Hudson "Huddy" Macieo
@Rhaegara @Saga @Audine hunt tiiiime

Well if you wanted honesty that's all you had to say

It had taken Hudson the better part of an hour to find Sága and had been surprised she’d also found someone to tag along with her. Their hunting group had grown by one and with it, their chances of taking down a larger prey animal which was fine with him. Anything that could help him fill his belly was surely welcome then he could do with a nice nap, sharing warmth with his thickly pelted companion. His hueless gaze traveled up to the sun, squinting against the light. It was nearly at its peak and Rhaegara and her travel companion should be arriving some time soon. His maw gapped into a yawn and he looked to the two women in his company. “Hope they get here soon so we can get this show on the road,” he said to neither in particular.

Sága Tainn

Sága wasn't really sure how this had happened. The pair had only split for a little bit, and somehow in that time two had grown to five. Not that she was complaining. Aubine had proved herself to be good company, and if she had learned anything about Hudson during their last few nights together, it was that he wouldn't have extended any sort of offer to someone who had left a bad taste in his mouth. Her pear-colored eyes swiveled to find him as they waited, his contagious yawn spreading to her as well. "How long should we wait?" From what she'd heard the woman hadn't exactly guaranteed their arrival.

Rhaegara Rayvne
And there's an old man sitting on the throne

Rhaegara had been eager in her return to fill Adelard in on the offer she had received. A hunt to fill their bellies on their travels sounded ideal in her mind. She hoped she hadn’t overstepped a line by brokering a deal like this, though she had left the option up to him as to whether or not they would actually attend. It was the thick of winter with an incessant hunger that was hard to ignore giving the cruel nature of the first months of the year. This would be good, she liked to think. She had no reason to trust the man she’d met in the Orchard, but she liked to think she had the tooth and claw to back herself up if he tried to pull anything too nefarious.

They would hunt, and they would both get their fills otherwise wolves would get hurt, that much had been decided. She protected her own, and that included her travelling partner. She found she quite enjoyed his company. She trotted her way to the meeting spot just in time to hear those words, an amused look on her features. “Wait no longer.” Her answer was simple as she glanced between the wolves already gathered in preparation.

Aubine Gerau
In finding company in Saga, Aubine had come to find even more friendly acquaintances in Hudson. The two were fine companions and, even this early in their relationship, they were easy to get along with. At Sága's flank, the Gerau stood at the ready, testing the air every so often. It had been ages since she had properly hunted with a group of wolves, a pack. It was exactly what she needed to lift her spirits (and settle her slowly souring empty stomach).

Her heart thumped excitedly in her chest, skipping a beat as Rhaegara appeared. Aubine's tail waved about but stopped as soon as recognition dawned on her features. The tawny woman's arrival brought in her wake a cologne so startlingly familiar that she had to brace herself. Was he here? Did she find him at long last? She tore her eyes away from the looks between her two friends and the woman who had just shown up, staring now at the surroundings beyond her. The smallest of whimpers escaped her.

Adelard Gerau
Ever the omnipresent shadow at Rhaegara's back when they traveled, Adelard took up the position of a wary bodyguard. Everything came in waves. For the most part he had been the silent-type, not the sort that reveled in the early mornings despite being up at dawn like clockwork. Then as afternoon wore into evening, he opened up like a moonflower, relaying anything of utmost importance and sharing in the most casual and cordial of conversations. Then, by nightfall, his solitary walks allowed him some time to settle down, self-reflect, and mentally prepare for the following day.

In light of the hunting proposal, Adelard eagerly anticipated their trek when they rose for the day and continued their journey to the east. With Rhaegara leading, he followed several paces behind her, stopping when she stopped, and often wandering off on his own to investigate possible threats before maintaining his previous position in her tracks.

"How long should we wait?"

Before he even knew it, they were amongst others. Three, to be exact, and that one particular russet-touched head with the black-tipped tail... he could have recognized anywhere. He hung back as Rhaegara announced their arrival, that the trio's wait was over. His golden eyes swept over the the dark male and silvered woman at his side; and, as he came to pointedly stare at the back of his twin's head, he froze as she turned. They made eye contact. His heart felt like it had fallen back against the pit of his stomach.

Aubine, he gave a short but low growl to acknowledge her. Additionally, he gave her one of those knowing glances where his eyes narrowed for the briefest of moments in disappointment. She squeaked but he prowled forward to stand close to Rhaegara, angling his head as if to wordlessly tell her that they would talk later. A flash of his teeth sealed his silent command. Right now they had other matters to attend to; their reunion could continue later. Ignoring Aubine further, he looked to the group that had assembled, tight-lipped but not entirely tense or unimpressed.

