Now where had she put it? It was around here somewhere, her little cache of goodies she'd hidden away from prying eyes and noses. She didn't have anything particularly valuable or even edible, it was just a collection of things that had caught her eye, like sharp stones and smelly leaves. She knew it was around here somewhere, that she'd dug out a little hole near a tree that faced the base of the mountain, but which one? There were so many trees all tangled together, coiled and twisted like a hundred serpents. That was, in part, why she liked it in this forest so much, the sense of danger and secrecy, with a hundred or more places to hide and sneak.
With her nose to the floor, Jenny sniffed and snuffed till she noticed that the dirt just in front of her paws had recently been disturbed. Was this it? She hadn't visited her cache recently so...this meant that someone had dug it up, rummaged through it? She scowled as she pawed the dirt out of the way, they better not have taken that sharp tooth she had found, it was hers!
When all of the mud had been pushed aside Jenny paused and tipped her head to the side in obvious confusion. She'd found a hole full of nuts, this wasn't hers...Well, it was now.
