@Garmir Challenge time :D early morning 6/20

The sun was just barely peaking over the mountain as the large sea wolf made his way out of his den. He moved quietly as to not disturb Nauja or Zale giving them each a kiss to their crowns. Once outside he took a nice big stretch preparing his limbs for a hefty workout that day. Once satisfied the large man started off for the borders at a brisk trot. Reaching the place he had met the dark male the day before. A satisfied smile formed on his inky lips when he saw he had arrived before Garmir. The first small challenge was a victory for the Kersey man, if he continued on this trend it would be a good day for him. Stopping along the border he let out a call for the dark man. Lets get this show on the road.

@Tyne *Sniff* Nothing like a smell of testosterone in the morning. >:)

"Aren't you eager one." -Garmir spoke, thus announcing his presence at the same time. It seemed that the earthen male had in actuality been stalking his challenger like a proper scout he was but perhaps it could be counted as Tyne making it to the spot first. Small victories, they did count.

Garmir approached, his head held high and posture unusually dominant. He wasn't displaying aggression towards Tyne, but rather showing off his confidence. His smug expression surely matched rest of his attitude and it was all intented. Garmir came close, so close that as he passed next to Tyne, their fur very briefly brushed against one another. The other male was larger, no doupt - but it mattered not to Garmir.

The earthen male stared ahead, towards the outside of their borders, taking in deep breath. The ground was slightly moist from early morning mist and air smelt fresh and cool - no doupt soon to be pushed aside by the heat of the day. Doing this little contest sure was better done in the morning. "Before we do this.. few ground rules." -He murmured while turning his gaze at his challenger, a grin forming on his face. "..while we are at it.. no ranks exist. Right now we are equal. Agreed?" -Garmir stated, expecting the other male to agree. This was down to noting else but their skill, swiftness and endurance alone. Nothing else mattered.

*inhales* ahhh love that smell in the morning haha so I was thinking for their skills to go based off what they have set in their life points to make it fair? :)

As his call faded into the crisp morning air Garmir's voice rang out not far behind him. Tyne turned to see the dark male, golden orbs taking in the other's dominate stature. The sight added fuel to the fire burning within the sea wolf. Oh how he couldnt wait to get this hunt started.

The Kersey man fought the urge to growl as the dark man passed so close their fur intermingled. The anticipation of the challenge was eating away at him. He wanted to just go already but it seemed like Garmir had something to say. "Before we do this .. a few grounf rules" A creamy brow raised as charcoal dusted ears pressed forward atop his head.

No ranks huh? His inky lips pulled up in a smirk as his tail and head lifted a bit more. "Sounds good to me" he agreed moving to stand even with the earthy man. "Shall we?" he asked before he began out into the Wildwood at a trot. Tyne didnt need to look behind him he knew full and well that Garmir would follow. Its time to get this show on the road.

@Tyne

Seeing Tyne rise up his tail and assume more confident posture brought a grin on Garmir's face. He wanted the sea wolf at his best and this was looking better. Indeed Garmir kept pace with his temporary rival. For him this was less about whom was thruly better (cause he of course knew he was, duh!) - and more about learning what kind of member Tyne was. There were already plenty of traits Garmir liked about the man and he was sure he would soon learn more.

As soon as the two were past the border, Garmir increased pace, bumping against Tyne's flank (to provoke him) while he threw challenge at him. "Best out of three!" -he shouted while getting into sprint, looking for headstart. Every second counted and now it was about which one of them would catch a trail first..

Hunting dem 1/3

Garmir's attempt to rile him up by bumping his flank worked as a low rumble vibrated deep in his chest. His challenging smile however remained as golden orbs watched his opponent pick up the pace. Charcoal dusted ears pressed forwards atop his head catching his words - "best two out of three!"

Creamy limbs broke out into a sprint following the earthen man. The sea wolf pushed himself hard as the Draw duo raced across the Wildwood. The large agouti man wasnt exactly built for speed, he was fast but Garmir was definitely faster. It frustrated Tyne but he used it as fuel and pushed on. That is until he was hit with the scent of prey. Slowing his pace quite rapidly he let out a bark to alert Garmir before he began to survey the land around him. It was kind of difficult at first for he was panting hard from the race. By the time Garmir circled back Tyne was able to calm his breathing enough to start tracking the deer. Going into stealth mode the Kersey man silently tracked the small heard to a clearing. There was one buck, three does and two fawns. With two of them they could possibly take buck, definitely one of the does or each a fawn. He looked to his companion to see what he would say. Sure they were in competition but they were also hunting for the same pack.

OOC: This is propably one of the funniest threads I have had for a while.
@Tyne

Garmir would have been lying had he denied taking enjoyment for being able to push his competitor. He rarely got to have this much fun and while the two were definately hunting, to him this was more of an psychological game to probe Tyne and see what the man was made of. He did also want to win, but that was secondary objective. A bark caught Garmir's attention.

