@Nikolai, but still AW
It wasn't uncommon for the Rye second to make her way out into the Lowlands after her morning duties were finished. She took this time to survey the tundra for any signs of the herds that seemed to have departed after their last pack hunt. Also, to make sure there wasn't anything out of the ordinary as far as potential dangers to the pack. With three growing children in the Rye, the mother needed to be vigilant when it came to protecting the precious beings that were brought into the world. Her heart went out to the little girl, @Kisetra that seemed to keep losing the presence of her mother. Luckily, cinnamon child had her dutiful father, though Adelayde tried as much as she could to include the girl and give her as much support as she could.
As her mind wandered thinking of the Rye cubs, a distant noise alerted her tawny ears to the presence of what she was searching for this chilly morning. A dusting of snow covered her back as she sat on her haunches overlooking the herd that laundered within the Lowlands. The caribou decided to return to the Rye hunting lands, their numbers as larger than last time as the smaller migratory groups joining together for the winter. Keen mismatched gaze picked through the crowd, trying to detect any weakness among them. Seeing a few, she knew it would be a good opportunity for the Rye to pick through the group while they were in their hunting lands. It looked promising for them to be traveling towards the Surge, meaning their allies too would benefit from the return of the herd.
