Cyril Kael-Santoro
A recent heat wave has left the forest drier than usual.
preference for loners, but AW. 1-2 only. dated for July 20. mid-day.
Cyril's location: -59.15481, -13.5973 (the southern river in Sacred Grove)

He had left in the early hours of the morning, prior to the sun making its appearance over the horizon line. When the air had been cooler and welcoming. As he clambered down the mountain and into the forests below the temperatures began to rise (along with the sun), causing his steps to quicken and his path to detour from his typical route to find water sources. He never stopped for long—only to collect a few mouthfuls before continuing along. It usually took him two and a half days (sometimes three) to reach the Ridge, depending on his pace. This visit, however, it appeared that it was going to take him the full three days—especially if he was needing to stop for water more frequently.

The sun had reached its highest peak when Cyril stumbled upon the river that cut through the southern half of the grove. His steps slowed as he reached the water’s edge, his pointed snout dipping to drink his fill and rest his weary paws. It had been too long since he ventured south and he had forgotten how much of a trek it was. Typically, under desirable conditions, Cyril would have been halfway to the Ridge by now, but the warmth of the summer sun slowed him down. Especially when he was trying to find shadows to hide in. He wanted to get there as quick as possible so he could spend more time with his ebony friend as it had been months since the last time he had seen her. He blamed the newest additions to the Tarn for his absence, as they had captured most of his attention in the recent weeks. Jenessa especially, as she was the resident troublemaker of Clearwater. His little brother was much more subdued than the mouthy Selwyn; soft-spoken and cautious. Not at all like Cyril had been as a cub.

His ears twitched as he glanced around, nervously, his yellow eyes sweeping the territory to ensure no coyotes had followed him. He wasn’t in the mood for a fight. The sooner he got moving the better, but for now he stepped into the slow moving river to soothe his paws.