Tyne was observant - or then he possessed really good nose. Garmir had failed to notice the trail the sea wolf begin to follow and this did feel like a minor blow. What was the current minor victory count? one - two in Tyne's favor? Garmir really had to step up his game. Garmir followed Tyne closely, allowing him to do the work. He himself used that time to observe his opponent, see how he worked, what methods he used to track. As the two reached the clearing, revealing quite an selection of targets, Garmir had to make decision between the pack and their stupid testosterone rising competition.

As Garmir took a glance at the other male, sneaking beside him, he noticed Tyne was looking at him. The earthen male's gaze turned back to the field and he eyed at each of the targets. If they worked together, they could bring down doe for certain - maybe even the buck, although that was challenge even for two of them. Two fawns on the other hand would play into their competition, though if both caught one it would mean even score. His eyes turned back to Tyne and he whispered.

"We bring down a doe together. One point for both of us...?" -He smiled just a little. Had they not been competing right now he would have been more complimentary with his words. Garmir elected not to go after the buck because there were only two of the wolves - and he knew he'd have to be the one trying to slow down the beast as he was faster (kick from buck to face would be too big blow to his ego in front of his rival) where as Tyne would get the honor of killing the thing.

Hunting dem 2/3

In hushed tones Garmir chose the safer surer route suggesting they both take down a doe. It was fine for the sea wolf since they were hunting for the same pack but part of him was a bit disappointed that they wouldn't be going head to head. Oh well. Tyne gave a nod in agreeance to the plan before golden eyes moved back to the small herd to pick which doe they would take home. The two with fawns were slightly smaller than the one without. Plus the one without wouldn't have a fawn getting in the way of their hunt. So turning his attention back to his partner "The one without a fawn is more rounded out than the other two." He suggested seeing if Garmir would agree. Tyne was sure he would but just wanted to make sure.

@Tyne OOC: I guess we go for hunt dem? though I guess they can get little snappy over the kill >:3?

For now it seemed Tyne and Garmir had to bury their war hatched and co-operate, which surprise enough came easily for him. For instance while they were drafting plans, Garmir tended to forget they were actually competing, but suppose they could continue the feud later, once they had brought the doe into the pack - for the good of all the others. Serving Charred Ash Draw had higher priority than proving himself better in whatever petty feud the two had. If they really wanted to butt heads together later, they could propably just outright have a fight and be done with it. Suppose this hunt would show how well they were able to work together.

"Agreed" -He whispered in aknowledgement of Tyne's proposed course of action. Garmir could propably run the doe down if he got close enough. Tyne would propably get the honor of killing the creature. He took final glance at his partner, still holding cocky grin but not trying to outright provoke his competitor. Garmir then begin to creep closer, minding himself to be careful not to make excess sound before he was near enough. This was where his earthen colors helped a great deal.

Hunting dem 3/3 Oh yes! let a squabble insue! Hope this is okay if not let me know! Ill change it :)

The cocky grin was not missed by the Keresy man and was actually returned with one of his own. The agouti man knew that Garmir was built for speed and he for strength. So when the darker male moved one way Tyne moved the other to position himself for the take down. Golden orbs watched the other Draw wolf get into position as his claws dug into the earth in preparation for the final stage of the hunt.

His breath went steady as he watched and waited. Then just like that a snarl tore through the trees as Garmir burst from the shadows. He drove the fawnless doe right towards the sea wolf. A mischievous grin pulled at his inky lips as the doe was driven closer and closer. When the deer was practically on top of him Tyne leapt from the underbrush, creamy jaw parted with a fierce growl. The deer reared back clipping his ribs with her sharp hoof, but that didnt stop him from meeting his mark. His creamy maw locked on to the meaty flesh of its neck as he curled his feet up in attempt to make himself heavier so that she would go toppling down.

OOC: This was good, no worries. I hope this PP is also agreeable. Poke me if not. ^^
@Tyne

For two competing pack wolves, Garmir and Tyne seemed to be able to work amazingly well together when there was room for it. He played his role in the chase and Tyne indeed acted as a roadblock to end the poor doe's escape like to a wall. Tyne was large enough to be able to handle the takedown by himself, leaving Garmir nothing but assisting role. As he saw his hunting partner struggled to bring the doe down however, the earthen male tipped the balance enough by claiming one of the doe's hind legs and then pulling it to break the balance in order to secure kill for Tyne. As the the predator came down with its prey, Garmir let go, opting instead watch the slow killing process, while circling the doe and the wolf tangled with it.

Garmir was not watching the prey while this was happening. He was watching Tyne, the way he struck, they way he secured his hold on the poor thing's throat, how he applied his weight to keep the struggling prey under. Garmir watching this all because the moment meal was secure, he was going to perform... a temperament test on his dear rival. He was already poised ready to strike...
