Tulip DayHeart
(http://relic-lore.net/showthread.php?tid=16842 Set before moose thread. Tulip is searching the territory for prey in her brief chance of being alone. Perhaps it's a chance to interact with someone new?! :) )

Obeying her alpha the small girl veered off towards the heart of the territory. For some odd reason the alpha had allowed the girl to handle herself for a change. It was odd, the small yearling had not realized how much time they spent together till now. She was becoming a bit dependent on the older women's company. Her confidence was growing with the nurturing of the alpha. She had been praised for her abilities and had yet to face a punishment nearly comparable to the ones Grievous offered. Despite it all, the yearling actually enjoyed the solitude. She felt able to breath, free to be herself instead of a mere shadow. It wasn't that she didn't like Moon, but the girl didn't get alone time anymore and all the talking she was to do was tiresome. She missed the lack of need to talk. It was nice being able to talk and communicate with others freely for a change, but sometimes... it was overwhelming.

Small paws followed the scent and fresh tracks of a rabbit, one of which seemed frail. It's print all too light in the snow, even for a rabbit. If it wasn't for her skilled nose the girl was sure she wouldn't of been able to follow. The black wolf found herself stopping before a burrow just large enough for her ity bity head to slid in. Without hesitation she dove into the burrow snapping her teeth wildly. A squeal sounded from beneath the ground. The sound of a scurry begun, a struggle of sorts. The girl managed to grab the fur near the animals chest but it scratched at her face furiously, little slits forming as blood lined them. She pulled back hastily from the burrow but did not let go of her awkward grip. Panicky she shook the little rabbit, still holding tight to it's fur. She hadn't a clue of what to do. She never actually expected to catch it!

(Edit @Solas @Roland seem to be the only ones who haven't joined the hunt yet...maybe they could enter the hunt together if interested? If not, a loner would be interesting if there's a soul daring to enter pack lands.... @Garmir is gutsy?)

Bastet Akhenaten
Hope you don't mind Bastet!

The dark female had just finished her time of marking the borders with her scent and checking for markers along the trunk of the trees for larger predators that dared to seek refuge inside of their borders. She could imagine anything other than a cougar being the largest thing willing to live atop a mountain but sight of those were scarce and rightfully so; the stench of wolf had likely drove them away. With those duties complete she moved toward the center of the land with intention to check the caches in case they were low and needed replacing, she entered the scene never expecting to see Tulip with a freshly caught rabbit wiggling around in her jaws. She hadn't the slightest clue why the woman was hesitant on delivering the death bite but Bastet didn't waste any time in disciplining her. "You pitiful creature." she voiced, her head lowering slightly before continuing,   "kill it already!" her voice rose above a whisper while in wait for the girl to finish with the activity, wondering who had taught this thief her hunting abilities.

(Not at all <3 Just might make joining the hunt thread weird?)

Tulip kept shaking the terrified critter as it squealed. What should she do? Oh man, what should she do? Tulip, feeling guilty, stopped shaking it for a moment. She was probably causing it unjust pain in doing such this the rabbit apparently wasn't going to die by been shook to death. She was hesitant with every action she made and as the rabbit began kicking and scratching her again she shut her eyes tightly.

Bastet's harsh words met her ear with an air of familiarty. The yearling came to a sudden hault, flashing back to a familiar scene. There she stood, hackles raised, the group circling the defensless male. Her was battered and bloodied up quite well, his words pleading for mercy his tone horribly pathetic. Tulip's snarl rose above the male's voice to tune him out. She could not listen, she simply couldn't. Every fiber of her wanted to turn and run, but she had to. "Nulla, what are you waiting for?" Grevious's impatient voice promted as his ghostly eyes narrowed on her.

Grevious came to stand beside her and stop the circling wolves, looking down on the small girl with a threatening smirk. "Kill it already." His final warning was met with an affirmative nod. The girl turned and with haste she rushed their victim. The wolf tried to backpedal away but with inexperience failed to properly guard his neck. Much like the coyotes tactics she dove for the exposed skin beneath his neck. Her teeth collided with fierce impact, tearing into fur and flesh with a spray of blood. The metallic flavor of his life source made her want to hurl, a rush of guilt swallowing her. Primal-like instincts took over as the child lost herself, ripping into the man like a savage and pulling his jugular out with sickening sounds. Blood covered her face, the fallen wolf nearly taking him with her as his limp body collapsed. "Enough!"Grevious shouted, the girl backing up and breathing heavily in shock. "Eat"

-FLASHBACK OVER, STILL M-Tulip gets carried away with the rabbit

Tulip remained still, her sides heaving, the rabbit squirming in her grasp going ignored until something clicked. With a wild eyed look the yearling rose onto her hind paws, then came crashing down face first with enough force that there was a loud crack. It wasn't enough for her now, though, and she began tearing into the creature's neck. The girl found no satisfaction until blood had unnecessarily soaked her face and she was sure it was dead. Panting heavily the girl fell back onto her haunches. "There"She huffed tiredly, fearfully looking down at the mess she had made. She was horrified by the sight, bottom lip quivering. The girl did not see a rabbit staring back at her, but the dark lifeless eyes of a wolf.

