Kanti Muraco
@Niyol || Late morning, patches of fog, 6°F (-14°C)

He raced ahead through the foliage and fog. Ti-Ti wasn't much faster than his brother but he sure could keep pace for longer. His tongue lolled out of his mouth as a large grin spread ear to ear. I'm gonna find mine first! He hollered out into the uniformed forest. The large male figured that his brother was still close by, that he would respond back. Granted Ti-Ti hadn't paid much attention to where he was going or any scents around him.

As he slowed down, his sides expanded and deflated. He needed to catch his breath for a moment. Dull orange eyes glanced around to take in the forest around him. Everything looked the same. The trees all looked like they were planted with delicacy and order. It was exciting and unnerving all at once.

Hey Ni...what's up with this place? He called out, ears standing up with an eagerness to hear any answer.

Burnt orange eyes strained to see through the thick fog that had rolled in earlier morning, causing the brown and silver coated male to slow his pace considerably. In contrast to his more exuberant brother, who had run head on into the unfamiliar forest, Niyol preferred to take his time and move with caution. As he passed by the tall, silver-barked trees he paused every so often to sniff at their trunks, inspecting them for any markers that may have been left by previous visitors. The young male did not want he or his sibling to unwittingly stumble into claimed territory.

It was just as he paused again to sniff the crisp bark of another leafless tree that he heard Kanti's voice echo eerily through the forest. The boastful words of his brother summoned a dismissive snort from the male. The pair had always been competitive, but on this occasion Niyol couldn't care who found their spirit first. Yeah okay, we'll see. He thought to himself. He could be patient, at least for the time being. He gave a quick shake of his pelt before loping forwards after his brother, daring to pick up his pace just enough to catch him up.

Brown ears perked upwards at his sibling's question, which he heard just as he spotted the darker shades of his brother's pelt against the pale backdrop of the fog. Niyol sauntered forwards and brushed up alongside Kanti's side in greeting, before slowly taking in their surroundings. Pale brows furrowing slightly and a single ear perked upwards in question. "Not home." He finally mumbled. It was much too quiet, much too secluded, to remind him of Crowfoot Creek.

It felt strange. The place was far too silent. Kanti needed sound, energy, and socialization to keep him running at his best. There was none of that here. His tail gave a few subtle wags as he felt the presence of his older brother at his side. Niyol had always been the calmness in Kanti's storm.

"'Course not." Nothing would ever be like back home. "I just meant that...I dunno. It seems strange. The place almost seems surreal." His shoulders gave a sharp shrug as he gazed over at Ni. Didn't he notice it? Maybe it was the fog that was making him feel so superstitious. "Look at the trees. Everything looks the same." Of course, there were some finer details that made each one different (certain nicks, number of branches, etc.) but Ti-Ti was looking at things in the bigger picture. He always did.

He slowly moved forward, one small step at a time. "What do you make of this place?" It wouldn't hurt to find out if his brother noticed something he didn't. His tail nervously hung between his legs as he moved on through the fog.

Surreal? The word caused a single pale brow to lift thoughtfully. Niyol glanced across to his brother, watching how his dull orange scanned the surrounding trees for a few moments, before he did the same. Brown ears pressed back against his head awkwardly as Kanti commented on how similar the trees appeared to each other. Now that Niyol had a chance to step back and take it all in from a distance, it was almost as if they had grown from the very same seed. Each naked, silver tree was an exact replica of the one next to it.

The male hummed quietly to himself, a soft frown pulling at his features as his tail flicked back and forth behind him with interest. He felt his brother shift from his side and watched silently as Kanti advanced forwards slowly towards the fog, leaving him to feel the cold as he hung back on his own. At his brother's question, his ears perked upwards, before he glanced around again. Pale paws shifted awkwardly beneath him and he shot an nervous look across to his brother. He was right. It did feel strange. Frowning, he decided that they better not stick around there for long, and gave Kanti a firm bump to his side as he stepped forwards in encouragement for him to follow.
