don't mind her, she's throwing a tantrum

Bring the noise

Cyril was a tough nut to crack, but Jenny was determined to get her way. He could try and resist her as much as he pleased, nothing and no one could stop Jenny once she started. She wriggled and squirmed as she tried to force him into submission, did he really think he could win? She adored Cyril but he was being so very silly!

And then he did something evil! He flopped on over, sending Jenny sliding off his side. She landed with a gentle ooof as she stared up at him, why did he do that? How unfair! She laid there for a moment, by his side, as she stared up at him with her big puppy eyes. Her lip began to tremble as her breathing became all ragged and huffy. It wasn't fair! Why wouldn't he let her have her way?

Tears pricked at her eyes as she sniffed and snuffed. Look at what he had done! He had ruined everything! And why wouldn't he just give the mouse back? He was only keeping it to be mean mean mean, hadn't she tried hard enough? Didn't she deserve whatever she wanted?

Cyril Kael-Santoro

If he was being honest Cyril didn’t feel bad for keeping the mouse from little Jenessa, or foiling her plans. He had succeeded in teaching her a lesson, even if he was answered by her tears and pouty lips. He remained where he was, his lanky and overgrown body flopped against the snow-dusted ground with his forepaws cupped around the little mouse’s body. His yellow gaze swept over her trembling figure, a wicked smile curling across his dark features. No crying, Jenny, he retorted, his voice firm and smooth in an attempt to put a stop to her sniffling. Sometimes you have to work for things. Bein’ cute will only get you so far. Sure, she was young, but she was old enough to learn a valuable lesson. He rolled back onto his stomach and shuffled around to face her, all while keeping his paws atop the mouse. Come on, he added, his nose motioning to the hidden mouse, you can do it. Take it.

Bring the noise

Telling her not to cry just made the tears come even faster. She sobbed and hiccuped till it was hard to breathe. Cyril was awful! How could he be so mean! This wasn't what play was supposed to be like, Jenny was always supposed to win in the end! She'd already worked for the mouse, she'd tried so so very hard and Cyril didn't even care! She was only little and could only do so much...

With tears still streaming down her face, Jenny looked down to his paws. He told her that she could take it now, but what if he was just being mean? She didn't know how much more nonsense she could tolerate before she started screaming the Tarn down. The mountains would surely crumble at the sound- either that or Lenae would come running like her tail was on fire.

"R-rrrreally?" Jenny didn't want any tricks, not unless she was pulling them.

Cyril Kael-Santoro
His nose wrinkled at the onslaught of tears and he struggled to remain composed. He refused to give in no matter how horrible the tears were to endure. Cyril was going to be the tough love in her life; she would have to work for her successes as he would not hand them to her. But her sobbing began to soften and her features began to smooth. R-rrrreally? she asked, the doubt heavy in her voice as the word rolled off her tongue. He nodded, a faint (and rare) smile sprawling across his dark maw. Yes really. The yearling gave a sharp nod of his head to reassure her as he enticed her with another long wag of his tail. Take it. He waited, his body still pressed against the ground as he watched her patiently. Fortunately, for Cyril, it did not take long for the girl to pounce at his oversized paws, determination fuelling her actions as she dug her nose between his paws to retrieve the silver mouse…
