Kainda Wheatear
This was her first attempt to join in a pack, and the monstrous wolf was worried. What if something would go wrong? She would be turned down? Could she just swallow it? The answer was easy: no, she could not. <i>'Don't go, blood, see the blood? This place is evil! You are evil, you don't belong here, evils can't make evils feel bad! Feel the tide!'</i> And yes, Kainda did see the blood on the breanches, slowly dropping to the white snow. Those were just the games of her mind, but they couldn't be said as an easy thing to ignore.

Maybe there was another place to go, <span class='word'>tramontane</span> pack. Kaid wasn't sure, nor she was going to find out. This was her shot, to this place, to this pack, try to get in and perhaps suffocate the voice inside her that only told her to desrtoy the pack once she would be in. That made no sense to her, and the tawny monster attempted to forget the plan of her insanity.

Here was the border, clearly marked. Halting to the safer side of it, rising her scarred snout to the sky, giving out a loud howl, calling for the leaders, alphas. Her howl was not beatiful, it had very rough tone and it simply didn't sound good, all due the fang that made it impossible to direct the voice to proper direction. But the message was still easy to understand.

Lowering her head, taking a submissive posture already, making herself ready for the encounter. Hopefully she wouldn't have to speak...

Gone Tomorrow

Corinna's head lifted at the sound of the voice. It was a strange one, rough in tone, and certainly not a howl that the leader had heard before. It was not one of the River wolves, but the sound came from nearby, along their borders. While normally dealing with potential new members gave Corinna a headache, today she would not mind making the visit. She had already been out along the borders, remarking with her strong scent what territory belonged to Swift River and which did not. Since her run in with the two yearlings a week back, she had been on high alert. Heavily marking the trees and barren bushes, the snow along the Swift River borders had taken on a yellow color, evidence of her vigilance in keeping her and her pack protected.

Dropping her leg, the leader set off in the direction of the howl. Pausing only to further mark a noticeable landmark, she was not particularly quick to get to the source of the call. But as she approached the caller, she took on the dominant stance of a leader. Head and tail lifted, and her green eyes stared directly at the tawny she-wolf. She was not particularly pretty to look at, but that hardly mattered to Corinna. She wanted only hearty wolves who would be able to pull their own weight in the pack. "Who are you and what do you want?" She wasn't unkind in her tone of voice, but she was direct. The loner was taking away valuable time, time that Cori needed to get around the entire perimeter of the large territory owned by her family.

Leader, female alpha most definitely. Destroying her wish of silence. Well, she was trying to join in a pack, of course some words were expected. Opening her mouth and trying to get the words out quickly but clearly, the green eyed alpha seemed to be busy. <b>"Kain-da Whe'eate'ear, j'in 'n t-'e' pa-k"</b> she spoke, words traveling from her scarred lips, breaking the silence for the time they were out. Kainda's reply was as short as possible, speaking wasn't her strength anymore, you could say. Hopefully the alpha wouldn't care that her words were unsophisticated.

Holding her submissive posture, carefully keeping every single fur of her body away from the territory for now. Kainda would of course enter there if accepted in the pack, but not before. Something her voice didn't really appreciate. <i>'Show to her who's the boss!'</i> Right, just like the ragged loner would've challenged the alpha of an wealthy pack...

Gone Tomorrow

The tawny colored she-wolf was already submitting when Corinna arrived on the scene, so her body did not adjust much when Cori did arrive. But she paid no mind to that, the important part was that she was submitting, unlike the previous two yearlings who had arrived on her borders. Head tipped ever so slightly to the side as the loner opened her mouth and began to speak. It was as if Marsh had become female. Straining hard to catch what the girl was saying, Corinna mutely shook her head. "Kainda." She repeated the word slowly and quietly to herself, not entirely sure that was what she had actually heard. The last name was lost on her, not that the green-eyed leader particularly cared one way or the other. As for the reason for why the girl was here, that seemed obvious, even in her broken speech.

But broken speech or no, Corinna would not let her pass the borders if she could not give a reason for why she would be beneficial to the pack. She was in no mood to deal with lone wolves who only took and did not give. "What can you do for Swift River?" She spoke slowly and clearly, not wanting the lone wolf to misunderstand her. Like Marsh, it seemed that Kainda was not a particular fan of speaking, but some questions needed answering regardless. Half tempted to call her Second to the scene to interpret, she waited, wandering what the girl would say next.

Frowning, concentrating to get the words right, body tighting in the effort of moving her lips. Some might think that it couldn't possibly be that hard, but controlling muscles that have been layed forgotten for the most of your life, plus they are badly damaged, well, not easy thing to do!<b> " 'uar-ing, s'pp-rt, 'o-od, st'eng-t"</b> Kaida spoke, closing her eyes to make it sound good. Guarding, support, food, strength were the things she offered. Kaid wasn't exactly a hunter, not only she hated it but she was just really poor at it. Barely able to keep herself alive, the tawny beast was willing to hunt with the pack, of course, but she was better at simple protecting the ones needed it.

Opening her eyes, looking to the alpha again, wishing she had understood. And that she wouldn't have to speake anymore, it was irritating when you body won't cooperate with you. Those first things she had said, her name, had been something practised, and her attempts to say 'join the pack' had been less than pitiful. Concentration was all that made her speech sound better, and now she felt like the alpha was little more willing to wait for her words for little longer. Why that, Kaid wasn't sure, but at least she appreciated it.

Gone Tomorrow

The skills of the lone wolf were hard to make out. Really, Corinna could only make out half of what the other female had said. Strength and guarding - not a bad thing, considering just how many wolves had been coming to the Swift River borders unbidden lately. Ones who had not paid their respects to the Swift River wolves' clearly marked border. It wouldn't be such a bad idea, to have somebody around who could defend them. The lack of speaking skills was not particularly thrilling, but the she-wolf had long since learned to deal with such disabilities. Marsh did not particularly care for words either, and it was rare that she heard the voice of her loyal second.

Contemplating, Cori's green eyes surveyed the she-wolf before her. Heavily scarred, it was clear that the girl had led a harsh life. The fact that she was alive attested to her resilience, which always went over well in Corinna's mind. She wanted wolves who were survivors, and would help the pack survive. Dipping her head, Corinna nodded her assent. "I'm Corinna. Welcome to Swift River, Kainda." Stepping forward, Corinna crossed the few feet, out of Swift River territory and into no-wolf's land. Approaching Kainda, she walked in a circle around her, getting close enough that Corinna's dominating scent would permeate into the other's, adding her musk to the non-visible banner that was her pack's signature. Finished, she moved forward, back to the other. Looking over her shoulder, she nodded in the general direction of the pack den. "I'll show you." The pack borders could wait, for the time being. More water would be needed first anyway.