Hudson "Huddy" Macieo
Well if you wanted honesty that's all you had to say

Sága mirrored him with her yawn, inquiring about how much longer they’d need to wait and his jaws opened to reply, but Rhaegara beat him to the punch with her arrival. The silvered man rose to his paws, offering a nod of greeting to her. His hueless gaze turned to the figure approaching behind her and, for a moment, he thought that Audine had rounded behind the woman like some practical joke. He turned his head and was surprised to see her standing there, looking completely shell shocked and he felt his brows raise. Glancing between the pair, it was clear they were related and he immediately assumed it was the brother she’d been searching for that Sága had filled him in on.

Initially he thought that it would be a happy reunion, but one look at the other male’s posture and the growl that rippled through his throat proved otherwise. Hudson angled his body protectively toward his travel companion and Aubine so that he could block any attack the other male might launch forward, but it seemed he smartly wouldn’t try anything. The Macieo man’s gaze slid to Rhaegara, a silent question in their depths but he let it slide to return to the man who uttered a question.

”I’m not gonna pretend to know whose strength is what, so I’m just gonna throw out a suggestion and see if it sticks. Ladies in charge of separation and herding, big guy over here and I on take down. There’s a herd of caribou migrating through north-west of here sure to have at least one we can sink our teeth into.”

Sága Tainn

Sága's tail gave a welcoming wave at the tawny woman's approach, but died off slightly as her male companion came into view. He looked.. exactly like Aubine, right down to the two small spots planted on either side of the jaw. Huh. Her questioning gaze swept toward the brown-dappled woman, and back to the approaching male, unable to push aside the similarities. Their interaction confirmed her suspicions, though perhaps she had more questions now than before.

Fate. Was this the reason the Gods had put her here? To reunite this pair?

Somewhere in the confusion, she noted Hudson taking on a protective stance, though thankfully, nothing seemed to come of it, and they were able to resume. The inky man threw out his proposal, and Sága found she had no qualms with it. If Hudson and this stranger wanted to be the ones to risk a stray kick, then far be it from her to deny them the opportunity. "Fine by me, if you think you can handle it." There was a playful lilt on her tongue as she spoke, confident that the two men would be more than capable.

Rhaegara Rayvne
And there's an old man sitting on the throne

Rhaegara found herself shocked at the display from her travelling companion. She hadn’t known him long, but travelling together for a few days, she had never seen him like this. The woman he growled at looked exactly like him, and she’d be shocked if they weren’t related. She found herself puzzled. Did he not get along with his family? She caught Huddy’s reaction and she mimicked it, angling her body slightly towards Adelard as she met his challenge. The last thing either of them needed right now was a brawl, and she knew her companion at least well enough to think he wouldn't do anything at the moment. She didn’t know what was going on; she didn't know the full story, but her loyalties in this endeavor were to Adelard first and the meal second, and if he had a reason then she’d stand by him. He moved closer to her and she caught the angling of his head, a brief flicker of recognition in her eyes and a curt nod. They would worry about what had just happened later.

For now, there was a hunt afoot. Perhaps the mood would settle a bit once their bellies were all full. Huddy took command of the hunt, and admittedly she didn’t mind. He’d been the one tracking the herd, and she and Adelard were there for extra paws to help with the takedown. This was, by all means, Huddy’s hunt. Separation and herding; she supposed she could do that. She simply offered a nod in response. “That works.” She could feel the hunger and anticipation for the kill gnawing at her stomach. The sooner they moved this hunt along, the sooner that hunger would be sated.

Aubine Gerau
Her pining was not well-received; and, instead of being allowed her normal jaw spar with Adelard, he growled at her. Not highly unusual for him, but wow, okay... So much for a hi-hello-sis'-I've-missed-you-too... Aubine shrank away, bending at her elbows and knees and allowing the others to speak. She and her brother could talk later. Right now there were bellies to fill, five total with one of them being her own.

"So, what's the plan?"

Aubine didn't even look at her littermate, her eyes instead trained on the forearms of the others: Sága's silver, the tawny hues of her brother's companion's, Hudson's night-black. The ladies would scout and chase and the two guys would take down their quarry. Her ears gently folded back against her nape in attempt to curb the excitement trilling in her chest. She would finally get to run, to scout and herd... She risked a glance up at Adelard's face as if awaiting an order but ultimately blinked and focused on Sága's side instead, waiting for her move. She would follow when ready.