Tulip has a speech impairment that causes her to talk with a severe lisp and has selective mutism. I will not be writing her words to reflect this (outside of going mute), but ask those who roleplay with her to understand it's implied.

Bastet Akhenaten

It seemed that her command stroked a nerve and with a look of satisfaction she watched as the woman snapped and tore into the prey as it would be her last, nearly breathless from the act of taking its life. She stalled a moment, allowing the young woman her moment before advancing toward her and taking a few pieces of the rabbit into her mouth, it was a mere snack but she was grateful all the same. She had managed to kill two birds with one stone--gain a easy snack, and break the broken woman even further. She smiled once she had gotten her fill and turned toward the silent Tulip to speak, "You merely did what nature intended. We hunt and kill to survive, and you, like everyone else, will pull your weight. Let's take what's left of your mangled kill and place it into one of the caches. I'm sure someone will appreciate it." she said without missing a beat, waiting for the fragile girl to stand so that they could find somewhere suitable to place the mess she had made. She said nothing further about the mess of blood all over her, but eventually she supposed the woman would need to clean herself off...

Tulip remained quite, watching as the older wolf came and freely took what she wanted. The girl didn't think much of it, simply watching and allowing the ebony wolf to walk all over her. There was no point in bickering about it, but she was somewhat bummed to not get a bite herself. Her pack mate wanted to put it into the cache, so she'd oblige. Lifting up on shaky limbs the yearling gathered up the shredded rabbit, lemon eyes falling onto the Bastet with an empty almost soulless gaze. She waited, standing in a solider like formation, for the woman to lead the way.

Bastet Akhenaten
Silence followed and Bastet decided that she didn't mind it, the quiet made it less awkward being in the presence of the very wolf she had doubted from the moment she stepped foot in the Cove and when the young girl stood in wait for Bastet to take the lead she found herself easily taking the front. She eyed Tulip without a word before slipping past her, a feeling of displeasure easing into her gut but it disappeared the longer they walked and before long they were at the caches, where she expected the wolf to stash the mangled rabbit. "You should probably get cleaned up too," she said without missing a beat. The stench of blood had always been inviting but on Tulip, so wild, raw and splattered, it made her look all the more insane.  "we wouldn't want the others to think differently of you." and she turned on her paws toward the nearest water source, intent on directing Tulip toward it.

Tulip followed in mindless obedience, not really paying attention to her follow packmate's discomfort. Her mind was silent without thoughts as she stepped rhythmically behind the older wolf. Her old solider-like mask creeped onto her face, lemon eyes draining of any previous emotions. The young woman-child dug into the cashes to place her torn up catch and placed it upon previous meals that were kept somewhat fresh from the ground. She wasted no time covering the pack's stash of meats back up.

Tulip nodded in agreement, picturing her reflection to be very unpleasant at the moment. The woman's next words caught her off guard, what was that supposed to mean? @Bastet didn't really seem to care about her and the words left the girl confused. Why would they think any different of her? A lump formed in the pit of her empty, churning, uneasy belly. Briefly hesitating on account of her shock the girl followed along behind the second in charge female.

The silence between them was awkward, and rightfully so. Bastet had let it be known that she didn't care for the lowest ranked female and she assumed that because of this, Tulip did not favor the dark female either. It was a fair exchange and truthfully, she didn't mind the quiet since it allowed her to concentrate on other things but that did not mean that she wasn't watching her company like a hawk, critical of nearly every move she made. She would probably forever be weary, a thief in her eyes would always be a thief and because of this Tulip would have to prove herself a million times over before she could be trusted by the dark woman but than again, Bastet didn't trust many wolves easily. She moved so that Tulip could bury the kill and when she was finished lead the way toward the nearest watering source so that she could clean herself up and be a bit more presentable. It was only once they reached the water that she spoke once more, "How are you liking it here so far?" she asked, more so for conversation as she waited near the bank for Tulip to rid herself of the blood along her pelt, she decided that in the mean time she could gather some information.

The small female watched as the water came into view and grew closer and closer with each step they took. Slowly she moved to it's edge, dipping her front paws into its cold being. Tulip gently swooshed her muzzle in the water and rinsed her paws off as well. She would occasionally lick at the dried blood on her chest before retuning to other parts of herself. Pulling away from the water, only mildly wet, she eagerly began to dry herself off.

The question caught the lemon eyed she-wolf off guard and the girl slowly raised her head to look at her packmate, "Tulip like Cove." Her words spoken softly with an affirmative nod following pursuit.
