Kyrios Aegina Stark

Kyrios grinned shamelessly, delighted by her answer. Unlike the one she had expressed at the start of their meeting, this was an attitude he could get behind! A hearty chuckle echoed from the depth of his chest, as he shook his head reassuringly, raising one paw to rest on the bridge of his muzzle – as if forcing it shut – signaling that he’d comply with her wish.

It really was a treat to meet another adventurer, even if their approach to exploring was different, they both still held that zest for experiencing something new. On his journeys, though he had met others who roamed like him, the Captain had found that by far, most wolves were homebodies, they enjoyed pack life and preferred to keep close to their own borders. This kind of life had never been enough for Kyrios, however, and while he enjoyed meeting any and all new wolves in his travels, another who shared this predilection was a special joy.

As such, he was sorry to see the conversation turn to more serious issues, though it was necessary. His smile paled at her words, eyes growing sad. “A’ave been t’ all th’ old haunts, they’re deserted,” He replied, shaking his head lightly. It was almost eerie – had he been of a less positive disposition, he might have feared some ill fate had befallen the old packs of Relic Lore – as it were, he simply wondered what might have caused them to move on.

In any case, he welcomed the change of subject, smiling brightly again as he tilted his head in thought. “Hm…” He mused aloud, eyes twinkling at the darker woman; “Well if ye stick t’ th’ shore a while, after it curves back round, rather than head straight north, ye’ll get t’ th’ stone-lab’rynth, tha’s quite a sight!” He winked at her, but deliberately over exaggerated the gesture, making it comical; “Then ye can follow th’ river into th’ woods, tha’s th’ course A’ like t’ take.”

The other smiled quite cheerfully, seeming to comply with her wish if his gesture was any indicator. Kyrios brought a forepaw up to rest atop the bridge of his nose as if to press down on it, forcibly keeping himself quiet. And so that would be the end of that topic of conversation, leaving the nomad to wonder what sort of environment awaited to the north.

Although the topic of the modest population of their kind was a bit of a depressant. Further adding to what they’d discussed on the matter already, Ky stated that the places he’d visited were all deserted. Which was odd, considering how abundant these lands seemed to be. Desertion, though, was better than the alternative of extinction. ”That’s.. unfortunate. Guess it better answers your earlier question, though,” Kat thought aloud. ”No point in staying anywhere for too long, if there’s hardly anyone to meet.”

She would make good on the journey and enjoy the exploration, though. The other, quite clearly happy to have been asked what else awaited, stated that there was a stone labyrinth to be found further along the shore of the lake, throwing in a wink for good measure. Then she could follow a river into the woods, which was probably where the place she was supposed to find awaited. Directions that were clear and specific, answering the questions she’d had.

With a wink of her own for good measure, the nomad bowed her head momentarily in gratitude. ”Thank you, again, Kyrios. I appreciate your time and guidance. You’ve been a great help.” It was saddening, she thought, that they were not heading the same way. This man appeared to hold a good deal of knowledge about their surroundings, and beyond that, he was quite nice to be around. Traveling together would’ve likely been an enjoyable experience, but it did not seem such things were to be.
