Siyet Crym
Siyet awoke and stretched out her legs. She had slept a bit longer then she meant to. Siyet had been wandering through for forest for quite a while now. She was finally getting close to the Mountain where there would be cooler temperature. She was tired of being in the heat. She got up and started to walke though the forest again, looking around to make sure there was no danger.

After a while of walking, Siyet's tummy rumbled. She remembered just how hungry she was. Hopefully she would be able to catch something. She sniffed the air hoping to find a scent. She did. She found the scent of a rabbit. Her mouth started to drool as She sniffed out the direction of the rabbit; east. She started to trot, then run until she got closer to the source of the scent until she saw it. That sweet juicy rabbit, that could be her next meal. She kept her distance and hid in the bushes, where the rabbit wouldn't spot her. The rabbit started to hop, hop, hop, and Siyet circled around trying to get behind the rabbit without it noticing. She got ready, dug her feet into the ground then...bam. She was off like lightning, running AR fast as she could towards that poor little rabbit. Then, the rabbit saw her and ran, oh and how did it run. That rabbit ran for its poor life, but Siyet was determined and leaped jaw open and...missed. The rabbit dove into a hole.

Siyet stood up from the ground, defeated. She shook the dust and debris of her fur. She felt tired, that chase took a lot out of her. She hadn't eaten in over a week. The smaller animals were not her Forte, she was used to hunting caribou with her pack. She sighed. Oh how she missed them.

She looked at the mighty mountain and decided now would be a good time to starte ascending it.

"Well," she said to herself, "nowhere to go but up."

It had been hot out. Unpleasantly, horrifically so. It still was. Simply functioning during the day for the dark one had turned into a trying task, and as such, he had given serious consideration to adjusting his schedule to become a night owl. His features afforded him more cover under the darkness anyway, so it seemed logical.

The other alternative, of course, was to find the nearest lake and promptly, unceremoniously dunk himself in it. He was one step ahead in that regard, already knowing where one was - but he still wasn’t sure whether or not to return there. He had stuck around the mountain range though, his aimless wandering continuing to carry him vaguely northward, though at this point he hadn’t the slightest clue what he was looking for.

He’d grown accustomed, once more, to the relative silence and solitude of his travels - but it didn’t stop him reminiscing fondly on the weeks he’d spent with Nori. He missed that. Also surprisingly, when he caught the scent trail of another, Jethro found he wasn’t quite as opposed to the idea of approaching them as he’d once been.

The dark one proceeded along at a casual lope, noting they seemed to be heading in mostly the same direction anyway - up higher into the mountains. It did not take too long to spot a white figure, and when he did, the dark one called out. ”Good mornin’,” Jet greeted cooly, slowing his pace the closer he got. He did not want to get too close and accidentally startle the other.

Siyet was startled by a voice. She turned to where she heard the voice and began growling and backing away from the source. She wasn't expecting company, and didn't know how to react. This would be the first wolf she had seen since her pack. She looked around at her different options, did she attempt to flee? Or should she face this newcomer. She found herself backed into a tree and stopped growling. She had no choice now.

"H...hi there" she said with a tremble in her voice. "Who are you? What do you want?"

The other, a smaller female, around his age he believed, did not appear to have been expecting anyone else. There was a low growl from the other, which instantly set Jethro on edge. He tensed a little, preparing to dodge or fight if needed, though she did not advance on him. Rather, the other began backing away slowly, clearly hesitant. She did not smell of any others, so the dark one surmised that this individual was likely alone, exploring, just as he was.

Jethro surmised, as most loners often thought, that she did not desire a fight. Injuries could spell doom for them. Jethro was prepared to turn away at that, to show the other he meant no harm, but then she spoke - voice soft, trembling. It was odd to observe someone else behaving in this manner. So often, that had been his reaction. Hesitant, prickly, defensive. Now, here he was - the initiator of conversation. How times had changed, and so quickly, too.

Forest-green eyes softened slightly as he studied the other. "I don't mean ya any harm. Name's Jethro. If you were plannin' on goin' up the mountain, which is where I'm headed, I thought ya might want a little company," he explained, tail waving slightly. "Climbed a few mountains already, myself, so I kinda know what to expect." Jethro added, offering a small smile to the other. He still wasn't sure how the expression looked on a scarred, forest-demon like himself, but it was worth a shot.

