Phoenix Avalon
i crashed my car into the bridge

The Avalon knew that she could trust Askan to pass on what she had told him, but when she crossed the Tainn's trail as she headed towards the Surge, she found herself following it anyway. What was another hour when she wasn't even sure when she would be back? If she was already here, it was just as easy for her to suck it up and tell the other woman to her face, right? Besides, with a new direction chosen, something to focus on other than trying to pull her parents' faces to mind, her head wasn't nearly as painful as it had been.

She thought she spotted movement ahead, though whether the flash of brown was from the wolf she was after or some prey she had accidentally flushed, she wasn't quite certain. Just in case it was the latter, she gave over to instinct, allowing herself to rush forward and close the distance. She'd probably be embarrassed if she ended up shoulder charging @Lyanna instead... or maybe she wouldn't...

The day had started out like any other. Following a morning patrol of the borders, she'd set out northward to look for anything reasonable to hunt and drag home to throw in one of the caches. Will autumn in full effect - and with some days even feeling more like winter - the usual prey that had been relatively abundant during the summer months had started to become fewer and further between. The change wasn't anything unexpected and it wasn't like she minded looking harder, but the chilling bite in the breeze did make her somewhat more reluctant to stray from home.

As it were, Lyanna had made her way along with her nose to the ground, pausing here and there to check the wind and investigate scattered markings on the trunks of the trees when they caught her attention. Plodding along for a time, it was the smell of the Edge and the scent of one of their own that caused her to perk up. Her ears tilted forward, her nose wriggling in the air. For all intents and purposes, the scent wasn't an unfamiliar one, but rather one that belonged to the woman she hadn't had the pleasure - or trainwreck - of meeting all along. Phoenix.

Breathing in a steady breath, it was hard to forget how her encounter with Remi had gone down. The sooty-furred wolf's words still stung if she thought long enough about the things that were said. But it wasn't unreasonable to consider that finally coming face-to-face with Percy - as Askan called her - might not be as confrontational. Or at least she hoped. For what it was worth to anyone around here, Lyanna didn't want to cause any more trouble. If anything, she was ready to build bridges instead of burning them.

Swinging around to the direction of fast-approaching steps, her gaze swept over the foliage of the forest with heightening anticipation. Perhaps it wasn't her pack mate approaching, but she was pretty much living on hopes and dreams as whatever it was quickly closed in on her. Prepared for the girl's speedy arrival or for something else, toes planted, it seemed she wouldn’t have to wait long...
