Kisina Donata
Open to two others || The gradual process of weaning begins and they can now follow adults for up to 1 mile from the den. With being allowed to accompany adults, learning continually advances with the aid of social interaction. Vocabulary lists proceed to grow and social or pack norms are picked up on.

The Donata girl had found something wonderful but she didn't know what it was (a small vole to anyone who had more experience than a pup). It was a small thing - smaller than her! - that scuttled about whenever she got too close to it. It had such a strange thin, hairless tail and a pudgy body. Whenever it tried to escape her she scuttled after it. Kisina was going to keep it as close as possible.

Her growing paws stomped across the ground and smacked the earth in front of the creature. Puppy teeth snapped feverishly as the creature kept scuttling across the earth. This thing was fast! She gave chase but suddely...it was gone? Where had it gone? Leathery nose pressed down to the ground as she sniffed. A small hole underneath a tree seemed to smell an awful lot like her previous toy.

A growl escaped the Donata girl. This simply wouldn't do.

Mabel Donata
@Kisina sorry Mabel is such a butt!

Mabel had been doing her best to avoid her younger siblings as much as she possibly could. But, she was a yearling and that meant as much as her job was practicing adult roles she also took the brunt of the babysitting when her parents weren’t around. Even when she was require to watch them though the ivory teen usually did so from a distance, watching them but hardly interacting with them.

So when her mother had requested that she come and watch Kisina while she went off to do whatever it was that alphas do Mabel had huffed but agreed. From a patch of long grass she lounged, lazily watching the tawny pup chase after a vole and practically bored to death. How could she think that was exciting? It was just a tiny vole and she wasn’t even really playing with it she was just following it.

It was the growl that made the creamy yearling perk up a little, glancing over to make sure nothing had happened to her younger sister. Seeing that she had her nose half stuck into the vole hole Mabel rolled her eyes, ”Just dig it out.” The hole couldn’t possibly be that deep and then she would have her toy back.

Kisina Donata

Her older sister's words were met with puppy blue eyes rolling softly. Duh. She just...you know, needed to figure out how exactly to go about that. The young Donata knew how to dig but this felt different. There was something in the hole that she needed to get. Was digging still the same then?

Deciding not to delay in case her sister had anything else to say, the child set to work. Growing paws kicked back the earth which dirtied her underside. Ugh. Not fun at all but she was now determined to get the creature that had outwitted her. It needed to be taught a lesson!

Her muzzle disappeared back into the vole's hiding spot. Puppy teeth clicked about until she actually managed to grab something. When Kisina pulled her head back the vole was hanging from her jaws by its tail. Her tail whipped over her back as she practically ran back to her sister - still clutching the vole - to show Mabel that she had done it. All by herself.

Mabel Donata
@Kisina sorry this took so long

Kisina rolled her eyes at her and the yearling huffed quietly to herself. She might have found the act funny had it been someone else who had copied her eye roll but she was pretty firmly planted in her dislike of her siblings. No cutesy copy-cat eye rolling could change that. Instead, she hypocritically found it rather insulting and settled her head back onto her paws and closed her eyes. Surely the pup would yell if something bad as happening, and ‘watching’ Kisina didn’t mean keeping her eyes on her every second until Mom came back.

As such, she had her eyes closed when Kisina gained her prize and had ignored the sounds of puppy-footsteps as it came towards her. Then it was suddenly upon her and Mabel’s eyes opened in panic. The pup was sprinting towards her with a flailing vole dangling from her mouth. Jumping to her paws, ”Woah, woah, woah.” Backpedaling a little she eyed Kisina and the rodent over, ”Okay cool, now go back to playing with it over there.” And away from her, that was the important part.