Siyet blinked slowly and slowly took a step forward. She was still a little afraid and visibly trembling. She wasn't sure how this new wolf would act.

"Uh..yes, the mountain. I am just trying to get out of this heat and maybe uhm..find some food."

Her tummy grumbled again. Loud enough for the newcomer to hear. She looked away embarrassed. Then took another step closer, smelling the air around this wolf. He smelt like the woods, and like dirt, with a faint hint of blood and meat.

"I uh..haven't eaten in a while. I used to hunt in a pack, and I'm no good and this solo stuff. I hate to ask but..maybe could you help me?"

The other seemed to settle, at least a little, with his attempt to assure her that he didn't mean any harm, although she was still clearly shaking with apprehension. Jethro almost felt bad for her, supposing that having some giant, dark guy with a bunch of scars would intimidate or concern him, too, were he in her situation. The small woman did take a step closer, though, and confirmed that she had sought to climb the mountain to get out of the heat. Food was also on the list, of course, and at that the stranger's stomach rumbled again, seeming to have a mind of it's own.

As far as getting out of the heat, climbing the mountain was not all that bad of an idea. The other confirmed she hadn't eaten for a while, and it seemed she had once been part of a pack. Were they around here? She also asked for his help, prompting the dark one to suck in a contemplative breath. Certainly, he was not unwilling to extend his help to someone - but as always, it wasn't going to be for free.

"I think we can help each other," he amended with a slight nod. "Two of us are better at huntin' than either of us on our own. But climbin' a mountain is risky business. It's tiring, takes a lot more energy than ya think. You sure that's what you wanna do?" To try to climb it on an empty stomach wasn't the wisest of ideas, Jethro thought. They would be wasting energy. While that wasn't as much of a concern for him right now, it was, potentially, for this woman.

The newcomer seemed to not mean her any harm, and that helped settle her a bit. She stepped even closer, now only a couple feet away.

"Yes, yes, let's see if we can hunt something. I promise I will share, I just need something."

She looked down, sadness in her eyes. She truly missed her pack and having been alone for so long had taken its toll on her. She looked back up at the the other wolf and saw all the scars on his face. He truly must have been a good fighter to have all those and survive. He had a bit of loneliness in his eyes as well. She thought that them traveling together might be good for both of them.

"Well, you probably know this are better than me, what do you suggest we do now?"

There was a slight wag in her tail.

Thankfully, it seemed the other was willing to amend her plans and to hunt first - a compromise Jet was also willing to make. She promised to share, which Jet hadn't been too concerned about. He offered a nod, brow furrowing and ears turning back slightly in contemplation. The thus-far unnamed stranger also appeared to calm a bit, tentatively stepping closer. There was a desperate, almost pleading quality to the words spoken by the other - and a look of forlornness that Jethro was also familiar with. Typically, the dark one was not much for empathy, which made this case a rare exception.

The other seemed willing to defer to his judgment, too, which Jethro supposed he was fine with. "Figure we find the nearest water source since the prey will be lookin' for water, too. If we find a big enough stream or lake, could also try our luck fishing." There had been that waterfall and river not too far away. Jet supposed he could always guide the two of them back that way if they didn't cross something closer.

At that, Jet started forth in a relaxed trot, expecting the other would follow. His path would carry them only slightly higher into the mountains, as he sought to perhaps obtain a higher vantage point before deciding where to go, next. After a moment, though, something clicked in mind, and he did cast an inquisitive glance back. "Do ya have a name?"

They other wolf started to go towards the mountain, and as he did, Siyet followed. As they were moving he had asked her name. Her name, she had completely forgotten to say who she was. She glanced at the sky, a little hopeful that maybe things were starting to look up.

"Yes, yes, my name is Siyet."

She continued to follow the dark one and she thought she noticed him glance back at her and she quickly looked away. She was feeling very embarrassed at the thought that she was so hopeless. She was starting to feel thankful though, that she had met someone who would be willing to help her.

As they continued forward they came across a stream, that stream looked very refreshing so Siyet decided to take a drink from it. In the stream she saw her reflection, the reflection stared back at her, and in itnshe could see images of her parents. Both of them were clear as day in her reflection. This made her start to tear up, she didn't want the other wolf to see her crying, to see how much of a mess she was. How hopelessly lost she was.
