Namid Vuesain
For @Kerberos  set on 2/6 around noon.

How lovely are the portals of the night
When stars come out to watch the daylight die

It had taken her about 4 rough days to make it from the Marsh to Charred Ash Draw but she’d made. Perhaps she was worse for the wear but she had made up her mind to visit Kerberos and deliver the news she had for herself. It would certainly be better in person than from one of the Cove wolves. She wondered how they were doing, what they would think when she arrived. The pale woman hoped they were going strong and thought about what little Chan might look like now. Was Lunette okay?

She shrugged off the thoughts as she arrived at the borders, rump automatically plopping down onto the ground as her shaking legs gave way. Namid let out a huff, giving herself a few moments to collect herself and gather her raspy breath. She resisted the urge to vomit, her stomach gurgling though not from hunger. Well, perhaps a little bit of both. She hadn’t felt much like eating lately. Her head lifted and she released her song into the air, voice light and wispy. As thought she might fall away in the wind. She hoped it was strong enough to reach him within.

Kerberos Rigel
He had not been far from the borders when the light call traveled through the air. There was a familiarness to it that caused his brows to knit together. He had just been told that the older female was no longer present in the Cove. Was she on her way to return? Or still heading away from it? Regardless he was eager to see her.

His pace was quick as he arrived at the borders. The Rigel was left rather confused by how rough the female looked. He slowed down as a soft woof escaped him, he did not wish to startle her. "Namid." He spoke her name with care as though she really might vanish into thin air. "Are you alright?" Perhaps it was not the best conversation starter but it was what he wanted to ask most in that moment.

It didn’t take long for her friend to show up, a small smile gracing her features. She was glad to see him looking so well. Perhaps a little older, more weathered as they all did with age, but good nonetheless. However, she could immediately see the concern within his pale yellow gaze, her name spoken from his lips like she was a doe who might bolt at any moment. She didn’t want to be coddled, didn’t want to be treated any differently but she couldn’t stop them. Wouldn’t stop them, in fact. She would deal with it like she had dealt with the sorrowful looks she had received when she’d stepped down from leadership due to her depression.

He cut right to the chase and, for once, the former queen didn’t want to. Not just yet, because once the words escaped her jaws there would be no going back. It would become a reality for her, not just a fleeting thought in the wind. So, she decided to dodge the question for the moment. “The better question is, how are you?” she countered. “How is the Draw? Strong I hope?” she asked, genuinely curious.
