Kitt Chaikham
For @Undertow. Sunset.

A fresh layer of snow dusted the Rise, encasing the terrain in an endless white save the pale blond of fur stalking parallel along a tall drift. Kitt had not been in the area long, but he had grown appreciative of the tall snow banks for shelter. There wasn't much he could use to escape the harsher winds. With a one-track mind, he was determined to do one thing; catch a meal that would put the nauseating twist in his stomach to rest.

He was running out of time; the sun was setting, shades of blue, purple, and pink reflected off the tops of hills. Kitt was betting on something taking the near cover of dark as an opportunity. His tail swished behind him, and he continued his trot alongside the bank. Nose twitched against the cold, but he kept it down to sniff out any hints of a scent. By the time he reached the end of his shelter, Kitt paused in exclamation! His swagger (once slumped in defeat) renewed with life with perked ears and a grin that turned mischievous.

Finally! Finally!! He caught wind of a delicious smell.

Undertow
Her paws moved from the harsh rock of Serpent's Pass to the grassier terrain of the rise without any acknowledgement from Undertow. She barely noticed as the scenery changed, the snowbanks less jagged from the outcroppings beneath and more like the smooth, rolling hills of the Rise in summer. Her attention remained focused on the blue sparkle hanging in the air, nose twitching to follow the scents even as her eyes tracked the path the shining mist took on the air currents. Each time the wind blew, her vision danced; it was mesmerizing.

Not so much so that she could be sidetracked from her goal, however. The scent of a fresh kill, all the meal she could eat without the effort of the hunt, carried on the wind, and Undertow steadily made her way towards it, pausing now and then as the mist became too difficult to ignore. Soon enough, however, she reached somewhere close to the source of that delicious scent--and then the wind changed, and she smelled something else.

Orange invaded her senses. Another wolf, not the one she searched for, but close enough to her position that she should be able to see them as well as smell them. Undertow lifted her head, scanned the nearby area, and completely bypassed the golden figure so close to her. Not once, but twice; back, and forth her eyes skipped over him, before she lowered her nose to the ground and tried to find that delicious blue again. This was no time for the mist to tell its canards, she had a meal to find.
