These days Askan was either tired or grumpy, there wasn't much of an in between.
He didn't remember it being this badlast year, but hindsight was a one way street, wasn't it? It was easy for Askan forget that damn Archer woman rubbing her stink all over him, or the intensely awkward vibes he'd felt whenever @Adelayde so much looked in his direction. That was all in the past, it no longer concerned him, and yet every now and then he found himself thinking about how he and Reyes had wandered south. It had been like a breath of fresh air and had effectively shoved all of his grumpiness to the back burner. As tempting as it was, wandering off wasn't really an option now. Besides, why would he even want to go back to Skyfall Glen when he had a whole lake of his own?
And so, his grumpiness remained. Pestering @Reyes helped, and despite his grumblings, Askan's mate was doing a good job at shouldering the Selwyn's salt but he wasn't here....Which was to say he was probably somewhere else, not right in Askan's face where he very much wanted him to be. They weren't joint at the hip, Askan wasn't asking for that, but shit, where had that fat (or rather, damn fine)assed git gotten to? Was he tending to the borders, out hunting with the others? Askan could only guess as he prowled along the Shallow's shore, his ears pinned against his skull as his tail twitched behind him, all puffed up like a toilet brush.
Whatever, he didn't care. Askan wasn't annoyed or even riled up, he was absolutely fucking fine. As always.
