the meeting, a soft sigh when she finally arrived, just in time to hear Kerberos start speaking. At first she hung back, listening to his words before she moved to take her place beside him, not wishing to disrupt his words with her appearance. She did not offer her advice, only a silent support when Kerberos left the floor open for suggestions of change.

Change was always difficult for her… but… was it the right thing to do?

They were stuck between a rock and a hard place – they needed to move farther around to find new members, but they were spread so thin that they couldn’t afford losing someone for an extended length of time to actually take a couple day’s journey out from the Draw. She loved their home… she didn’t want to give it up… not their den, not the lands their daughter had lived on their entire lives… “We have to do what is best for the Draw… even if it’s not something we all necessarily want.” She offered, subtly presenting her opinion while asking the others what they thought in repetition of her mate.

what if it's you and not the world?
Treyah Tainn

She smiled lightly at Kerberos's statement before moving her siblings aside. She was pleased with how quickly they settled between her and their father, she might have even felt a little pang of pride. They were doing so well despite all that they had been through. She could only imagine her mother would be proud (if she even remembered who they were).

Her attention was drawn back to her dark masked friend, nodding her agreement to the suggestion of a hunt, it had been so long since they had been able to come together to bring down anything sizeable and it would make a nice change. But his next line of inquiry caused her jaw to close with a tight click, her expression falling as she took in the weight behind his words. For a moment she had even stopped breathing.

Change. Her heart had been pining for a blue forest and the mist covered ground where everything was darker, and closer, save for one light filled clearing, bordered by a stream. Swept up as she was in nostalgia her mouth opened, then closed again. Her mother wouldn't be able to find them again if they moved. Not something we all want. "If we are to leave this place..." She didn't expect her opinion to be a popular one but she had poured so much of herself into this place that she couldn't imagine starting over again. "I would like to return to the place I was born... if my sister will have me. I don't think I have it in me to start over again." Her voice was small, her sides heaving as she continued to try and process it all.

This wood had been so full of promises, they had come here to ease her parent's hearts - perhaps this dull ache and longing had been what had driven them here in the first place, the same ache that was urging her to go home. After all, what was left but charred trees and an ache where her mother's smile should have been?
