Adelayde Artemieva
For her darling @Laike only
Backdated to 3/4 at 11pm || Mostly Cloudy 5° F(-15° C), light breeze

Her head throbbed as she tiredly reentered through the Rye borders after traveling for two weeks, trying to find her leader. Instead of bringing him back where he belonged and where he could continue healing from his injury, she had lost his trail after arriving on her old friend, Askan's doorstep. She knew @Drestig arrived in the Vale, but after resting for a few hours, the Rye beta couldn't pick up his scent no matter how hard or how far she tried. Being unfamiliar with the eastern forest, she reluctantly retreated, in fear that she would become lost herself if she did not have his trail to follow.

Halfway through her return, the season she despised came upon her in deep waves, causing her to quicken her pace. The Artemeiva had no desire to run into any rogue males, she only held desire to see her husband back within the rye. Though she had been miles away from when her heat first started. Constantly, the tawny woman had the urge to throw herself deep into a snow drift in order to soothe the heat the coursed through her veins. But as the fields grew closer, she couldn't think of anything else but getting home.

When her pale paws crossed the borders, she did not call for anyone to tell them the bad news nor to let them know she was back home after a fortnight. Adelayde would get to that in the morning as she planned to seek @Jessie out immediately in the morning to tell her what had happened. Instead, she had eyes on the den she occasionally shared with her husband. When they wanted time alone from the communal den, they could easily be found there together. Knowing her mate would not be pleased with her absence during a sensitive season, she knew where she find him tonight. Or so she hoped.

Approaching their shared den, her steps grew lighter as her mismatched eyes caught the opening. Her voice soft, "Laike?" as she purred her husband's name, calling him out of their den if he was in there. Her heart thrumming in her chest as she held her breath, waiting almost impatiently for her mismatched eyes to catch sight of her pale mate.

Laike Artemieva

LAIKE ARTEMIEVA

He was not asleep despite the lateness. He had his back to the opening of the den, shielding off the cold that came in breezes. Truthfully he was livid. Laike would have begged Adelayde to stay but he knew there was no stopping her - despite how utterly foolish he thought the mission to be.

So his fur prickled when he heard her bittersweet voice calling out his name. It was accompanied by the stench of her perfume. A reminder that she had decided to leave so close to such a tender season. It only further fueled the ill feeling that bubbled within him. He loved her dearly but there was only so much he could support.

Hesitantly he looked over his shoulder, her large form casting a shadow over the den's entrance. He could not hide the frown that tugged sharply at his features. "Hmm? Finally decided to come home?" A pale brow raised, his body not budging from his distant position.

Adelayde Artemieva

The tawny woman had hoped by the time she returned to the fields, Laike would have gotten over being mad at her for trying to track down Drestig. He had to understand she had to try. Adelayde felt like she had to be the one to track him down and bring him back. Griffin had already searched for his sister with no luck and the Rye second wouldn't let another Avalon child to leave the fields. The large tawny woman had been in great health enough to scale the snow and whatever terrain had been between her and Drestig.

However, she returned with no luck and now as she sought out her mate, his pale back turned towards the den opening as her mismatched eyes peered in from a few feet away. He hesitated to turn, but when he did, she wasn't met with a warm smile. Instead, she was met with a grim frown from her husband before he retorted back at her. So he was still mad. Had the Artemieva female not been craving his touch and presence, she would have responded differently to his attitude. But instead, Adelayde smirked and began to close the distance that laid between them, her large frame lowering to the ground in the process.

Her salmon tongue reached to kiss his chin as her tail swayed across the snow covered ground behind her, spreading her perfume. She was too happy to fight with him about his attitude or whether or not she should went after Drestig. Tonight she only wanted to think about them together finally after a fortnight apart. "Now don't make me drag you out of there," she purred again, her teeth preening through the thick fur upon his nape as her mismatched gaze held a mischievous glint.

Laike Artemieva

LAIKE ARTEMIEVA

He could not pull away from her, he had cornered himself already and when she came closer he found himself helpless. Her touch sent chills down his spine. The man so badly wanted to ignore her presence. He wanted to stand his ground and prove his point. A disgruntled growl left him as he turned his head. His jaws were parted as he craned his neck to try and grab something. Whether it was her neck, cheek, muzzle or anything else did not matter. If he grabbed a hold of her it wouldn't be with force that his teeth met her. He would be gentle mostly but he wanted her to know he was still feeling serious.

