Avella Archer
@Scully

It was the light on her face that did it, waking her up from a really good sleep. She'd tried rolling over out if the light but it hadn't worked. She'd even shoved her face into her brothers fur in hopes that knowing he was there would help her go back to sleep but that didn't work either.

Giving up Avella got to her feet and tugged on Scully's ear. If she was going to be awake he was going to be too, “Up,” she commanded of him, “We splore,” she went on before tugging on him again.

She didn't know if they would actually explore anything but they would do something. She had gone out by herself and that had been fine but she didn't want to go without her brother this time.

Scully Archer
All her squirreling around trying to get back to sleep might've stirred him if Scully wasn't such a sound sleeper. His small puppy jaws were cracked open with soft, minute snores rushing from his throat and nostrils as he dozed deeply. Occasionally, his legs would twitch, muscles attempting to act out what was occurring within his dreams. That all went out the window when her small but sharp teeth latched onto his ear. She hadn't done it hard, but his skin was sensitive and it was enough to jolt him awake.

Rolling onto his stomach and twisting his targeted ear out of Avella's reach, he gave her a pointed scowl before rising onto his paws.

"Fiiiiine," he drawled, acting far more upset than he actually was by any reach. Once up, as much as he might not have wanted to be, the small Archer was up and that meant he might as well do whatever it was his sister wanted.

"Where?"

All if her tossing and turning hadn't woken her brother. He lay there snoring his whole life away while Avella was now awake unable to go back to sleep. The tawny puppy knew of one thing her brother couldn't possibly sleep through.

After a good tug on his ear he was rousing from his slumber. A satisfied smile crossed get tiny maw as get tail wagged while she waited for him.

She stuck her tongue out at the attitude he gave her for waking him up. Still he was willing to go with her as her little brother should be. “I don't know, somewhere new and exciting,” she said a dreamy quality in her voice. Which of course meant somewhere they could get into trouble for going there. Avella wasn't afraid to get into trouble, “We go till we find it.”

Scully Archer
The possibility of trouble never dissuaded Scully, much to his father's dismay. That they didn't have a particular goal, were just gonna wing it, also worked greatly for the chaotic youth. He nodded eagerly, taking a few long strides past his sibling and toward the mouth of the den. Freyja and Ragnar weren't around, probably out with their dad or something, but that was just as well. No one and nothing to slow them down!

"Sounds like," Scully began, turning to face his sister while continuing to take steps, his lanky body moving backwards now.

"... you wanna race."

The moment the word left his mouth he twisted around, and took off, sprinting with all his puppy might. So what if he cheated a little bit, that was how you made sure you got ahead!

Somewhere new and exciting was where she wanted to go and most of all she wanted to find it with her brother. She liked her other siblings but it was Scully she'd been with the longest and sometimes she just wanted to have special brother sister time since they didn't get that any more in the new den.

He seemed to like the idea but when he talked he stopped before she found out what it sounded like. She followed him as he moved toward the entrance frowning all the way and waiting for him to finish.

Her frown changed when. He said something about a race but before she could say anything back he was gone. “Hey, that's no fair,” she called after him as she ran off as fast as she could to catch up to him. “I'm gonna win,” she declared as loud as she could not even thinking it could draw attention.

Scully Archer
No fair she told him, as if Scully ever played fair. He was a whelp known for taking advantage and being conniving, despite his young age. While he was never cruel to Avella, she was not completely protected from his cheating ways. Planning on keeping his head start, he pumped his young legs as hard and fast as they would go. Her claim that she would win regardless only egged him on, a loose grin taking up residence on his mottled features.

Of course, when the finish line had never really been set, it was pretty hard to win. Or maybe, easier? His silver eyes darted around, looking for anything that might be interesting enough for his sister to call the destination. They came up empty initially, but then he spied an old log, hollowed of its pulpy insides by hardworking decomposers. It might not be new, but it was certainly something fun, so he veered sharply and bee-lined for it.

Her legs weren't yet long like her mother's or father's but she moved them as fast as they would go. They carried her across the terrain after Scully but she couldn't gain in him. His head start had given him an advantage over her that she didn't know if she could regain. Her claim that she would beat him anyway only seemed to make him go faster. With a huff the pale puppy pushed herself faster too.

A confused expression crossed her masked face when he turned sharply. She wasn't able to ask what get was doing so she turned right away hoping to may cut him off. Once back in a straight path she pumped her legs harder pushing herself forward alling the path they were taking. She should have known her brother had concocted some sort of plan.
