Cyril Kael-Santoro
backdated to November 16. late afternoon/early evening. scattered clouds. @Adeltra, duh.

He was glad that he did not have to return to the Tarn. There was nothing left for him there. The sullen youth had a feeling that neither Odin or little Jenny had remained on the mountain, so why would he want to pay his mother’s former pack a visit? It was still strange to him that the pack was even still standing after his mother’s departure. Cheedo had never been a leader in Cyril’s eyes; always a follower. Going wherever the others went. Always at his mother’s side, or in her shadow, doing what she was told without hesitation. How was she supposed to lead a pack without Piety to tell her what to do?

They weren’t far from the willows, a day and a half maybe, which made Cyril a little glum. He liked being out in the Lore, exploring territories he had not gotten a chance to tread through yet. It was the east that remained a mystery to the boy; perhaps in the spring, once the snow had melted from the mountains, he would make his way to the other side of the Lore. With or without Adeltra. Preferably with but he knew she was tied to the willows. Cyril did not understand what she saw in the drooping trees, as they paled in comparison to some of the landscape he had explored, but he did understand the responsibility of family. Her name—her legacy—was tied to the willows. It would not surprise him if she planned on leading the pack one day whenever Sven and the other silver Archer decided to step down.

As usual he had detoured from the group, giving Adeltra and her cousin space as they made their way back south. Cyril had gotten used to spending so much time with the ebony Archer that he was a little worried about how different things were going to be once they returned. Cyril would continue his duties as the Ridge’s unofficial bodyguard, or first line of defence, and skulk around the borders. Always far enough to stay out of trouble but always close enough to answer her calls. He would have to return to his gift offering, too, to ensure that neither Sven or Ravenna would chase him from their borders.

He padded, slowly, through the trees at the base of the mountain, his tail swinging low as he kept his ears pinned forward. The Kael-Santoro was on the hunt for something to bring back to the Archer’s, or just a clue as to where the missing cubs had gone. Anything useful, although anything that would appease Adeltra at this point would do.