"You will do no such thing." He rumbled. "But I will move." Slowly he shifted his legs to pull away from Adelayde as he easily moved out of the den. If she wanted to pester him so badly then he figured she would have no problem following him back out.

Adelayde Artemieva

Feeling the growl rumbled through his chest and into hers as she lounged alongside his back, her ears fitted against her skull as her mismatched gaze watched as he turned his head towards her. Out of instinct, she allowed his parted jaws to wrap around her muzzle. Adelayde understood the meaning behind it, though she couldn't guarantee she would listen next time. She was a woman of passion and freedom, acting on her emotions most of the time. However, for the time being she would let Laike make his point and she would make her own point to follow it to an extent.

Her husband rumbled a retort before moving himself away from her and out of the den like she wished. Without missing a beat, the Artemieva woman followed behind him, ears tipped forward as a grin crossed her ebony lips. Starting at his hindquarters, she ran her tan muzzle along his pale blonde body as she traced her teeth at the base of his ear before reaching to kiss his cheek and chin again. She was adamant at showing affection for her pale lover, it was almost at a suffocating rate, though she didn't really care if Laike minded. He had to be used to it by now?

"I missed you," she whispered in his ear before she reached a paw up to wrap around his shoulders as she reached to grasp a pale ear gently if he allowed her. An excited growl rumbled in her chest while her tail waved happily behind her. She was happy to be back with him even if he was still mad at her.

love and truth

With a huff, he allowed her to smother him. On one paw he hated it and the way she smelled this close. He had never enjoyed the season but she had come home to him with the stench and he supposed that was half the battle.

The large male didn't miss her words as a strong flick of his tail was given. I guess I missed you too. He said roughly with hopes she might get that he was teasing. Laike allowed his head to tilt for her to do whatever she pleased with his ear. The Rye wolf felt more like some sort of chew toy for a child than an actual wolf. It wasn't bad but it wasn't exactly what he had expected. He had hoped that maybe she would just want to come home and sleep.

Find anything out there? The stocky Artemieva rumbled as he gazed out into the darkness.

Ade could never get enough of loving up on her husband, but she supposed she couldn't suffocate him too much the first night back together, especially when there was plenty of information he needed to know. A grin reached reached her ebony lips as he retorted back in his subtle teasing nature. His head tilted toward her before she gently nibbled upon his ear then placed another kiss afterwards as she released her grip.

Her ocean eyes looked out to where he was staring in the distance, but saw nothing. Turning her eyes back to him as he asked about her journey. Tawny ears flattened against her crown as she was reminded of her failure to bring back the Rye King. No, I lost his trail in Vale on the east side of the mountain. Fearing she would in turn become lost within the Vale, a place she never ventured before. I did find that Lachesis moved Hearthwood River to Turtleback Lake. And also found where Askan and Reyes' pack is that Griffin discovered. Drestig had stopped there, but he didn't stay and afterwards that's when I lost his trail.

He couldn't hold back the sigh that escaped him. It wasn't ideal that she had lost his trail but like hell, he wanted her out there longer than necessary. If he couldn't be found then what were they to do? While Laike would love to see the older male come home he could not bring himself to believe in exerting their resources here to bring him home. What if he simply didn't want to be found?

His gaze looked at her with obvious interest. The chunk of information started out good but slowly became less than rewarding. It was good to know where everyone was which was a bonus at least.

Let's not keep discussing such serious matters. Otherwise, he would keep festering a foul mood that would only serve to irritate him.

Tawny ears pressed against the back of her crown again as a sigh slipped from her pale husband's ebony lips as his fiery gaze held upon the horizon before them. Adelayde couldn't help but feel like she had failed them by not searching hard or long enough for the Rye patriarch. Nobody had to outwardly tell her how they felt, she could feel the disappointment radiating from them. Perhaps their disappointment could be more about the situation than for her failing to bring him back, either way she felt like she had to take the blame.

Her ocean eyes glanced to meet his gaze as he looked to her with rivaled interest to the information she passed on. Her ears perked slightly at his murmured words, she was looking forward to not having to talk anymore about her trip. The whole situation was giving her headache. The gregarious woman leaned closer to his pale form, seeking the warmth and comfort of his embrace that she longed for her entire trip. Oh how she missed him. Come to bed with me, love.
