Mako Coho
Mako's heart felt like it was about to burst out of his chest and go bouncing down the hillside if he didn't get his racing pulse under control. But somehow he managed to keep his outer composure for the most part, just the faint shudder to his breath belying how his nerves were set aflame by the simple touch. And if he thought that was enough to shake him to pieces, he entirely underestimated Lyanna's ability to reach in and rattle him to his core. His breath caught in his throat as her eyes met his and she pressed a kiss to his cheek. He didn't remember to breathe until her soft voice ghosted past his ear, sending a shiver down to his toes. He certainly had no intentions of going anywhere with a woman like her before him.

A pleasant rumbling growl rolled deep within his chest, his silver tail swaying an easy pace behind him. He felt so light and buoyant, and more than a sailor at sea than he realized. Distantly, he recognized how ridiculously smitten he was, and that he knew so little about her, but maybe that was what made this all so easy. She had no expectations of him, and so it wasn't hard to live up to them.

Well... Maybe he'd been wrong about being able to disappoint. And maybe the butterflies swooping in his stomach weren't entirely as innocent as they seemed. His gut rumbled, then without warning a mighty fart sounded out from his backside. Mako quickly pulled away and folded his tail down, eyes wide in shock. Mako prayed the ground would open up under his feet and swallow him whole.

Lyanna Tainn
@Mako | Sorry for the forever-wait! ♥︎

For those few intimate, intricate moments, the two of them were in a world of their own, so it felt. Lyanna soaked up the touch they shared and every last physical and emotional reaction to it like the roots of a flower to water, and she bloomed just the same. The light of the sun that had turned the landscape surrounding them into something from a dream was starting to fade, but it seemed that the night that would follow would be only the beginning of something more grandiose - something that could change her and the life she lived indefinitely, if she let it. If he let it, too.

And then came a sound as grand as their beautiful song together had been - a mighty fart, so strong and loud that perhaps it, too, could have echoed off the stone faces of the fjord's cliffs. With obvious embarrassment, Mako shuffled backward as his tail curled down between his hocks, the look on his wide-eyed face mortified. Lyanna's brows immediately arched as high as they possibly could, her russet-tipped ears perking forward in surprise as she gasped, searching his handsome face. Her own tail drifted for for a second as she froze in disbelief.

It wasn't the unexpected passing of gas that was so offensive, but the fact that he'd torn himself even an inch from her. Her heart began to race again, the corner of her lip quivering. Then the other corner quivered. And then, without skipping a beat, a ferocious fit of laughter bellowed in her chest until it erupted out of her mouth and she was helpless to contain it whatsoever. The poor guy! Mako looked as if he'd pass smooth out, and if one could have seen the skin beneath his silver and charcoaled fur, he must have been as pale as a ghost. Hell, he looked as if he'd seen one pass by...Tears welled in her eyes as she tried to fight down the laughter before she became the offensive one, and she dropped her head to wipe them on her foreleg as the fit subsided and faded to a chuckle.

A lighthearted sigh took its place as her eyes found his again, as warm and inviting has they had ever been. She cleared her throat softly and ambled over to him, reaching out to bump his chin up with the tip of her nose before regarding him with the utmost affection. Farting in front of a significant other was surely a milestone in any relationship, and now that they'd gotten that out of the way, there was nowhere to go but up, right? She still felt like she was floating skyward next to him. "I didn't mean to frighten you," she breathed, her tail swaying behind her.

"...'Think you'll still be able to sail off into that sunset?"
